I hope you stay safe too and can avoid getting sick!)Nick looked around for the cabin as well but was also trying to just keep an eye out for any possible dangers. He had to protect the rest of his flock however he could. He nodded and started flying back down.
Ace stayed close with the kids, making sure they were doing okay since Faye wasn't there and she was usually their rock. He was broken up about Hunt but couldn't do anything about it right now.

(( Very very stressful lol I actually live in Ohio and they made all of the restaurant and bars and fast food places close down minus take out and delivery :/ so I'm not in work for...however long this goes on. Which is real shitty lol ))Hailey nodded back and looked over at the others for a moment to make sure they knew they were going down. It was really weird, looking back and only seeing the 4 of them. Without Hunt or Faye. It was, terrible really. Sighing heavily, she just held tighter onto Nick.
Zar did go down with them, trying not to think about what they were probably doing to Faye right about now. She couldn't think about that cause if she thought about that, it would make her even more depressed.
((Oh no! That’s super shitty. Is your work working out some sort of pay or no?) Nick flew down a bit away from the cabin. He landed and gently set Hailey down on her feet, stepping back and closing his wings. He set down the bag he’d been carrying, watching the others land.
Ace let Zar and the kids land before landing a bit away from them. “Hailey, you should probably lead the way..” he suggested. “You’re the most familiar with Brandie so it might be easier.”

(( No I don't think so. I applied for the unemployment stuff that they told all of us to, but I didn't get anything? So like, I don't even know anymore lol I just hope this all smooths over, even though I heard someone mention this could last up to 8 weeks o.o ))Hailey stood once Nick had set her down, fixing her shirt a little from the wind and looking around. They had landed just off from the cabin, it was a little visible through the trees. At Ace's suggestion, she nodded her head.
"Yeah good idea," she said, going over to Zar and taking the bags she had been carrying so she wouldn't have to anymore,"C'mon."
Zar let Hailey take the bags from her, following along with them.
(O.O that sounds super stressful. I hope things chill out soon soon and will get sorted out))Nick helped with the bags that ace and the kids had been carrying, following after Hailey as they approached the cabin. He watched around carefully.
Ace followed them but kept hack a bit with the younger kids in case anything went wrong.

(( It is haha I sure hope so to! Cause I can't afford to be outta work for 8 months unless they put a pause on like, paying rent and bills and stuff like that, which a lot of people have been talking about. Which makes total sense, but I kinda doubt they would ever do that. ))Hailey walked through the trees and up to the cabin, though it didn't really look like one once she had gotten closer to it. It looked pretty close to an actual house really. Glancing around, she slowly started towards the front door when it suddenly opened and she stopped in her tracks.
A man who appeared to be in his early 30's stood there, walking a little further onto the porch.
"You wouldn't happen to be Hailey would you?" he asked, offering a small smile. He was a fairly attractive man honestly and looked like he worked out as well. Or did a lot of manual labor.
Hailey's brain was working at about 1000 miles right now, her not able to stop that response from coming so close to a stranger that easily.
"Um yeah, yes. You're....Ethan? Brandie's brother?" she asked.
"That would be me," Ethan replied, motioning them forward,"C'mon inside, it's alright."
((Exactly. It’s such a mess. They want everything closed to prevent spread but won’t figure out how to help all the people who are out of work very well. Hopefully they’ll get that sorted out soon or your rent will be paused or something) Nick watched around them before glancing at the door when it opened. He looked the man over, mentally assessing how to beat him in a fight. He hoped it wouldn’t come to that but he had to protect his flock. “Nice to meet you.” He replied to Ethan politely.
Ace followed them with the younger kids, doing his best to keep watch as well. He was on edge and just wanted to get away from the others for a few once they were safe and settled.

