Hunt joined him, sitting down next to him and looking up. Being in there with the others had been fun, he had to admit. It just sucked it had to be the water.Hailey was doing pretty good, keeping it slow seemed to be the key to her not almost drowning. So that's what she did.
Ace smiled a bit and stayed close to his side. He put his hand on Hunt's arm "You're warm," He mumbled, immediately moving closer. Nick didn't mind going slow, keeping pace with her. It seemed to work out much better for her to be able to keep afloat that way so he didn't push it. They didn't need to be able to swim great, just enough to stay afloat if needed.

Hunt looked at him when he was touched, smiling softly at him."Thank you, though I typically always am," he said, letting him come closer. He yawned after a moment, covering his mouth as he did so. He hadn't slept at all last night after all and swimming tended to take a lot out of a person.
Hailey managed to make it all the way back over to the others, unable to tread water easily though. Or more so like not at all. So she went right back over to Nick, holding onto him.
Ace smiled and nodded. "True." He agreed. "You should take a nap." He told him with a shrug, "You really need it." He leaned a bit closer to Hunt, not trying to invade his space but just being close.Nick slipped his arm around her once they'd reached the others, holding her up. He could touch the ground there so he didn't even have to tread water to stay up.

"Yeah....that might actually be a good idea," Hunt replied, yawning yet again as he sat there. He laid down beside Ace, stretching a little bit."Good job swimming Hailey," Zar said, her floating on her back while Victor swam underneath her, then came back up, then went to the other side.
"Thanks," Hailey said somewhat out of breath, keeping hold to Nick,"I honestly expected to be doing worse."
Ace laid down near him, smiling gently. "I'll wake you for food." He reassured teasingly.Faye swam a bit with Cass, helping her get some practice with swimming and treading water, figuring that Zar was fine with Vic. She listened when the others came back to join them.
Nick held her close to him, leaning his head on hers absently. "You just needed some more practice. Plus you had reason to be swimming." He told Hailey softly.

(( No no you're fine, I just wanted to make sure ^^ ))"Okay," Hunt said with a chuckle, turning onto his side to he was facing Ace. He yawned once more and his eyes closed, within a few moment he was already asleep.
"True," Hailey replied, watching the girls help the smaller kids. She wished she would be able to help them as well, but really it was her who needed practice too. Oh well, she did her best. Not like she had to be great at everything.
((^^))Ace turned his head to look at him, smiling gently. He looked away after a minute to let him sleep.
Nick stayed with her, watching the younger kids swim a bit and noting how good they seemed to be at it. He didn't care that Hailey wasn't good at swimming, she was the best at many other things where the others couldn't even come close.

(( Aww....Nick, you're cute XD ))"Oh Hailey!" Victor said when he noticed her over with them, paddling over to her and teading water, sloppily, but he was doing it,"Wanna do a hold breath competition? See who can do it longer? You can do it with us too if you want Nick."
Hailey looked at the boy when he came over and asked and, while the idea of dipping her head under for a long time kinda freaked her out, she wasn't gonna say no.
"Sure kiddo," she replied.
(They're all so cute)Faye laughed a bit at Vic pulling them in to do it too. "Zar's got the record so far." She commented. "So good luck."
Nick glanced at Hailey when she agreed right away. "You can hold onto my arm, I won't let you float off to who knows where." He assured before glancing at Vic. "Hailey can go first, and then I'll try." he told him.

(( Yush ^^ ))"Okay, you and I will go first Hailey, see who can do it longer," Victor said with a bright smile.
Hailey nodded, thankful for Nick's support. She let the young boy count down and then they both went under the water, Hailey holding onto Nick's hand tightly as she did this so she stayed basically in place.
((Yesss ^^)Faye helped Cass come back over near them so she could keep count of how many seconds they stayed under. Cass held onto Faye and started counting when they went under.
Nick held Hailey's hand, helping keep her from floating off too far or anything. He silently counted the seconds in his head.

