Hailey nodded in approval, looking over at Ethan.
"Would it be okay for you if they showered and had a little dinner right now?" she asked him, it being early for bedtime but, honestly, they probably would all sleep until at least 8 or 9 the next day.

Ethan nodded his head right away."Of course. I can show them where the bathrooms are, show them how to use the shower. Could you...hold Yvette for me while I do that though?"

Hailey looked over at the baby that Cass was still holding, a little nervous to be holding something to small. But she nodded her head anyways.
"Yeah, I can do that," she said, kissing the top of Cass' head,"Go with Ethan, pick out some clothes and then you're gonna shower, okay?"

Nick moved out of the way. “Grab some clothes and you can shower after Cass, Victor.” He said softly. He thanked Ethan and kept an eye on him as he showed Cass to the bathroom once she’d grabbed clean clothes. He came over and sat by Hailey for a minute.

"Oh I have two bathrooms actually, they can each use one," Ethan said and carefully moved Yvette from Cass' arms to Hailey's arms before going with the kids.

Hailey took the baby in her arms when she was given to her, also keeping an eye on them until they were out of view. She sighed softly and looked down at the little baby, who appeared to be falling asleep a little bit already.
"I'm worried. About Ace and Zar," she said, looking up at Nick.

Cass nodded and followed Ethan.

Nick thanked him again and watched them go. “I know. I’m worried about them too. But Ace is doing good at being a rock for Zar. We’re gonna get them through it and get our flock back.” He promised, glancing down at Yvette.

Hailey nodded her head as Nick spoke, knowing that he was right. It was just hard right now.
"I'm sure so afraid he's gonna crack, you know? Crack under the pressure and do something reckless," she replied,"I don't want any more of us to get taken."

Nick nodded. “That’s reasonable. I’ll keep an eye on him. I don’t think he’ll go after them alone. He won’t desert Zar. And he knows he can’t get in and break them out alone.” He assured gently.

Hailey nodded again and sighed, leaning a little bit on Nick as she held the baby, silent for a little while as they just sat there. She was so tired and yet she felt like she couldn't sleep. She didn't want to sleep, not with everything going on. But she knew she needed to.

“Here. I can hold her so you can get some sleep. You need it Hailey.” He offered gently, wanting to at least give her a few minutes to relax. And she needed the rest to help her wing heal. He glanced over at her worriedly.

"No it's alright. It's kinda nice, holding a baby," Hailey said, a soft smile on her face. She had been nervous before, but now that she was doing it, well, it was alright.

Ethan came back a second later, looking at them.
"Their all set up in the showers. I'll make something small for them for dinner, do they uh, do they like mac and cheese and hot dogs?" he asked.

Nick nodded slightly in agreement. “Alright.” He glanced to Ethan when he came back in. “Sure. That should be good. I can come help you cook.” He offered, kissing Hailey’s cheek before getting up.

"Oh thanks man, but you go ahead and relax. I can imagine...you guys have had a pretty stressful time lately," Ethan said with a nod of his head. All things considering, he was taking this really easily, like Brandie had."Just relax, I got it." He moved into the kitchen afterwards.

Hailey watched as he went, looking up at Nick.
"I'm glad I found Brandie when I did. Her family is really nice," she commented softly.

Nick nodded though he felt bad. He felt like he needed to keep doing stuff at least to help out around there until he could move his flock to somewhere safe and then rescue the others from the school. "Yeah, we got really lucky. Not to mention the fact that she saved my life." He added with a shrug. He stood up and stretched after a moment.

"Also a very good point," Hailey replied to his words, not wanting to remember that too much. It had been scary as hell when he was hurt like that. Looking down at Yvette, she gently rubbed her cheek with her finger, smiling a little.

Nick nodded. He went and checked in ace and Zar real quick before coming back, trying to figure out what to do to keep himself busy. He didn’t want to sleep but didn’t want to go keep watch and leave Hailey alone either.

((Hmmm. I don’t know honestly. It could be interesting either way. If she joined there could be drama of her getting in the way of nick and Hailey but I don’t know.)

