Zar only made it a good jump off of the cliff when Ace got in front of her. Sobbing she tried to go around him but wasn't able to."Let me go! I need her!" she yelled though her crying, not even thinking about the consequences,"We can't let them take her there!"
Hailey checked on the kids for a moment to make sure they were both doing okay, glancing towards the entrance where everyone else was. What the hell was happening? They were beat up to hell and two of their flock members were gone. Again.
Ace grabbed her gently. “We’re gonna go get her. But we’re gonna need nick and Hailey’s help.” He told her softly. “We’ve gotta stick together if we’ve got any chance of getting them back.” Nick took off and flew over to Zar and Ace.

"No, who knows what they're gonna do to her in that time! We need to go get her now!" Zar argued, shrugging off his hand as best she could and, again, tried to fly around Ace. Faye was literally everything to Zar, she needed her to be around. It was hard enough when her and Ace got caught.
Ace held her, keeping her from flying off. "We can't. You and I both know that we can't get them out if it was just you and I. We're gonna need Nick and Hailey to help us. They can't go there yet. We'd all get caught then." He told her gently. "I know you need her. We all do. And we will get her as soon as we can. Just not today."

Zar continued to sob loudly, trying again to get out of Ace's grasp but she wasn't trying all that hard anymore. She knew that he was right of course, she would never get her back alone. It would be hard to get them back with the 6 of them even."I need her," she pleaded again, sobs just raking her body now.
Ace held her gently. "I know. It's gonna be tough. But you've got me for now. I will get Faye back for you, no matter what it takes." He promised. "Come on, we need to go back with the others." He said gently, letting her go after a moment.

Zar let Ace hold onto her, not flapping her wings too much anymore. She didn't reply to his words though she did slowly start making her way back to the cave, just crumpling down to the ground once she got there though and continued crying.Hailey got up from where she was, sighing when she saw just how messed up Zar was right now. Not that she could blame her. She loved Faye after all.
Ace flew back to the cave with her. He landed beside her, closing his wings before sitting down and gently putting his arms around her. "I've got you." He promised gently.Nick flew back after a minute, staying at the mouth of the cave and watching to make sure Erasers weren't being sent to wipe them all out.

Hailey tried to think of what they should do. Should they stay here or should they leave right away? Was Chasity telling the truth that she would leave them alone? Or was that an effort to get to her lower her guard."Dammit," she cursed, pacing. Even if they did run away, how far could they go? Hailey couldn't fly, Zar was a mess, they had so much shit to take with them...It was a mess.
Nick glanced at Hailey. "Come here?" He asked gently, wanting to talk to her but he needed to keep watch. Ace needed to help Zar which meant that he and Hailey needed to figure out their plan for what to do.

Hailey looked at Nick when he called her over, giving a small glance to the kids really quickly before going over to him."What the hell should we do?" she asked him as soon as she got over to her, clearly stressing out.
Nick wrapped an arm around her gently for comfort. "We should rest a bit. And then we need to get moving. I just don't know where. And once you can fly, we'll go get them from the school." He assured her quietly.

Hailey allowed him to do this, biting her nails a bit as she listened to his words. It was gonna be kinda hard, she certainly couldn't carry anything while she tried to, horribly, float around. Someone would need to carry her."What should we do about the stuff? There's no way we can take all of that," she said to him. The easiest thing to do was have Zar carry her so the guys could do the heavy lifting, but Zar's arms were messed up so she couldn't. Plus she didn't have a lot of arms strength to begin with.
Nick shrugged. "We'll condense it down a bit. We can take some of the stuff back to the cabin and leave a note for Brandie. She'll take care of it all for us." He suggested quietly. "And then I can carry you, Ace can carry a lot of stuff and we'll figure it out."

Hailey shook her head at the suggestion to go back to the cabin."I dunno if that's a good idea. Maybe we should...leave it here? Even though I doubt we'll be coming back here anytime soon, or ever again," she said, thinking through it for a moment and then shaking her head,"You know never mind, your plan is better. But.....Brandie...." She thought for a moment, Brandie's brother lived by here....Maybe they would be able to get in touch with him, hunker at his place for a few days until they were back on their feet again. Or would that put him in danger as well?
Nick shrugged. “It’s at least not gonna rot in a cave. And it can be there if we need it or can get back here..” he commented quietly. “But what?” He asked faintly, wondering what she was thinking.

"I was just thinking, Brandie said that her brother lived by here. If I can call her...I can ask where he lives and maybe we could stay with him for a few days if he's cool with it? But at the same time, I don't wanna put him in danger," Hailey replied to him, sighing softly.

Hailey sighed a little bit, thinking it over for a second."I think it is a good idea to at least try, there's nothing we can do if he doesn't wanna take us in. We need time to rest and get our through together, a few more days and I think I'll be able to fly around better and we can go somewhere else until my wings heal and everyone is 100%," she explained with a few nods of her head,"I would just...hate if something happened to Brandie's family because they helped us."
Nick nodded. “Well give it a shot then. Do we want to call from in town or the cabin?” He asked softly, sighing. He didn’t know the best way to do this all. “And I know. I don’t want them hurt either. But we’ll let them make the choice on if they want to help or not.”