Hailey took just a moment before she did actually started walking up the front porch, giving a nod to Ethan before entering the house. Just like she had been with the outside, she was surprised how nice it looked on the inside as well.
Zar moved behind Ace as soon as Ethan had come out and onto the porch, holding onto his shirt tightly.
(Lol. Pretty much.)(My college campus is completely shut down so I have online classes now which sucks too. It’s such a stressful mess))
Nick stood aside, letting Hailey and everyone else go in before him. That way he was between Ethan and anyone in his flock. “It’s all good. We probably won’t be here that long.” He said softly.
Ace ushered the kids in after Hailey before shifting and protectively wrapping an arm around Zar, gently pulling her so she was beside him instead of behind him. “I’ve got you.”

Hailey glanced down at the kids, putting hands on their backs as she tried to take in the house, looking for exits really just in case they needed to get out. One thing caught her eye right away and she furrowed her eyebrows. There was a lot of baby stuff in here, lots of toys and other stuff. Did Ethan have a kid?
Zar went into his arm right away, burying her face in his shoulder as she walked with him. Strangers freaked her out a lot, especially men and for good reason really.
(For me it's really confusing. I can do online work just fine but my focus goes out the window sometimes when I constantly have to self-impose deadlines for some stuff. And they're still figuring out how to run one of m classes.)Nick nodded and shook his hand. "Alright. I'm Nick. You know Hailey already." He introduced. "That's Ace and Zar is the one he's holding. Don't try and go near her please, she's already freaked out. And then the two young ones are Victor and Cass." He explained. "Who all is here besides you?"
Cass stayed close to Hailey, looking around them cautiously.
Ace shifted how he carried their stuff, wrapping both arms around her to try and help. He went over close to Hailey, getting some more distance between Zar and Ethan.

(( Damn :/ that all sounds just terrible. I understand like, why their taking the precautions they are, but it is all certainly stressful. Just try your best I suppose I mean, that's all any of us can do until this blows over. ))Ethan shook his hand, taking it back once he was done and went into the house with everyone else when they were all in. He nodded as Nick pointed out everyone, taking a mental note not to get too close to Zar. She looked pretty freaked, poor thing...
"Um, it's me and my 2 daughters here. My oldest is away for the weekend, she's at her moms, but she'll be back tomorrow night," he replied, offering a small smile to them all,"Go ahead and set your things down, take a seat anywhere. I'll get you all some water." He moved into the kitchen after that.
Hailey looked at him and listened to his words, cursing under her breath at the mention of his kids. He had kids, kids! And they were here in his house, on the run from some huge organization that was very willing to hurt anyone who got in the way. She was already regretting coming here...
(Same here. I’m just trying to do my best and not freak out. I’ve deleted all social media apps and everything cause it makes it worse))Nick nodded slightly. He went over to Hailey. “It’s alright. It’s just for a couple nights at the most probably..” he assured her quietly. “We’ll protect them.” He promised before speaking up a bit for the others. “Here. We can all set our stuff right here for now so it’s out of the way.” He told them. He set down the bags he had before moving and looking around the house a bit, figuring out exits and everything.
Ace followed Nick’s instruction, letting Zar go long enough for him to put down what he’d been carrying before hugging her close again. “Do you want one of the blankets? We can sit down and just curl up for a bit?”

(( Very very good point. I was like, not too freaked about it and then everyone on Facebook and TikTok and all that stuff was posting about it and just, ugh! It freaks me out haha ))Hailey looked at Nick and sighed a bit, hoping that he was right. She was hoping so, so much that the School didn't know where they were. Or, if they did, they would leave this family alone. Setting her stuff down, she walked with the kids over to the couch and sat them down, offering a smile.
Zar shook her head right away at his words, not wanting to sit down and relax. She couldn't relax, not right now. She didn't know this person, didn't trust that he wouldn't hurt her.
((Same. It’s scary enough just watching the news let alone what else blows up on social media.)Nick wandered around a little bit, not going far but just trying to see the layout of the house. He knew that Hailey had obviously trusted Brandie and figured that she sorta trusted Ethan as well but he’d rather be extra cautious. He glanced back to the others to check on them.
Ace shifted and looked at her. “I’ll keep you safe. He’s not gonna touch you or even come anywhere near you. I promise..” he told her gently, trying to help. He glanced around before leading her over to a chair where they could both sit.

