Faye went a little deeper than Zar until she couldn't stand anymore, gently treading water to stay afloat. She grinned when she heard the kids, glancing at them. "You're not gonna melt if you get in the water Hunt! Come join us!" She called out to them, hoping they would. It was good for them all to just screw around and have some fun.

"I'm coming I'm coming, jeez!" Hunt replied with a small laugh, letting them drag him over,"Take your clothes off or change into something else, you don't wanna swim like that."

Victor let go of his hand and went over to the pile of clothes Hailey was working on hanging up.

"Oh yeah sure, take the clothes I just washed," Hailey said with a frown, though she was smiling. She found some shorts and a tank top for Cass to change into, them being wet but hey, she was gonna get wet anyways."Sweetie come get this and change."

Faye laughed a bit and smiled at them. She moved and gently floated on her back in the water. She turned her head to glance at Zar.

Ace smiled and followed after Hunt. He took off his shoes and shirt, leaving his shorts on and waiting on Hunt so he could drag him into the water.

Cass came over to Hailey, thanking her quietly. She went and quickly changed before coming back, frowning a bit at the cold clothes so she immediately went into the water near the girls

Hunt, like Hailey, wasn't the biggest fan of swimming. But he was fine with, you know, dipping his feet in every now and then. He knew how to swim, most of them did know very well since they taught themselves just in case they needed it. But that didn't mean he had to like it. This was a time to relax though so he figured he'd at least go in with the kids so he took off his shoes and shirt as well, leaving them by Ace's stuff.

Victor quickly got changed into some wet shorts and a shirt before going into the water, paddling over to where the girls were and, since it was rather deep for the little ones, he put a hand on Zar's shoulder to keep him up better.

Zar didn't mind Victor touching her, she also put an arm out for Cass to hold onto if she needed it.

Ace smiled and wrapped his arms around Hunt, tugging him over into the water. “I told you id throw you in. Well. Drag you in.” He teased softly.

Faye shifted and got back to her feet when the kids came to join them, knowing they weren’t the greatest at swimming yet. They hadn’t had much practice like the others had. She held her arm out and Cass came over to her instead, not wanting to weigh Zar down too much.

Hunt felt his stomach drop when Ace started pulling him towards the water, but he didn't let it show. He had kept his dislike of swimming very secret from the rest of the Flock.
"That you did, that you did," he replied, grinning after a moment. Once they got close enough, he switched them, which wasn't that hard since he was stronger than Ace was, and instead pushed him into the water.

Zar was fine with Cass going over there as well, looking over at Victor who swam away from Zar for a moment to do a little circle on his own before coming back over to her.

Ace fell back into the water, slipping underwater before quickly resurfacing. He looked at him, smiling and shaking his head. “Hey! That was not what was supposed to happen.” He protested, pushing his hair out of his face.

Cass stayed near Faye, trying to swim a bit. Faye stayed close and helped her, letting her just swim around a bit and get some practice.

"That surely wasn't what was suppose to happen...but nothing stopped it from being the thing that ended up happening," Hunt said with a laugh, keeping some distance between him and the edge of the lake so Ace couldn't just drag him in by his foot.

"I'm gonna see how long I can hold my breath," Victor said, taking a deep breath in before going underwater, though he kept hold of Zar's arm.

Ace rolled his eyes. He walked back to the edge of the water, getting out and hugging hunt as he was sipping wet. “There. You’ve basically been in the water now.” He teased with a grin.

((Ooh. Yes.)

Cass glanced over and watched as victor went under, quietly counting the seconds. She wasn’t sure how long was normal though so she thought about asking the others how long they could hold their breath.

Nick had gotten the supplies plus a few extras, heading back to the camp. He found the note and tucked it into his pocket before picking up the stuff and flying off to join them at the lake. He watched them from above, smiling a bit.

