Nick rolled his eyes as he heard Hunt. “Why are you so scared?” He asked curiously, staying where he was and just listening to him.

Ace stumbled back before falling on his butt. “What the hell?” He muttered, scrambling back to his feet and looking over at her. He tilted his head, confused.

"Cause you're gonna hurt me!!" Hunt called from the bathroom, staying right where he was.

Hailey raised an eyebrow when it worked again, grinning a little bit and putting her hands on her hips.
"Huh. I guess I have an advantage over you guys from now on. I don't even need to touch you," she said, surprised that she actually managed to get it to work.

“Now just why would I do that?” Nick asked, leaning against the doorframe to his room. He didn’t really want to chase hunt or go into his personal space. It was just fun to tease him a bit.

Ace nodded slightly. “Yeah.. I guess so.” He agreed quietly, nodding to her. He ran a hand through his hair. “When did you start being able to do that?” He asked curiously.

"Because I know you!! Go away!" Hunt yelled back, his voice getting higher pitched with his slight panicking. Of course, he knew this was all playful but still, he seriously did not want Nick to get him.

"What you mean actually being able to control it and not accidentally throw logs at you?" Hailey said, recalling what had happened a few days ago,"This is the first time it's actually listened to me when I tried to use it."

"And kindly try to keep it that was. You almost took off Hunt's head with that branch," Zar said from her spot on the couch, glancing at her.

"Yeah....oops," Hailey said somewhat sheepishly.

Nick rolled his eyes and silently walked off. He figured hunt would panic a bit longer and then chill out so it was all good. He sat back in his chair, glancing between them.

“Huh. Okay. Maybe you should keep working on it though. With not flock members as the test subjects?” Ace advised with a shrug. Yes, it was impressive that she got it under control but he wasn’t sure if that was just a fluke or what. Either way, he didn’t want to risk it.

Faye nodded slightly in agreement. “I wonder if the rest of us will get anything cool in terms of powers someday.” She Mumbled aloud

"Yeah...but you were fine, I didn't toss you across the room...Yet," Hailey replied. She moved back over to the spot she had been siting at before at Nick's feet, looking at Faye."Probably. First it was Nick, then me. I'm sure you guys won't be far down the line."

"I hope we get some really cool stuff like you guys," Victor chimed in front his spot on the couch. He was been silent for the entire endeavor that had just happened, focused on coloring in one of the books that they had.

Ace rolled his eyes. “That kinda sounded like a threat.” He commented, teasing her a bit. He smiled and fell quiet, careful not to push his luck too much.

Nick nodded slightly to Vic. “You’ll get some cool powers..” he assured. “It just might take a bit longer.” He added. He wasn’t sure if their powers were coming as they matured or if something specific had set them off so there wasn’t really any way to predict when they’d all get theirs.

"I wouldn't intentionally toss you across the room Ace, relax," Hailey replied, yawning a bit and stretching her arms up and over her head. She was tired now, probably from all the excitement. And she really hadn't gotten much the sleep the past few days, it just hadn't really hit her until now.

Victor nodded at Nicks words, smiling and returning to his coloring.

"Is anyone hungry? I saw some Mac and cheese in one of the cabinets," Zar asked, thinking of a lunch and dinner idea for them.

Ace nodded slightly “the non intentional part is more my concern..” he shrugged. He smiled after a moment. “But it’s fine. We’re all good now. Right?” He asked.

Nick nodded slightly to Vic before glancing at Zar. “I’m hungry. If you want, I can cook. I don’t know if we’ll need to go get anything special for Mac and cheese though, I never inventoried the kitchen.” He commented.

"We're fine Ace, I was just messing with you," Hailey replied to him after she yawned, another one coming soon afterwards. Rubbing her eyes, she looked up at Nick."I think I saw some butter in the fridge. No milk, but we can just use water."

"I can cook it, I'm not going anything else," Zar replied with a shrug of her shoulders. She hadn't been really doing much at all the past few days with her feet being messed up and all.

Ace nodded, relaxing a bit. “Good. I didn’t want to get killed by ya.” He smiled a bit at her. He sat back in the other chair.

Nick nodded slightly. “Alright.” He Agreed. “I’ll let you then Zar..” he said softly, shrugging and relaxing in the chair. He glanced at Zar and thanked her.

Faye nodded, moving to get up to help Zar.

Hailey winked at him and rested her head back against the chair, slightly leaving on Nick's leg as well. She knew that with the girls getting up to cook that she could hop onto the couch, but she was actually pretty comfy right here she was.