(( Yep, I agree. I just keep on hoping next week it'll be back to normal lol ))With the kids sat down, Hailey looked over to Ace and Zar. She was grateful that he took on the task of caring for her, Ace was the only guy in the Flock she let touch her so openly. After them being caught together though it made sense that they had somewhat of a bond going on.
Zar didn't say anything, just walked with him cause she wanted to keep her face hidden. Just wanted to hide herself as much as possible.
(Lol sameee))Ace sat in the chair and gently pulled Zar down to sit right beside him. He kept his arms around her protectively and let her hide her face in his shirt. He knew he wasn’t as good of a comfort as Faye was for her but he’d have to try his best.
Nick came back to the others after a minute, staying standing.

Zar just went along with what he was doing, wanting to continue to hide more than she wanted to try and make him continue to stand in the corner with her.Ethan came back a second later with glasses of water as well as a bowl of fruit that he had cut up earlier so they could eat something as well.
"There you guys go. Um, I can bring your things into where you'll be staying," he said to them.
"I'll help you," Hailey offered, not doing anything anyways. She wanted to look around the house more too.
Ace held her close to him, his arms wrapped tightly around her. “I got you.” He promised again. Nick thanked Ethan quietly. He glanced at Hailey and nodded to her, letting her go with him to get their stuff put away but he’d stay with the kids unless something happened and she needed help. He had to try and protect them all, even if Ethan didn’t seem dangerous.

Hailey went around with Ethan to get their things into the rooms. It looked like the had 2 rooms set aside for them and, from what she had gathered from Ethan, this was actually the house that the family grew up in. So one of these rooms use to be Brandie's and the other use to be Ethans while the one room that was now his oldest daughters room, was Ethan and Brandie's sisters room. So it worked out for the most part really, she would probably stick the kids in one room and have Zar and Ace in the other, since Zar needed someone with her right now and, honestly, she didn't want Ace to be along right now either."You're okay if Nick and I take the couch?" she questioned Ethan once they finished.
"Nope I don't mind. The couch actually folds out into a bed so you should be comfortable," Ethan replied to her as they went back into the living room. It was then that the baby monitor on the couch picked up some noise, the baby was crying a little bit,"Oh, her nap is over. I'll be right back."
Hailey nodded and watched him go, still very nervous about the baby. Sighing, she went over to the kids to check on them.
"Did you guys eat some of the fruit he brought out?" she asked.
Nick had sat down on the couch Witt the kids, making sure they ate at least a little bit. It’d been a pretty long couple day’s for them. He glanced to Hailey when she came back and nodded. “Yeah. They ate a bit. Ace isn’t moving. Neither is Zar.” He told her faintly. Ace glanced over at them. “we’ll eat later.. could we go lay down in wherever were sleeping?” He asked Hailey quietly.

Hailey nodded and bit her lip, looking over when Ace requested this."Yeah of course. I'll show you where it is," she replied, standing up straight and ruffling both of the kids heads. They were being very very strong, all of them were doing well all things considered. But she knew that this hit Zar and Ace the most without a doubt.
Victor looked over at the two of them as well and sighed a bit, bringing his knees up to his chest. It was all weird, really weird. They were moving around so much and Hunt was gone and then Faye was gone and there's a new avian person that was trying to hurt them. It was a lot.
Ace nodded. He stood up and gently pulled Zar up with him. He kept her close and followed Hailey to one of the bedrooms. He figured it would help Zar to be away from Ethan in a separate room where they could escape and weren’t anywhere near him if needed. Nick stayed near Victor and Cass. “It’ll be okay guys. We’re gonna let Hailey heal up and sort out getting Hunt and Faye back.” He promised them quietly. “For now, let’s eat a bit and then we can just relax or you two can get some sleep.”