Both of them stayed under pretty well and it was Hailey who actually needed to come up sooner, pulling herself up with Nick's hand. She had lasted about 28 seconds and Victor came up a few seconds later, looking to see if Hailey was up."Hey I beat you!" he said with a smile.
Hailey, catching her breath, chuckled at him.
"You sure did," she replied. It wasn't more so that she ran out of breath, it's that she started freaking out a bit from being under there too long.
Cass told them the time once they'd both come back up, smiling a bit and congratulating Vic. Nick wrapped his arm back around Hailey when she surfaced, glancing at her to make sure she was alright. "Do you want to head where it's a little shallower so you can stand while I compete against Vic?" He offered.

Hailey was alright now that she wasn't completely submerged with water. She pushed her hair out of her face and shook her head at Nick."No it's okay," she replied.
"Here, I'll hold onto you Hailey," Zar offered, offering her arm for her, which Hailey went over to and held onto the other girl.
NIck nodded slightly to her. "alright." He smiled a bit and made sure she was alright with Zar. He glanced to Vic to make sure he was ready, letting him count them down before taking a breath and ducking underwater.

Victor went down when Nick did as well, taking a deep breath like he did before.Zar counted for them, knowing that Cass was doing it as well. She also kept a firm hold on Hailey so she wouldn't be struggling.
Nick stayed under water, not struggling with holding his breath at all. It honestly felt a bit easy at first. He didn't bother counting for himself, just trying to stay under for as long as possible.

This time it was Victor who needed to come up for air first, lasting about as long as he did with Hailey, about 34 seconds. He seemed fine with that though, just waited for Nick to come back up and see how long he managed to hold his breath.
Nick stayed underwater for a few minutes before his lungs finally demanded that he come up for air. He resurfaced after around 4 and a half minutes, taking a breath and glancing at Cass and Zar to hear how long he’d been underwater.

By the time Nick came back up, everyone was staring at him in shock, especially Victor and Hailey."You were until there for almost 5 minutes! That's almost as long as Zar help her breath!" Victor said, just completely amazed. Little kid energy, it was a great thing sometimes.
"Wow, I'm impressed," Hailey said, still holding onto Zar.
Nick glanced between them, raising an eyebrow. “There was no way I was under that long. It didn’t feel that long.” He commented. He listened to Vic and smiled a bit at him. He loved how he had so much energy and was open to whatever the flock suggested and the energy certainly helped everyone else a bit too. He ran a hand through his hair. “So do I have to compete against Zar now?” He asked Vic.

"You totally were," Zar said from her spot next to Hailey, looking at Vic to see if he wanted the two of them to go down."I wanna see who can stay under longer!" Victor said with a smile, excited already.
Nick smiled and shrugged. “Alright then,” he agreed, not questioning her. “I just need a minute first and then we can go under and see who can stay longer.” He said softly, looking to Zar to make sure she was up for the challenge as well. Faye helped cass swim back to where she could touch the floor. She wanted to watch and count but all the swimming was tiring her out.

"Okay," Zar replied, looking at Hailey, who was still clinging onto her,"Wanna go over to the shallow part? We might be under there for a bit."Hailey looked at her when she asked that, thinking that might be a good idea...But she just shook her head.
"I can manage. I'll go over if I can't stay up," she replied.
Faye swam back over to the others. “I can help you stay up if needed too.” She said softly to Hailey, treading water by her. She smiled. “This’ll be interesting though.”Nick smiled a bit and watched them. “Whenever you guys are ready.” He told them, waiting patiently until they were ready.

"Okay, thanks," Hailey replied, probably going to need that honestly. Thankfully Victor seemed to be pretty good at treading water by now, not needing to hold onto anyone.Zar also moved away from Hailey slowly, making sure she was good before moving slightly closer to Nick. And when Victor told them to go, she went under.
Faye nodded. She kept an eye on vic and Hailey, making sure that they both were doing alright and didn’t need any help. Nick waited until Vic told them to go before taking a big breath and plunging under water. He held his breath and relaxed a bit under the water, not trying to pay any attention to Zar or anything, focused just on how long he could stay under the water.