Hailey noticed how he was moving around like that and she sighed.
"What's up? You seem nervous," she commented, which like, wasn't a surprise. They all had a right to be pretty nervous right now.

(( Yeeeeeah, I think it would be cool for her to join, get someone new up in here. I'm just trying to think of how like, what her reasons are for working with the school. Tell me what you think of these ideas I've thought of:
*someone else could also be mind controlling her, making her do all of the things she's been doing
*she could be getting treated fairly bad by the School, like they abuse her and stuff like that, and either Nick and Hailey or Hunt and Faye are able to convince her she deserves better than that
*maybe while they're working on getting Faye and Ace back, Nick and Hailey could be caught, just for a short while, and they figure that since they have them, they don't need her anymore so they plan to terminate her. While the Flock is escaping, Hailey and Nick could actually help her out cause they feel bad for her
*she could've been working under cover all this time, working on a way to bring down the School from the inside and when they come to get Ace and Hunt back, she could actually turn on the School then and explain herself to the Flock ))

“Thinking I should go keep watch. But I also don’t want you alone.” Nick answered simply. He glanced around, unsure what to do. “And you need to rest at some point too.” He added quietly.

Two days they had been staying at Ethan's house and, thankfully, it looked like they were getting a rhythm down. Zar still refused to get anywhere near the guy and suck to Ace like glue. But, thankfully, Ethan didn't seem too bothered by it. Most everyone was outside now, Ethan's oldest had come back yesterday, Leigha was her name, and met them and she was playing with Victor and Cass at the moment while Ethan cooked on the grill outside. Ace and Zar were inside, but Hailey understood why they wanted to be. And her, she was practicing on her levitation skills, needing to get better with flying. Only weird thing was all of her clothes were currently washing with the kids clothes now so she was wearing clothes that Brandie had left behind. A pink crop tank top and some decently short black shorts. Not what she would normally wear...but it was super hot out so she supposed it was okay.

Ace stayed close to Zar, comforting her however he could. He stayed inside with her and made sure they both ate and everything.

Nick had talked with Ace the night before about going to the school to go rescue the others. He wanted to go, things felt safe at the house with Ethan and he wanted his flock back together. He had been taking a nap when they all were outside but woke up after a bit and came out. He glanced at Hailey, surprised at her outfit but she definitely looked good. He walked over to her as she was practicing.

Hailey had decided to stay closer to the ground since there wasn't anyone out there with her to catch her in case she did fall. She was maybe 2 or 3 feet off the ground, it wouldn't hurt too bad if she fell. She looked at Nick when he came over and offered a smile.
"Hey. Have a nice nap?" she asked, staying hovering in the air.

Nick tilted his head up to look at her while she practiced, smiling gently. "Eh, I slept so I guess." He shrugged. "Come down for a few so we can talk?" He asked her softly. He glanced at the others to make sure they were all doing okay before holding his arms out for her to drop down.

"Good," Hailey replied to his first words, raising her eyes at his next but she did do as told. She moved herself down a bit and took his hands, that helping her go the rest of the way down and she landed on her feet."What's up?"

Nick steadied her easily until she landed back on the ground. “Ace wants to go and get Faye and Hunt back, doesn’t really want to wait. And I’m kinda With him.” He started quietly. “It’ll be tough but Zar is really struggling so we need Faye. And I don’t want Hunt becoming an even more mindless zombie there...”’

Hailey looked at Nick as he started speaking, her face dropping as soon as he did so.
"No," she said right away when he was finished, shaking her head,"Absolutely not. No, I'm not okay with that." They wanted to go by themselves to the School? Where they had a mind reader and a super charger, mind controlled Hunt that would kick the shit out of them as soon as they got close? No.

“Things are gonna go bad for them though. And soon.” Nick said softly. “It’ll be tough but I know we can do it, especially if you all are safe here.” Nick added quietly, looking at her.