Hunt's eyes widened when Ace got out, sure that he was gonna push him in. But he just hugged him, though that wasn't enough to keep him from being suspicious of him still doing something.
"Mh yes, wet," he said with a laugh.

Victor was able to hold it for about 13 seconds before he came up for air, looking at Zar and smiling.
"How was that?" he asked.

Zar looked back at him and offered a sweet smile.
"That was good little man," she replied.

Ace rolled his eyes at him. “So are you are newly hired lifeguard?” He asked teasingly, not going to force hunt into the water though he was slightly surprised that Hunt didn’t just immediately join them like he thought he would. He leaned his head on hunts shoulder.

Cass smiled at victor when he surfaced. “I counted 13 seconds.” She told him before moving and gently taking Faye’s arm. “My turn so you get to count.” She said before taking a breath and going underwater.

Nick dove down quietly. He didn’t plan on trying to scare Hailey exactly, more just deciding to lurk until he was noticed. He landed near some of their stuff and set the supplies down before quietly walking over behind Hailey.

"Yup, keep all of ya out of trouble," Hunt replied with a chuckle, letting Ace lean on him. It was really nice after all.

"Okay," Victor replied, holding onto Zar while Cass went under the water as well.

Hailey didn't notice Nick at first at all, the guy was like a damn snake after all, slithering around so quietly. She just kept on hanging up clothes on a line she had tied between two trees, hoping to dry most of them off before they headed out for the day day to camp. It was still early though.

“Hmm. So in other words I can’t go cause trouble cause you’re gonna stop me?” He asked, glancing at him. “That sucks.” He smiled at him before letting go, wanting to get back in the water. He knew it wasn’t great to be soaked if they needed to fly off again real quick but it was nice to just relax a bit.

Cass stayed under water for about 10 seconds before surfacing again, frowning a bit at herself as she’d been counting while she was underwater. She glanced to Vic.

Nick quietly stalked over to the tree that one end of the line was tied to. He tapped the line, letting it bounce a little bit. He leaned on the tree trunk, unsure if he was visible or not. He figured he was but then again, Hailey usually noticed him before he could get that close to her.

"I never said I was a good lifeguard," Hunt said with a chuckle, leaning back to look at him and he gave his lips a quick peck,"Go back in the water before you get too cold."

"10 seconds," Victor said with a smile, looking at Zar,"How long can you hold your breath?"

"About 3 minutes," Zar replied, shrugging,"But I swim a lot more than you guys do."

Hailey was focused on what she was doing, probably why she hadn't noticed Nick yet. When the line was disturbed though, she looked around, seeing him against the tree trunk.
"How long have you been there?" she asked with a raise of her eyebrows.

Ace smiled. “Fair point.” He agreed. He grinned at the kiss before getting back into the water and swimming over near the others.

Cass shook her head slightly in disbelief. “There’s no way you can hold your breath that long. Prove it.” She challenged her with a hesitant smile.

“Uhh. I landed probably like two minutes ago. I set everything down and came over here. You were off in your own little world till I messed with the rope.” Nick summarized, shrugging at her.

Hunt smiled and watched as he went over with the others, sighing a bit. He did go to the edge and sit down with his feet in the water, watching. He'd get in if they asked him to.

Zar blinked at Cass when she said that, but smiled a bit. She let Victor go, who went over to Faye instead and held onto her shoulder, before she did go under the water to show Cass.

"Oh...well damn you're too quiet," Hailey replied, but she smiled at him,"Everything go okay with shopping?"

Ace stayed near the others for a bit before coming back near to hunt. “You sure you’re not gonna come in?” He asked him softly.

Faye shifted and let them both hold onto her, watching Zar to make sure she was doing alright. Cass quietly counted the seconds

Nick rolled his eyes. “That’s nothing new. I’ve always been quiet.” He shrugged at her and smiled a bit. “Yeah. Everything went fine. Got everything on the list. And some extras.”

Hunt looked at him when he came back over and he smiled.
"I'll come in if you want me to," he replied.