Hailey managed to tread for just a little bit, maybe about a minute before it got too hard for her. She paddled over to Faye and put a hand on her shoulder, brushing some of the water out of her face."Dunno why that's so hard," she grumbled.
Zar also stayed out of Nicks way, doing what she did last time and swimming over to the deeper part of the lake. Just having a grand old time.
Faye didn’t mind Hailey using her to stay afloat. “That’s cause it’s exhausting to tread water. Even if you know what you’re doing.” She answered with a slight shrug, watching the others. Nick stayed where he was, keeping his eyes shut and just chilling where he was underwater v

"I guess...you guys do it okay though," Hailey replied, looking under the water to see if she could see them. Nick was still visible a bit, but Zar had gone off to the other part of the lake. So her not so much.
Faye shrugged. “We get in the water more, almost whenever we get the chance. You don’t. You’re not a fan of it.” She noted, glancing over at her. “So we’ve got more practice and I don’t know. There may be some sort of genetic influences on it as well...” she guessed after a moment, thinking about it.

"Yeah I know. Still, it should be pretty simple if you think about it," Hailey replied. Really it was whatever, they were all meant for the sky at the end of the day, not the water. So she was still damn good at what she was mad for so that's all the mattered.
Faye nodded slightly in agreement. “Good point.” She commented. “Do you think the avian dna in ya has affected beyond just our wings? Like making us more adept for certain things?” She asked Hailey curiously, wondering her thoughts about it. She had her own opinions but was curious about haileys ideas too.

"Yeah it has to," Hailey replied with a nod,"There's thing we can do that normal humans can't, things with our bodies that humans don't have." She rarely ever referred to herself as a human, cause she didn't even feel like it half the time honestly. The avian DNA in them was pretty strong, but she always had a feeling that they maybe put more in her then the others.
Faye nodded slightly. “It’s kinda a weird concept to think about...” she mumbled. “Cause we seem so similar but also so not, depending on what you look at..” she glanced over at her.

"Yeah I mean, we look exactly like humans so, minus the wings. But our inside are different too, we have air sacs like birds do that humans don't have," Hailey said with a shrug,"The avian DNA, as small an amount as it was, did a lot to us."
Faye shrugged. “I think they gave us a decent bit more than what amount they claimed to us. Or it was a mix of avian and other stuff. Cause it doesn’t add up. You and nick have these unique traits that are not avian or human. We probably all do honestly.” She reasoned quietly

Faye nodded slightly. “that or some sort of experimental stuff. You two shouldn’t be able to do what you can do. Completely disappear. Move things without touching them. It’s not human, it’s not avian. It’s not any creature as far as I’m aware..”

Hailey nodded, considering it. It was a possibility after all, none of them really knew what the scientists were cooking up in that lab. They just knew what they were bothered to be told, that they were 99% human, 1% avian. But she wouldn't doubt it if there was some other stuff mingled in with that."Yeah I see what you're saying," she replied.
“I don’t know what they did. But it’s likely gonna affect all of us someday..” she commented, shrugging a bit st her. “It’s so weird to think about.” She shook her head slightly and looked around for nick and Zar.

"Who even knows really. All the more reason to go after and figured out what this institution was," Hailey replied, not knowing that Faye wanted to do though. But if she had to guess, she had to figure Faye was part of them that wanted to settle down and forget all of this was happening. That was her guess anyways.Zar was still happily under the water, just swimming around in long circles around the deeper part of the lake.
Faye shrugged at her. She was on the fence about it honestly. She was curious to Know what exactly had made them the way they were. But at the same time, it didn’t matter. They existed and whatever happened was going to happen so why bother knowing way more about their existence than they needed to. Nick was starting to want to come up for air but he was determined to stay under as long as he could.

Hailey didn't say anything else on the matter, just held onto Faye while the two of them were still under the water. She couldn't believe they were still holding their breaths after this long honestly.
Faye glanced over to Hailey. "Are they dead?" She asked jokingly, hearing Vic still counting and they were past 4 minutes. She looked around the water, trying to spot either of them.

"Um....probably not," Hailey replied, also glancing around. She couldn't see Nick, but she would be surprised if he was staying so still that he had turned invisible. And Zar, well, she was too deep for her to figure out where she was.It was about 2 minutes later at the 6 minute mark when Zar finally came up for some air, being decently far away from them in the deeper part of the lake.
Nick stayed close to her, swimming close by her and taking his time as well. He looked over at her often, making sure she wasn't tiring or struggling too much.