"Nick," Hailey said, sighing heavily and running her hands along her face,"I know you wanna get them out, I know. I do to. It...kills me to think of what they're going through right now. Nick sighed and ran a hand through his hair. “Hailey, half of our flock has been captured. Zar was traumatized again, Ace was off for a while too. And now they’ve got Hunt and Faye, completely under their control where they can do whatever to them.” He said cautiously. “I get it’s risky as hell but it’s worth it to get them back sooner rather than later...”

"It's not worth it if you two get caught to," Hailey said, her voice raising a bit, but she took a deep breath to get it under control a moment later,"That girl controls mind Nick, see how easily she got to Hunt and Faye. She got right in there. If she gets into your and Ace's brains, the rest of us are screwed. Me, Zar and the kids, we're screwed."

Nick sighed softly. “Then what do you want us doing? I don’t want to just sit here. I want my family date and together.” He mumbled.

"I want us here to take a breather Nick, that's what we came here for. Take a breather, heal up and get out energy back. Then we try and think of a logical way we could go about doing this," Hailey said, running her fingers through her hair,"It's hard, it's gonna be hard, that girl is a damn dirty trick on their part. But with all of us going in on this, together, it should be at least a little easier."

Nick sighed. “But you’re safe here. The kids are safe too. That should be a priority. If I get Hunt and Faye back then the flock will be fine, with or without me. I want to protect my flock and this is the best way to go about it. If Faye is traumatized and hurt like Zar was, it’s gonna be a really rough road. The sooner she’s out, the better. I know she sacrificed herself to keep you from going so now I need to go and do what’s best for us all.” He tried to convince her, shifting on his feet. “You’re probably not gonna be able to fly for a month.. that’s too long to wait. But you guys would be safe here. Ace and i could get the others out and then join you again later.”

Nick sighed and shook his head. “I’m hearing you Hailey. I am. But I feel like we’re in a relatively stable place for now where we could do this. The kids seem safe with Ethan. And you and Zar would be here in case. Ace and I can get the others back and then we’ll at least have them too. Ace and Zar need them back...”

Nick sighed and shook his head. He wouldn’t leave her like that. Not with them in an intense fight. He couldn’t. In case he didn’t make it back or something, he had to be sure that she’d be fine first. He stepped back. “I’ll leave you to your practice.” He said quietly, stretching out his wings and taking off. Ethan already knew about them all so he didn’t worry about him seeing or anything.

Hailey watched him as he took off and sighed a little bit, again rubbing her hands on her face. She remained there for a second before she went past the kids running around and into the house, looking to see if Ace and Zar were there.

They were there on the couch, Zar lying her head on his lap and taking a nap. She had been doing a lot of that these days, being as stressed out as she was.

Nick flew up high and just around for a bit, trying to clear his mind.

Ace glanced up when Hailey came in. He’d been keeping quiet so Zar could rest. “Hey. What’s up?” He asked her faintly.

Ace nodded slightly to her. “I know you don’t approve. But Zar made a really good point. They wanted a girl for a reason. Which means they’re likely doing something to Faye. She doesn’t deserve that and Hunt is probably going crazy there any time that he’s aware.” He said quietly. “I’m worried that if they keep Hunt in mind control or whatever is going on, he’s gonna lose it and I won’t, we won’t ever get him back..”

Hailey listened to his words and sighed, nodding her head.
"You're right, I don't approve. And I totally get your point on it, both of your points. I wanna do the same thing. But I won't. Because I don't wanna put myself in a position that I could be controlled by that girl, come back, and start hurting all of you," she said, shaking her head,"I told him to do what he wanted. If that's what you guys wanna do I can't stop you."

No matter what we do, someone isn't gonna be happy about it. But in this moment, it's 2 against 1 here. I'm not the leader anymore anyways so I can't make this call."

“I know. But I know you usually have pretty good plans. So I kinda would like to hear your thoughts on how we can go about this better. One big thing nick and i figured is that at least victor and Cass would be safe. There’s another kid their age and Ethan seems to care.. we could leave them and the four of us could go. But you can’t fly. And I’m not sure Zar is stable enough.” He explained quietly.
