Faye sat up and just watched everyone for a few, yawning and trying to wake up. “Not much. I guess nap time’s over though for everyone. Except Hailey..” she replied softly.

Nick smiled s bit as he watched them. He watched hunt carefully, making sure he was alright. “Were just waiting for nightfall and then are gonna go from there..” he answered. He grabbed his water bottle and drank a bit more of it

Hunt listened to their words, nodding a bit. He yawned again, stretching, though it was painful.
"Well she's a bum," he said, just teasing. He himself laid back down and turned onto his side, trying to catch some more zzz's,"We're leaving tonight then I hope?"

Nick rolled his eyes. He shrugged. “We’ll see how you’re doing by then..” he answered softly. “Just get some more rest for now.” He told him before glancing at the other three.
“So while were gone, you three are gonna need to stay in here. Okay? No flying around or anything unneeded. If you’re hidden, you’ll be safer..” he told them. “You’ll have plenty of food and water stocked up that you won’t need to leave for that. I know it’ll get boring around here but it’s just so we don’t risk it...” nick ran a hand through his hair.

Hunt mumbled something like "I've been fine since we got here" before he was fast asleep once more, his shirt raised up a bit to show his stomach.

Victor listened to his words and nodded in understanding once he was done.
"Kay," he said simply, looking back at Hailey, who was still asleep. He wanted her to wake up, but he supposed that she was probably tired too. Sleep was important after all...

Faye nodded slightly. “Okay. We can do that.” She assured. She glanced over at hunt, checking on him. “Anything we need to do in the next little while then?” She asked softly.

Nick shook his head. “Just take it easy. Figure out if there’s anything you guys want me to grab.. I’m gonna make as many runs as I can in a reasonable time getting essentials first and then whatever else.” He suggested.

Victor nodded at his words, thinking about the legos he had back at the house, a whole box full. That would be nice to have at the cave....or even some coloring books. He sighed, realizing he was thinking too much like a child. Well, he was technically, he was only 11. But still, he was tough. He knew he was. Pouting a bit, he leaned back a bit against Hailey, making her stir a bit. He was afraid she woke up but she only turned onto her side, pulling Victor closer to her in her sleep.

Nick looked over at victor. “Whatcha thinking?” He asked softly. He was already planning on making a few extra trips if he could to bring at least one thing they each enjoyed doing to the cave so they could make it feel like a home, at least for a bit until they figured out where to go to next. He figured that victor and cass could use that especially. Same with all of them. Despite everything, they were all still kids.

Victor looked over at Nick when he asked that, still pouting a bit. He just shook his head, looking down at Hailey's arm around him.
"Nothin," he replied. He didn't easily talk to the other guys in the Flock, he could of course, but he migrated more towards opening up to the girls and being a bit more comfortable around them.

Nick raised an eyebrow and shrugged. “Faye, you wanna ask him then?” He suggested, knowing how victor gravitated more towards the girls of the flock. He ran a hand through his hair and looked outside again, wanting to go and start getting stuff.

Faye shrugged slightly. “Maybe later. What do you need for tonight?” She asked nick, trying to find something to do.

Nick shrugged. “A duffel bag or two if we’ve got them here. Otherwise, I’ll grab the ones from the house. I don’t know other than that.” He answered softly.

Victor listened to them talk, going back to looking up at the ceiling. He was bored, he wanted to do something, but he didn't know what. He felt Hailey moved behind him and he looked over, seeing her eyes open. She looked up at him and offered a small smile after a yawn.
"Hey, you're up," she said, patting his back gently as she stood up and stretched. She had only gotten about 30 minutes of sleep.

Nick eventually got up and went back out to the cave mouth. He was ready to go but it wasn’t dark yet. He glanced at hailey when he heard her talking again. “I’m gonna go get some more fire wood so we can set up that pit in the back tunnel again for light tonight..” he told her. The back tunnel curled off towards the side of the main cave area they were in. It worked well to provide a bit of light to the back of the cave without being too bright to be noticed. He stretched and glanced back at Victor and Faye, debating asking if they’d wanna come with.

Hailey heard his words and nodded, getting up and stretching.
"Alright, I'll come with, make it go quicker. You guys stay towards the back of the cave, alright? We won't be long," she said.

Victor nodded and got up from his spot, moving over to where Faye was instead.

Nick nodded and didn’t say anything or bother waiting for her. He jumped off the edge of the cave and opened his wings, quickly diving down towards the trees where there would be more cover for them. He knew Hailey would be close behind.

Faye moved so Vic could sit with her. “What’s up?” She asked him softly, wanting to give him a chance to talk about whatever if he wanted to.