Hailey showed them to the room they would be staying."He pulled out a blow up mattress for one of you since there was only one bed. But if you guys wanted, I'm sure you could fit into the one," she told them.
Victor looked up at Nick and sighed, playing with the water bottle he had in his lap.
"Why was that girl attacking us like that? She's an avian hybrid just like us," he questioned, not understanding.
Ace nodded. “Alright. We’ll figure it out..” he assured. He offered a gentle smile to Hailey before glancing back to Zar and letting her go for a moment. “I’ll take the air mattress so you can lay in the bed? Or I’ll lay with you.” He offered. Nick shrugged. “She’s been taught differently. We were given a chance to escape and we took it because we didn’t want to live like that under their control. But they’ve got her convinced that she’s better and we’re bad. That’s why she’s after us. She’s been trained to hunt us like the erasers have been.”

"Okay," Hailey said, watching the two of them for a moment. She felt terrible for them, she could only imagine what they were going through. Loosing parts of her Flock was a punch in the gut but she knew she would feel even worse if it was Nick or one of the younger kids they had taken. She patted both of their backs gently before exiting the room with a heavy sigh.Victor listened to his explanation, frowning heavily.
"Shouldn't she know better? They're just using her, just like they use the Erasers," he said, shaking his head,"It would be better if she would come to stay with us instead and not help the School."
(At the dentist so I’ll disappear for a bit. :/ ))Ace closed the door after Hailey left so it was just him and Zar in there. “Zar?” He asked gently, watching her worriedly.
Nick nodded. “I agree. But we weren’t able to convince her. We’ll have to try again though” he reassured Victor gently.

(( No prob! (: ))Zar was mostly zoned out, she was so exhausted from crying so much and so drained from everything they were doing. She just wanted everything to go back the way it was. She did raise her head when Ace said her name though, sniffling.
Victor nodded, taking a sip of the water that he had and thought for a moment.
"Do you think it would be a good idea to let her join us, if she said she wanted to? She took Faye and Hunt, she can control us however she wants. Do you think that would be safe?" he asked Nick just as Hailey came back into the room. She raised her eyebrows when she heard the question but said nothing, just went and sat on the edge of the couch by Cass.
(I’m back. I lived) “Let’s lay down okay? I’ll hold you or you can use me as a pillow or whatever helps.” He assured her softly. He was trying to stay focused on just taking care of her so he wouldn’t freak out or miss Hunt.
Nick shrugged. “I dunno honestly. I don’t t hi no she’d want to be a part of our flock. And if she could control our minds, I don’t know that we’d be safe.’ He explained. “we’re gonna get Faye and Hunt back either way.” He assured softly.
Cass snuggled close to Hailey, closing her eyes.

Victor listened to his words."I think it would be hard to trust her...but I think she would be a good member if we could trust her. Her powers could be really helpful."
Hailey listened to their conversation, not butting in. Hearing a child's point of view of things, even him being mature for his age, was interesting.
"Did you eat sweetie?" She asked Cass, wrapping an arm around her.
(Lol. Yep. And no worries)Ace held her close. “I would guess they’re probably trying to get her under their control like they did Hunt. And then I don’t know.. we’ll get her back soon though.”
“True. We’ll see. There’s probably more than just her though.” He said softly.

Ace hugged her closer. “Faye is strong. She’ll be okay. And we’re not gonna wait long to go get her.” He promised. “I was gonna talk to nick about him and I going as soon as we can to get them out.” He said gently. Nick nodded. “Agreed. It does. But we’ll be okay. And we’re gonna figure this out.”

Zar looked at him, beginning to cry a little bit again."Nick is still hurt. You guys can't fight Hunt by yourselves," she said with a shake of her head,"Even with all of us we couldn't beat him."
Victor nodded his head and sighed a bit, reaching over and taking a piece of fruit.
Ethan came back in a moment later, carrying a small child. She couldn't be more than 4 or 5 months old.
"Sorry I left you alone," he said with a smile, brushing back some of the young girls hair,"This is Yvette."
Hailey looked up, her breath catching her her throat when she saw the baby. Cass had been the last youngest thing she had been around and even then, she hasn't been that tiny.
Ace held her close. “we’ll find a way. We’re not just gonna abandon them. Maybe we can’t save Hunt right now but we can get Faye.” He reassured. “Were gonna find a way.” He promised. Nick stayed close by Victor, offering what comfort he could. He glanced over at Ethan when he returned, wary still. He stood up after a moment.
Cass waved at the infant. “Hello Yvette.” She greeted, distracted for the time being.