Zar easily stayed under the water, swimming around a little bit into the deeper part.

Hailey rolled her eyes back at him, hanging up the last of the clothes and sighing, glad that it was done.
"That's good, managed to get everything we needed?" she asked.

“I do but only if you want to.” Ace shrugged at him. “You can stay out here if you’d rather..”

Faye kept an eye on Zar as she swam about. She seemed to be the best in the water out of all of them and could certainly hold her breath for a while.

“Yep. As I said. I got all the stuff on the list and then some extra stuff that I managed to swipe.” Nick shrugged. “I put it all by the rest of our stuff so we can sort it out later..”

"It's okay," Hunt said, easily dropping down into the water. He wasn't sure what it was about the water he disliked, knowing at least one of them was being completely under the water. That freaked him out. But the rest, well, he didn't know. He just smiled at Ace though."Lets go over with the others."

"Okay, thanks for doing the run for us," Hailey replied, looking at everyone in the water.

Ace smiled gently. He nodded to hunt and swam back over to the others, careful not to accidentally run into Zar. He glanced back to hunt, smiling at him.

Nick nodded. “Yeah. Of course. It wasn’t any trouble.” He assured her softly. “How was everything here?” He asked curiously, noticing everything seemed to be just fine.

Hunt was also careful not to hit Zar, seeing her swimming around and he looked at the others.
"What's she doing?" he questioned, not having heard what was going on.

"She said she could hold her breath for 3 minutes, we wanted to see if she was telling the truth," Victor replied, watching her with amazement that she was still under there.

"Everything went fine. We came here just a little bit after you left cause Victor wanted to. Did laundry and, well, now they're all playing," Hailey replied with a motion in their direction.

Ace could still barely touch the bottom around where they stood so he didn’t even have to tread water. He watched Zar swim around, smiling faintly.

Cass kept quiet, still mumbling the seconds as she counted them, Zar nearing 3 minutes under water. She glanced to Faye, a bit surprised.

Nick nodded slightly. “You gonna go join them?” He suggested though he doubted it, knowing she disliked the water.

Zar actually managed to remain under there for another 2 minutes, so nearly 5 minutes under water before she came up for air, looking at the kids.

"What the heck!? You were under there so long!" Victor said in amazement, his eyes wide as he looked at her.

"You know as well as I do that I hate swimming," Hailey replied to him with a shake of her head. Not only that but out of everyone she was the worst swimmer. As in worse then the kids were even. She was barley able to tread water. Sure in a dire circumstance, she'd probably manage, but not in everyday life.

Cass smiled a bit at Zar. “That was a really long time. I almost lost count.” She commented softly, looking st her.

Nick nodded. “I know. I just figured I’d double check..” he smiled a bit at her. “I’ll join you staying on the beach then?” He offered so she wouldn’t be alone and so he could keep an eye on the others.

Zar smiled shyly at the kids compliments and shrugged.
"Maybe if you practice enough you'll end up beating me at it," she told them.

"You can go in there if you want. I'll just, you know, dangle my feet in the water," Hailey replied, looking at the others. She had gone in the water one other time after the incident when she was younger, but it had been on Ace's back....And she only lasted, like, 10 minutes before she wanted out.

“Maybe.” Cass smiled and shrugged though she doubted it. They all seemed to have their own completely unique skill sets.

Nick shrugged. “I could. Or I could just get a chance to sit with you. Something we don’t really get much of honestly.” He commented, watching her.

Zar smiled and moved so she was floating on her back, letting Victor come back over to her though and hold onto her. She could do that and float at the same time.

Hailey blushed a little bit at his words and cleared her throat.
"Yeah I mean...that works too," she replied, smiling a bit afterwards.

Faye smiled a bit. She nodded to Cass when she asked to see how long she could hold her breath for. She waited until she had swam over near the boys and had someone to hold onto before taking a breath and diving underwater.