Hailey was right behind him, following him down to where they were gonna get the firewood from. She did glance up in the direction of their house, not knowing if the Erasers would be able to find them. The cave was well hidden and high up, so they'd either have to take a long time to get up there and make a lot of noise or use a helicopter, which also made a lot of noise. Either way, they should be safe up where they were.

"Nothing much. Just...I'm confused how the Erasers found us. And why they decided to come after us now. It's been 2 years," Victor replied, looking over at Faye.

Nick dove down through the trees and landed on the ground, shutting his wings behind him. He walked through the trees to an area that had been dead for a while. It usually provided plenty of firewood since it was used by the park rangers as a wood chopping area so the campsites would be stocked with wood ahead of time. He listened to make sure nobody was there.

Faye shrugged. “I dunno how they found us again honesty. They shouldn’t have been able to.. and they come after us because we’re valuable. A lot of their other hybrids didn’t survive nearly as well as we all have..” She explained.

Hailey dropped down next to him, also looking around and listening for anyone that might be there. All she heard though was the normal sounds of the woods at night.
"Let's get this done and get back up to them," she said to Nick.

"Well if we're so valuable, why did they only take Ace and Zar? They tried to take me, but you saved be in time. They were only trying to hurt Hunt, Hailey and Nick, not take them. It would have been easy for them to drop some knock out gas into the house while we were sleeping if they wanted all of us. So why didn't they?" Victor asked, very confused.

Nick nodded. “Agreed. We’ll need to make a few trips though to have them fully stocked for while we’re gone.” He said as he headed over to where the wood was all stocked up. He looked around as they walked.

Faye shrugged slightly. “I’m not sure. Probably cause they were the easiest targets and match what they want to do..” she replied. “I know you probably don’t remember this well which is likely a good thing but they would run lots of experiments and tests on us.. nick is too strong and violent for them right now, he wouldn’t cooperate with any tests unless given proper motivation.. Hunt and Hailey are kinda like that too. The rest of us are a bit younger. We aren’t as strong and we’re easier to contain. That’s probably why they tried to take you.. perhaps they didn’t want us all at once so they could set traps for the rest of us to come. I don’t really know honestly...”

"Yeah," Hailey agreed as she went over to where it all was. At this point, she didn't feel bad about taking some. She just started stacking some up into a pile that she would be able to carry, looking up at Nick after a moment."You alright?"

Victor listened to her words, her theories and nodded a bit.
"I remember, sorta. Hunt would always yell and cuss at them whenever they tried something...and it was always hard to get Nick to do something he didn't want to, which was pretty much everything," he said, rubbing his arms a bit. Sighing, he looked up at Faye."Do you know what was wrong with Zar? About 6 months before we escaped? They needed to ban one of the scientists from being around her and she was all of a sudden really scared for anyone to touch her. I tried to ask her about it once, but...she wouldn't tell me."

Nick nodded, stacking up a bunch of wood for him to carry. He glanced at Hailey. “Just a bit sore. Nothing i can’t handle.” He assured, looking around. “There’s gotta be a better way to do this..” he commented faintly to himself.

Faye bit her lip when victor asked about Zar. She knew what had happened, she just needed some way to tell victor about it without freaking him out. “That scientist was breaking the rules and did some unnecessary things to Zar without permission from her or anyone.” She stated with a shrug, trying to put it in as vague terms as possible.

Hailey looked at him when he spoke, glancing around a bit. She pointed over to where they kept one of the trucks.
"Well if we take the tarp from the truck, we can put a bunch of logs on it and carry it that way?" she suggested, putting her hands on her hips.

Victor listened to what she said, nodding slowly.
"Like experiments he wasn't suppose to?" he questioned, trying to understand it more. They did do a lot of experiments on them after all, different ones to each of them.

Nick thought for a moment and nodded. “Yeah. That should work.” He went over and grabbed the tarp, glancing inside the bed of the truck to see if there was anything else useful for them. He didn’t find anything except for some rope. He unfolded the tarp as he brought it back over.


“Yeah. That’s what they did to Zar. Those experiments just traumatized her a bit and that’s why she became so skittish..” Faye agreed, glad that victor had come up with his own explanation for it. That was better than her trying to find an answer.

Hailey nodded, helping him get it laid out on the ground when he came back over with it. Once it was, she just started loading the logs on. They weren't able to carry a whole lot like one might think, they're wings couldn't support super heavy stuff. But still, this would be easier than making half a dozen trips to get enough wood. Depending on what they could carry, they would only have to do two, maybe one.