"Well since we need to go to the cabin anyways and drop off some stuff, might as well do it there," Hailey replied, glancing inside. It seemed like Zar had calmed down enough that she wasn't crying anymore, or at least not as much as she had been, and was just resting on Ace's lap."I think we should let everyone rest until tomorrow morning and then go, gives us about 9 hours to rest up, and then we go. Get down to the cabin and call Brandie and her brother."
Nick nodded to her. “Get some rest then. I’ll keep watch.” He promised, holding her gently. He let her go after a minute. Ace stayed holding Zar, providing what comfort he could. He wasn’t Faye but he was trying his best to help her.

Nick shrugged. “I don’t want to sleep right now. Someone’s gotta make sure erasers don’t come..” he mumbled. He knew she could keep watch but he didn’t want her to have to.

Hailey was far to tired, far too stressed out to really argue with him so she nodded her head."Take turns? Wake me up halfway through so you can sleep at least a little bit?" she offered as compromise.
Nick sighed but nodded. “Alright.” He agreed softly. He ran a hand through his hair before sitting down at the cave entrance. “I’ll wake you later..” he promised.

Hailey nodded, leaning down and giving his head a small kiss. She moved back into the cave more and went to Ace and Zar, putting a small hand on her back."Zar it'll be okay, you know? We'll get Faye back, Hunt too," she told her.
Zar didn't look up from where she was buried in Ace's chest but she did offer the smallest of nods, sniffling a little bit.
Nick smiled weakly at her. He kept watching around them, falling silent and trying to not let his mind wander. Ace nodded slightly. “We should try and get some sleep Zar, do you want me to lay with you?” He offered to her gently, trying to help.

Again, Zar gave a small nod to Ace's words, slowly moving herself back from him and wiping at her face. She felt like crap, her arms and legs hurt and not only was Hunt gone, but they had taken Faye too.Hailey helped her sit up straight, offering a small smile to Hunt and then moved to get the kids all settled down for bed.
Ace let her go so she could get up and go lay down. He moved his stuff over to be close before laying down near her. Cass wouldn't really settle down, freaked out and crying a bit. She'd been trying to keep it together but she was scared that she'd go to sleep and then more of them would be gone when she woke up.

Zar moved slowly, using her backpack as a pillow. Sniffling a bit more, the tears started going down her cheeks more as she laid there. It had been a few months since she slept without Zar, the last time being when her and Ace had been taken. She didn't like the feeling of it."Shush honey I know. Everything is fine," Hailey whispered to Cass, gathering the young child in her arms and rocking her back and forth in her lap.
Victor, also, was pretty freaked out, though wasn't crying like Cass was. He wrapped his arms around Hailey's arm, taking one of Cass' hands as well to try and calm her.
Ace stayed close by her. He reached and gently put one of his hands over hers. "I got you. I know I'm not quite as cuddly as Faye but I'm here." He whispered.Cass curled up and tried to calm down.
Nick frowned and glanced back at them. "They can come sit with me for a bit if they want to stay up for a bit longer." He offered to Hailey, trying to help.

Zar opened her eyes when he took her hand, sniffling a bit more but she did take his hand back, closing her eyes again and trying to find sleep. Really she was just so exhausted from everything today, getting hurt, helping Hailey with her flying, all the crying she did. She actually fell asleep quite easy, even though it didn't appear that she was at all comfortable."It's alright, we'll all probably end up falling asleep soon," Hailey replied to Nick's words, smiling at him,"Thank you though." He continued to rock back and forth with Cass, running her fingers through her hair.
Ace rubbed her hand gently. He closed his eyes for a few and tried to sleep. It took him a bit but he eventually dozed off.Nick nodded and let them be. He shifted and leaned back against the cave wall as he watched outside.
Cass slowly settled down and fell asleep in Hailey's arms.

Hailey waited as long as it took for Cass to fall asleep, actually finding herself leaning to the side a little bit as well, though Victor was doing quite the good job of supporting her. Once she was asleep, she set her down carefully and grabbed a blanket."Sleep next to her, yeah?" she said, looking over at Victor who nodded and laid down next to Cass, Hailey putting a blanket over the both of them afterwards. Standing up, she sent a glance to Ace and Zar, grabbing another blanket they had and putting it over the both of them as well, then going to the cave entrance where Nick was, sitting down next to him."I'm going to go to sleep I promise. I just wanna sit with you for a second."
Nick kept quiet, watching outside. He picked absently at his scraped knuckles. He glanced at Hailey when she sat by him, nodding before gently putting his arm around her. "That's fine." He assured. He leaned his head against hers gently for a moment. "They're all asleep?" He asked quietly.

Nick nodded slightly. "She's had a pretty long day between helping you and then everything. But that's good that they're all resting." He agreed. He stayed close by her side. "You can lay over here near me if you really want to."

Hailey sighed softly when he started doing that, liking it. It made her yawn once again and her eyes slowly started to close, though she tried to keep them open if she was able to.
"Just get some sleep Hailey, it'll be okay." Nick promised her softly, continuing to play with her hair. It was something simple to focus on rather than his anger and guilt about failing to keep the flock together.

Hailey glanced up at him when he spoke and nodded a little bit, relaxing down and closing her eyes. It wasn't long after she closed her eyes that she fell asleep, snoring very softly.
Nick kept playing with her hair until she dozed off. He kept quiet so she could sleep, not wanting to wake her up to take over keeping watch for him. She needed the rest.