Zar continued to cry, curling up closer to Ace as they laid there. She didn't reply to his words, wanting them back yes, she just didn't wanna loose more people in the process.Victor looked at the baby, a small smile coming to his face.
"She's cute," he commented.
Ethan smiled back at Victor."Thank you. You guys are welcome to hold her, if you'd like." He said this to Cass and Victor, sending another look to Hailey asking if that was okay.
Hailey caught the look and shrugged, looking at Cass.
"Wanna hold her?" she asked.
Ace pulled her closer and just let her cry while they cuddled together. He didn’t know what else to do right now so it was the best he could offer. Cass shook her head slightly. “No.. she’s too little. I don’t want her hurt.” She answered cautiously.
Nick watched them all for a minute to make sure they were alright before getting up and heading to the door to check around outside.

"You won't hurt her sweetie, I promise. I'll help you," Hailey said, wanting her to be able to do it if she wanted to. She just wanted something to brighten up their moods a little bit and they both seemed happy when they saw the baby.
Cass nodded. She shifted closer to Hailey before glancing at Ethan. “Would that be okay? I’ll be really careful and Hailey will be right here too..” she asked, wanting to meet the little girl. “Was I that small once?” She asked to Hailey after a moment.

Ethan showed her quickly how to do it before setting his daughter down in Cass' arms. Hailey also put her hands under Cass' just to assist her at first so she didn't accidentally drop her."She's so soft," she whispered, mostly to herself when her hand happened to brush against the babys arm. Yvette made small cooing noises as she was transferred over to Cass, not really looking happy or sad. Just neutral up at her.
Cass smiled gently as she watched the infant in her arms. It made a lot of questions pop into her mind but she didn’t ask, knowing that nobody would have good answers for her. She held her quietly.

Hailey was glad that Cass seemed to be enjoying holding the baby, glad that she wasn't real nervous or anything. She glanced up to look at Nick, realizing he wasn't there. Must've stepped outside or something.Victor moved over on the couch to sit closer to Cass, looking down at Yvette as well.
"She's really tiny," he commented with a smile, reaching over and touching her hands,"And super tiny hands."
Cass nodded to Victor. She glanced to Hailey. “Did we have wings when we were this small?” She asked curiously. Nick slipped inside after a couple more minutes, keeping quiet so he wouldn’t disturb them.

Hailey glanced up when Nick came back in the house, offering him a smile from her spot. At Cass' curious, question, she had to think of that for a moment. Because honestly, she wasn't sure. Some of her own personal earliest memories was when she was 6 or 7, that was the farthest back she could go, and at that time she had wings. When Cass was 3, when they first met, she had wings. But she also remembered when she first saw Victor in the school, years ago, he did not."Maybe sweetheart. I'm...not sure," she replied honestly, smoothing her hair back a little bit.
Cass nodded to her. “Alright.” She agreed quietly, not going to keep questioning it. Nick came over and leaned over the back of the couch, pressing a quick kiss to Hailey’s head. “Doing okay?” He asked her quietly, glancing at the little girl Cass was holding.

Hailey was glad Cass didn't press her further, she really didn't have much of an answer for her. Looking at Nick when he came over, she nodded her head."Yeah I'm doing alright. Tired," she admitted, sighing a little bit.
Nick nodded. “We should probably have Cass and victor get washed up and call it an early night if we can.” He told her quietly. “I can stay out tonight and keep watch.” He added.
"I think that's it. Right down there," Hailey said as they flew over top the trees, spotting a cabin that Brandie's brother had described to her. It wasn't really like it was hard to spot after all, it was the only one around for a decent stretch. Her, being in the arms of Nick at the moment, looked up at him."Wanna go down?"
Zar hardly glanced at the cabin when Hailey pointed it out, her eyes casting back downwards. She was, very obviously and reasonably, still broken apart by what had happened to Faye.