Victor nodded, accepting that explanation and he sighed a bit.
"I miss them, both of them. It's really weird not seeing them around," he said.

Nick helped her load up the wood, staying quiet. “I think that’s enough that I can carry. There was another tarp there though. If you wanna load up a second one for you. Or we can just use the one and carry it together?” He offered, leaving it up to her.

“I miss them too.” Faye agreed. “We’ll get them back soon though.” She promised. “Nick, Hailey and hunt will be able to get them pretty quickly and easily..” she assured.

"It'll be easier to carry it together. We can fit more on it that way," Hailey replied, stack enough onto it that they would probably be able to carry together. She dusted her hands off afterwards, folding the tarp a bit so all the wood was contained in it and, hopefully, wouldn't fall out.

Victor nodded at her words, sighing a bit. He wanted to believe that...but he was somehow still having doubts.

Nick nodded. He helped her stack up some more logs and fold up the tarp. He grabbed the rope and used it to tie the tarp up a bit to keep it more secure and hopefully a bit easier to Carry.

Faye looked over at him. She had to trust that they’d get the other two back quickly. Otherwise she’d start worrying a lot about it and probably worry the others in the process.

Hailey waited for him to get it all set up before grabbing a section of the rope and the tarp, opening up her wings.
"Ready?" she asked Nick. Starting to fly was always easier with a run first or when you were starting to fall first, but they could all get airborne without needing it, except Cass and Victor, since they were still kinda learning. She did see Cass manage to do it once, sloppily sure, but she did it.

Nick opened up his dark wings and shook them out. He took his end of the tarp and the rope, making sure he had a good grip on it. “Yep.” He nodded slightly and jumped up in the air, flapping his wings to keep him airborne and start rising above the trees. He made sure he stayed with Hailey though since they had to do this together.

Hailey also started going up, frowning when the tarp was a little heavier than she thought. She adjusted her grip on it though and that made it a little bit easier, her easily staying at the same level with Nick.
"You good over there?" she asked after a minute, making sure it wasn't too heavy for him.

“Shouldn’t I be asking you that?” Nick asked in reply. It was definitely heavy but wasn’t too much for him. He flapped his wings in sync with hers so they wouldn’t hit each other or anything. He flew beside her back up towards the cave.

Hailey glared a bit at him when he said that.
"You know as well as I do 9 times outta 10 I'm the one kicking your ass in fights," she said to him, rolling her eyes a bit. They made it up to the cave without really an issue and she landed first, walking backwards with the tarp so Nick could land easily and not on top of it.

Nick rolled his eyes. “Only cause I go easy on you,” He answered. “Watch out for hunt.” He cautioned when she walked backwards after she landed. He landed on the Edge of the cave mouth and closed his wings. He helped her carry it over to the back area of the cave.

Hailey scoffed at his words, watching where she was going as she brought the wood back, setting it down and unwrapping it.
"Think that'll be enough or should we do one more trip?" she asked Nick as she took the hair tie that was around her wrist and put her hair in a quick ponytail.

Nyx looked over the wood and thought about it. “That should be enough. I want to get some more though, just to be safe.” He replied. ‘In case were gone longer than planned..’ he thought to himself, worrying a bit about what they’d do if that happened. He trusted that Faye could take care of the younger two and keep them safe but he didn’t want her to have to do that. “I can make a second trip on my own if you want,” He offered with a shrug

Hailey listened to him, willing to go with him, but she happened to glance outside to see about what time it was. It was getting close to dinner and she felt her stomach rumbling.
"You go ahead and make that second trip, I'll take Cass to go and get dinner. That sound okay to you little lady?" she asked her with a smile. If not then she could take Victor too.

Nick nodded slightly. “Alright. That sounds good.” He agreed softly. “I’ll see you in a bit then. Be safe.” He told her. He unloaded the wood from the tarp, stacking it up neatly out of the way. Faye came over and helped him, just figuring that would be something to do for a bit.

Cass looked up and nodded. “Okay..” she got up and put her etch a sketch away before coming over to Hailey. She knew why Hailey wanted to take her. She was young and looked like an innocent little kid which meant she could talk to people and ask for their help and steal from them if she had the chance.

Hailey smiled at her, really just wanting to take her cause she couldn't take Faye and leave the younger kids alone with a sleeping Hunt when Nick went out for that second trip. She stepped out of the cave and opened up her wings, waiting for Cass to come along as well.
"Town's this way. What are you thinking, both of us get the food or should one of us play the typical homeless act, try and score some bucks while the other spends time with the dumpster?" she asked, Technically they were homeless now, so it wouldn't be a lie.