Nick smiled at her and nodded. “You’re blushing.” He teased her lightly, coming over to her.

Hunt ended up taking Cass so she wouldn't be in danger, looking at Faye when she went down. As much as he hated the water, he supposed it was nice to get to spend time with the others when they were having fun.

"S-shut up," Hailey grumbled, scratching the back of her head. She couldn't help it sometimes, it was Nick! It was all his fault...

Cass thanked him, taking his arm as she treaded water by his side. She counted the seconds for Faye, smiling a bit when it took almost 2 minutes for her to resurface again.

Nick smiled brightly at her. “What? It’s just an observation..” he said softly. “I don’t know how I get you to blush so much though. I’m just stating simple facts...”

"Yeah yeah, whatever," Hailey replied, looking at him for a moment more before she went over to the edge of the lake, looking at everyone in there who seemed to be going back and forth to see who could hold their breath the longest.

Faye smiled and shrugged. “We’ve just had more practice. As Zar said, you guys will likely be able to do it too someday.” She assured them.

Nick followed after her, sitting near the edge of the lake. “It’s nice to have them all together and playing. Feels almost normal.” He commented softly, glancing up at Hailey.

"Yeah maybe," Victor replied, looking over at Ace and Hunt,"What about you guys? How long can you hold your breaths?"

Hunt blinked when Victor looked at him, immediately looking at Ace.
"Yeah Ace, how long can you hold your breath?" he asked him, trying to a avert any sort of thing that involved dipping your head under the water away from him.

Hailey also sat down, taking her shoes off and putting her feet in the water, the edged of her jeans getting a little wet, but that didn't bother her.
"Yeah it is. Gives them some time to relax," she replied.

Ace glanced at Hunt and shrugged, not going to challenge him back to see how long he could hold his breath. He seemed hesitant enough about getting in the water anyways. “I don’t know. Probably not very long..” he commented. “I guess we’ll find out.” He took a breath and dove underwater, trusting Cass to count for him.

Nick nodded. “Yep.” He laid back on the beach, glancing over at her. “We probably have to figure out a plan at some point.”

Hunt was glad that he went under water first, cause he would probably be able to figure out a way of distracting the younger kids about him going under there somehow by the time he came back up. Hopefully anyways.

Hailey looked at him when he said that.
"You mean moving forward? Like our next step?" she asked.

Ace only lasted about 30 seconds before he had to come up for air, glancing to Cass when she stated the time. “Damn. Guess im gonna have to practice.” He commented with a smile.

Nick nodded slightly. “Yeah. Cause my plans clearly aren’t working that well..”

"Wow, you really can't hold your breath for very long can you?" Hunt teased him slightly. He could already feel Victors eyes on him, waiting for him to go down and test it as well, but he would not. Nope he drew the line there. He got in the damn water, that was as far as he was gonna go.

"I wouldn't say that. We probably could've gone back to the cabin after they left, it was just better not to risk it," Hailey replied with a shrug,"You're doing fine."

Ace grinned at him. “I guess you’re gonna have to work on that with me.” he teased faintly. He wouldn’t try and get hunt to go underwater, swimming over close to him and slipping an arm around him.


Nick shrugged. “We need a better long term plan than that though honestly.” He said quietly, looking over at her.

Hunt laughed somewhat nervously, completely avoiding Victors gaze so the child hopefully wouldn't ask him about his holding breath skills, to which he had none under water. Instead he looked at Cass, who was less likely to ask him about it in his opinion.
"Lets go and swim over there, I wanna see how fast you are," she said to the girl.

"Yeah I know. I still wanna figure out what the Institution is though, figure out some sorta way to stop the School," Hailey replied. Out of them all, she appeared the most interested in that, putting a stop to everything for good. The others appeared content to find someplace to hold down and live, but her, well, she wasn't...

