Hailey smiled and laid down more, resting against his shoulder. She nodded and looked at him when he kissed her cheek, moving up and kissing him.

Nick held her close. He shifted and kissed her softly, moving and cupping her cheek. He’d been a lot more cautious with his affection while they were at the school, usually just giving her a quick kiss on the head or something rather than anything more since he knew they were never left alone.

Hailey sighed against his lips, her one hand moving and placing on his chest. They hadn't gotten to share a kiss since before they got to the School, since she didn't wanna gross out Faye or give the sickos watching the camera something to look at.

Nick relaxed a bit as he held her, gently deepening their kiss. It was nice to finally get to kiss her without having to worry about being watched. “I love you hailey.” He murmured against her lips.

Nick looked up at her and smiled gently. He kept his arms around her, gently rubbing her back again. “We’re okay?” He asked softly to make sure that things were fine between them.

Nick nodded. “Okay.” He agreed, some of the tension disappearing from his shoulders. They were okay. And safe. Not much else mattered. He gave her another soft kiss.

Hailey nodded and kissed him right back, glad that they had managed to work things out relatively quickly. She hadn't wanted that to go on very long.

Nick held her close. He pulled away after a moment, looking at her and smiling faintly. Maybe everything would work out. He hadn’t meant to cause problems between them, just unable to stop his mind.

Hailey smiled down at him as well, moving so she had her head rested against his chest. She listened to his heartbeat, feeling herself relax hearing it.

Nick smiled faintly and relaxed with her. He kept rubbing her back for a few. “Well do what we have to to take care of the school. But then can we just chill and be lazy for like a year?” He asked quietly.

Hailey smiled, giving him two more quick kisses before settling back down on his chest. She wrapped one hand loosely around his waist and closed her eyes, the most relaxed she had been in days.

Nick nodded slightly. He stayed snuggled close to her. “Get some sleep if you want. It’s alright.” He assured her softly.

"Dammit," Chasity cursed as she pulled the tray out of the oven, burning herself. She dropped it on the counter and inspected the cookies she had been making. Well, trying to make. And if you could even call those cookies. Looked more like little bits of coal really. She sighing, frowning as she tried reading over the instructions again, trying to see where she had gone wrong.

Nick had just gotten up from a nap and was about to head outside when he heard Chastity cursing. Most of the others were outside, playing or practicing flying/other skills. "You're supposed to use an oven mitt for one." He commented. "And you're not supposed to cremate cookies." He added lightly, coming over. He glanced at the oven before the recipe.

Chasity put her finger in her mouth to sooth the burn, looking over at him and rolling her eyes."Har har very funny. I did have a mit on, accidently touched it with my other hand." She reached forward and touched one of them, it being pretty much stone at this point. She wasn't sure what she did wrong, but it was bad.

Nick shrugged. He reached and touched the cookie rocks. "How long were they in the oven?" He asked curiously, trying to help sort out where she went wrong. He skimmed over the recipe quietly, sliding it closer to him

"15 minutes, just like it said," Chasity said, pointing to the time. Unknown to her, she had accidently turned up the oven too high, about 200 degrees more than she was suppose to have it at.

Nick nodded. He looked over the recipe before at the oven again. "It helps if you set the oven to 350, rather than 500. Not sure how you managed that." He commented. He went over and turned the oven off to give it a few minutes to cool down.

Chasity wat,he's him go over and ahe frowned, checking the temperature and seeing that he was right."Dammit. We'll that explains why their as burnt as they are." She grabbed the pan with the oven mit and three the cookies away, going to try again.

Hailey came into the living room for a second to grab something, which you could see inside the kitchen from there. She noticed that the two were in there together and she watched them for a moment.

Nick nodded slightly. "Yeah, that's probably why they were hockey pucks. You'll have to let the oven cool down a bit but you can at least make more cookie dough in the meantime." He suggested, leaning against the counter. "Want any help?"

Chasity nodded, going over to the fridge and getting out the carton of eggs she had been using."Thanks for the help. And only if you want. I've never made cookies before and I figured, you know, if I'm gonna do them might as well try it from scratch."

Nick nodded. "Sure. I don't mind helping out though I'm pretty sure you can handle this." He assured. He got out some of the other ingredients for her, setting them out on the counter. He didn't notice Hailey lurking nearby. "You adjusting okay to being around all of us?"

Chasity nodded her head, looking at he got out more of the stuff for her. She didn't mind the help. She glanced at the recipe and started measuring some stuff, putting it in a bowl."I think so. It's a little weird, being with people who are so chummy with one another. But I think I'm getting the hang of it."

Nick nodded. "That's fair. We've been around each other for so long that it makes sense for it to be a little difficult. And we all kinda stick in pairs." He agreed softly. He helped get some of the ingredients into the bowl.

"Yeah I noticed that," Chasity replied to him, looking over at him,"I was wondering, even though I guess it's probably obvious. Are Hunt and Ace together? Like a couple?"

Nick nodded slightly. “Yeah. They are as far as I’m aware of at least. Faye and Zar might be as well but I’m not sure about that.” He answered, glancing at her. “I don’t think it was really intentional that any of us ended up together, it just comes with all the time together I guess..”

Chasity nodded her head at his words, mixing some stuff together once she got it into the bowl."How long have Hailey and you been together then?"

Nick shrugged. “A while. I’m not sure exactly cause we suck at keeping track of time but it’s been more than a couple months. And then ace and Hunt is a bit newer than that though the sexual tension was there for a while.” He answered, trying to think.

Chasity listened to his words, laughing a little at his last sentence."I guess you get two guys together and there's gonna be a decent amount of that huh?"

Nick shrugged. “I guess so. It’s funny now but it was almost ridiculous then. They figured it out though. And they’re a good balance to each other so they work really well together.” He told her, just openly sharing stuff about the flock.

Chasity chuckled a little, continuing to mix up the cookies with his help. It was easier, having someone there to guide her and make sure ahe didn't mess up.

Hailey listened to their conversation for a while, just feeling...uneasy. The two of them clearly connected well with one another, Chasity was the closest with Nick so far. She felt herself getting worked up and she sighed, exiting the house again to join everyone else outside.

Nick nodded to her. He got along well with Chastity. Probably because she’d poked around in his head and they’d had done conversations in the lab. He felt like he had to be her ally since he’d been the one to decide to get her out of The lab

Hailey looked at the others outside, seeing the kids playing around and Zar and Faye relaxing nearby, eating some snacks. Hunt and Ace were sparing, though it looked more like they were goofing around at this point, putting one another in headlocks. And then there was Jayden, standing off by himself. She moved over to him."Having a nice time...over here by your lonesome?"

Nick kept chatting with chastity as they remade the cooking dough together. He’d gotten to where he didn’t feel like it was a struggle to get through to her, talking easily.

Jayden watched the others fight and play around, wondering if he’d ever get to the point were they treated him like an actual member of the flock as well. He shrugged at Hailey. “I guess so. I’m just watching.” He told her softly.

Once the cookie dough was made, Chasity started rolling it out and placing them on the pan again.