Nick put the rest of the wood away and went out for more after cass and Hailey left. He knew Faye and victor would be fine for a bit so he tried not to worry.

Cass nodded slightly. She opened her wings and followed Hailey out to the cave mouth. “Split up. That’ll probably work out the best for us. I. I had an idea though..” she said, glancing up at her. “I still look pretty clean and like a normal kid. What if, Like i talk to some people and say I’m lost or whatever other story and steal some money from them? I know we’re not supposed to steal but that would help us. We could get enough money from that to help us out for a while..” she offered.

Hailey nodded and listened to what she had in mind, thinking it through. It wasn't a horrible idea, but she was worried about getting police officers involved. Cause that's what people did when they found a lost child, went straight to a police officer. So long as Cass managed to avoid that, which she had a sharp mouth and a quick mind, she could manage.
"That's a good idea. I do wanna watch you though so you could go to that park we see all the time, I'll sit at one of the benches across the street," she said, not wanting to leave her along to do that.

Cass nodded slightly. “That would be good. Other kids are there. So lots of parents. They won’t go to the police as quickly. They’ll help me look around and I’ll have a chance..” she agreed, brainstorming aloud to Hailey. That way Hailey knew what she was planning and could offer suggestions and changes before she acted on it.

Hailey nodded her head, thinking that she did have a good point. This would work, probably. If not, they would be able to get outta there really quick.
"That sounds like a plan," she said, giving her a thumbs up.

Cass smiled a bit. She was a bit proud of herself that she had come up with a good plan that would help them out. She flew down off the cliff with Hailey, looking around as they headed for the town.

It didn't take long before they managed to get there and Hailey dropped down with Cass inside the woods still, folding her wings in and putting on a hoodie that she grabbed before she left to hide them. She almost forgot to do that every time they came into town cause she was so use to having them out. But here, they needed to be hidden.

Cass closed her wings, them hiding easily under her shirt. She dusted off her pants and made sure she looked presentable. “Let’s go. I wanna get back there soon..” she said softly, biting her lip. She hadn’t really been around many people outside of her flock and the ones she had seen were all scientists so she was pretty wary of humans.

"Yeah," Hailey replied, feeling the same way about being around people that Cass did. They made her uncomfortable cause she wasn't use to them. Walking through the streets, she found a bench to sit at and she looked down at Cass."Go on over to the park, I'll be here. If you need me, tap your left shoulder 3 times, okay?"

Cass nodded slightly. She gave her a quick hug before heading over to the park. She saw the playground but wandered around a bit first. She kept looking around her like she was looking for someone. She was trying to figure out which people would be the best to go up to before she started her act. She rubbed her eyes and started towards the playground after a few, doing her best to look pretty upset.

Hailey hugged her back with a smile before sitting down on the bench, watching as she went over. She did make sure to keep an eye out around her though, making sure there was no one suspicious around that might be a threat to either of them.

(( So I was thinking, you know how with time, the Flock starts to develop other sorta powers? Did you want that to happen with them as well? I kinda had something in mind for Zar when they get her outta the school and it would be cool if everyone else starts developing new things too (: ))

Cass went over to the playground area, wrapping her arms around herself and looking like a small and upset little kid. It didn’t take her long before she was talking with some parents and sneaking some stuff from their bags when they weren’t paying attention. She got some cash from their bags along with a stack of gift cards from one of them, stuffing them away in their pockets. She tapped her left shoulder three times after she had enough stuff. She’d given the parents a description of what her “mom” looked like, describing Hailey instead so Hailey could come over to her and they could go together.

Hailey waited there and waited until she noticed the signal from Cass, looking curiously at some people that passed by. She got a few whistles from guys, with whom she quickly gave a death glare too. Because gross. Ew. Once she saw it, she stood up and crossed the street, putting on her fake concerned look and jogged once she got towards the park.
"Sarah! Oh my Goodness I was so worried!" she said as she came over, gathering Cass into her arms and giving her a big hug, doing her best to make it look realistic.

Cass hugged Hailey tightly when she came up, hiding her face against her stomach. “I couldn’t find you. I did what you said. I found other parents. We were gonna come look for you.” She rambled out, looking up at her.
One of the other parents came over and made sure Cass was gonna be alright. “I’m glad you found her so quick, your daughter was pretty panicked.” They explained, smiling a bit. “Try not to wander off too far next time Sarah..” they told her kindly.

"Good girl, that's a very good girl," Hailey said, kissing the top of her head. She offered a fake smile to all the mothers that were there."Thank you so much for the help." She put her arm around her and started walking the other direction with her, looking down at her with a smile. Well that wasn't too hard.