Ace let hunt go, smiling gently at him. “guess you better race her.” He commented, glancing between hunt and vic. “three way race there and back?” He suggested, glad to get hunt out of having to go underwater since he seemed to really not want to do it.

Nick nodded. “That’s fair. But I think we need somewhere safe first. And to let the kids choose if they want to be a part of it or not.” He said quietly. He wanted to burn the school down and destroy it all but at the same time, he tried to focus on protecting their flock. The rest of them were just kids. They didn’t deserve to be forced into it.

Hunt shrugged his shoulders at the suggestion.
"I'm game. What about you little man?" he asked Victor.

Victor nodded and moved away from Zar, paddling over to Hunt and Cass.
"It should be all four of us. Me, Cass, Hunt and Ace," he said with a smile.

"Yeah you make a good point. I don't wanna drag them in if they'd rather sit it out," Hailey replied, knowing that she'd probably end up going it alone though, or at least almost alone. Cause even if Nick wanted to help, someone would need to stay and watch them.

ace smiled and nodded. “Alright. Let’s go then.” He agreed, looking to Faye and Zar. “You two get to watch for cheaters and see who wins.” He told them.

Faye nodded. “Alright. Get ready to go then.” She said, shifting so she was standing on the ground and could watch them.


Nick nodded, looking at her. “They’re just kids. This isn’t their fight. Maybe it would be if they were a bit older but they’re not. They’re still young. They deserve a chance at normality if we can give it to them. Or as close as possible.” He said faintly, shrugging. He’d go with her. But he wouldn’t ask the rest of the flock to.

Zar looked at them and smiled slightly, staying over with Faye.

"Yeah I know, I get it. I agree. If they don't wanna be part of it, then they shouldn't be," Hailey replied with a nod.

Faye nodded slightly. She waited until they were all ready before telling them to go. She watched to make sure none of them cheated as they raced each other.

Nick nodded slightly. “we just need to get them safe. And then we can go off to maybe finish the school for good.” He agreed softly.

Victor went when Faye told them too, managing to swim a bit better then the paddling around her was doing earlier.

Hunt didn't put his face under the water at all, just swam steadily above the water. Sure it probably looked weird for racing, but oh freaking well! He still managed to go a decent speed.

"Okay. Well that involves us still getting up to the next state and finding someplace," Hailey replied, looking up at the sky for a moment,"We'll still have to go to a temporary place while we search around for a permanent one. The cabin Brandie mentioned would be a good place to hold up for a good bit of time though."

Faye smiled and watched them swim. Cass wasn’t doing as great and ace slowed a bit obviously to keep up with her and also make sure she was okay and didn’t exhaust herself or anything.

Nick nodded. “That might work best. We know that cabin is safe. At least relatively. We could hole up there. It would keep the kids safe and we can go take care of some stuff with the school and everything...”

Victor seemed to be doing the best out of all of them, starting to slow down after a little bit though cause she was getting tired. But he was still going! Hunt was, you know, paddling around, keeping as much water out of his face as possible.

"Yeah I agree. It was super lucky, Ace and I managing to find her," Hailey replied, since she had not only saved Nick but had given them a place they could stay if they needed it. Which well, they kinda needed it.

Ace didn’t care if he lost, it was more just fun to swim around. It wasn’t an actual race where it mattered who won or lost. He stayed back a bit, letting cass pull ahead of him as he feigned being tired.

Nick nodded slightly. “Yeah. It worked out pretty well for us all things considered.” He agreed softly, glancing at her. “Maybe stay here one more night and then we can find it tomorrow?” He suggested.

By the time they made it back to the girls, Victor got there first and Hunt had fallen back with Cass and Ace, making sure the young girl was still doing alright.

"If that's what you wanna do then sure, sounds good to me," Hailey replied with a smile, looking up at the others in the water. She caught Victor smiling at her brightly and offered one back to him. As much as she hated being in one spot for too long, seeing them having fun like this warmed her heart.