Zar nodded and moved up, being careful with her feet though. It didn't hurt that much anymore though, she just had to take it slow. So she did, taking her time getting into the kitchen and looking through the cabinets.

Nick smiled and let Hailey stay close. He yawned softly and watched the cartoon absently.

Faye got up and followed her into the kitchen. She took out multiple boxes of the Mac and cheese that she found in the cabinet, knowing it took a lot to feed them all.

It didn't really take long for Hailey to drift off as she watched the cartoon, her head falling onto Nick's leg so it was sorta resting on his knee. Certainly, she had been more tired than she had let on, though it also may have had something to do with using her powers as well.

"Thanks for helping Faye," Zar thanked her with a smile, getting out large pot that they could use.

Nick smiled and stayed still for a bit, not wanting to disturb her getting some sleep. He talked a bit with Vic and cass, making sure they were doing good.


Faye smiled and nodded. “Any time. You know I don’t mind..” she assured. She glanced over the instructions on the box before going and finding the butter. She got it out of the freezer and set it on the counter.

Zar smiled at her words and filled the pan with some hot water, setting it on the stove so it could start to boil. She had cooked mac and cheese before, though it wasn't a meal they often had. Just because, you know, there were steps involved and they were all a little impatient.

Faye smiled a bit. She opened up the boxes and took out the little packet for the cheese from each of them before setting the boxes aside. “We can probably ask the others and then get some of the food from all our packs and get them set around in here? Make it more normal seeming?” She offered softly.

"You mean unpack everything?" Zar asked her with a small raise of her eyebrows, searching the drawers for a spoon to use. She called them a noddle spoon, since they always used it the few times they made spaghetti or mac and cheese.

“No. Not everything probably. Not until we’re sure it’s safe. But just like some of the more perishable foods.” Faye suggested. “It’s just an idea. And I wouldn’t suggest unpacking everything anyways. Just in case we need to flee suddenly..”

"Oh that's what I meant. Oops," Zar replied, nodding her head though,"Yeah I think that sounds okay. Keep it separate from the food that's here through so we know."

Faye nodded. “Yeah. Of course.” She agreed, Smiling faintly. She moved to go get the stuff from the others so they could get it put away. She just wanted to get settled and then relax a bit.

Zar allowed her to do that as she kept on working on the dinner, looking through everything to see what kind of a dinner she could actually make. After a bit, she just decided on the mac and cheese and some spam she found in a cabinet, figuring it out go decent with the mac if she fried it up first.

Faye brought in some stuff and quietly set it out on the counter, taking a mental inventory of what all they had. She disappeared for a minute to get a pen and paper. She wrote a list of how many boxes of Mac and cheese they’d taken and the spam too, figuring she’d add to it as they went so if they moved on, perhaps they could replace it. Or at least leave an apology letter.

Zar looked at the food that they were left with and was glad that it was actually a decent amount.
"Thankfully we won't be starving anytime soon," she said as she checked on the water, which still had a while left to boil. So she just hoped up and onto one of the counters.

Faye nodded slightly. “Yeah.” She Agreed faintly. “and from what I’ve seen from looking around, these people have plenty too that we can steal some from. Or borrow. Whichever.” She shrugged and hopped up to sit on the counter beside her. “Hopefully we can stay in one place for a bit.”

"Technically stealing," Zar replied with a shrug of her shoulders. She knew it was wrong, they all did. But at the same time, the people that owed this place were obviously in better shape than they were in and could probably spare some things.

Faye rolled her eyes. “Tomato, tom-ato.” She smiled and shrugged. They couldn’t really help from stealing a bit. It was necessary if they were gonna survive. And these people would be alright with some stuff being missing or consumed.

Zar looked at her and smiled back. Thankfully the water started to boil a bit after that so she was able to put all the boxes of the noddles in there and started opening up the 2 cans of spam that she took.
"Wanna cook these?" she asked Faye.

“Sure.” Faye nodded. She came over to her and took the two cans of spam from her. She found a knife and chopped up the spam before pouring them into a warm pan to start cooking it.

"Thanks Faye," Zar said to her. still sitting on the spot on the counter. She gave a quick glance into the living room to see what everyone was doing and they all seemed pretty interesting in the show they were watching, minus Hailey who was still asleep. Hunt had even come out of hiding to sit next to the kids.

Faye nodded slightly. She cooked the spam, following her gaze to the living room. “It’s always kinda interesting. We all settle in to a place so quickly..” she commented faintly, seeing everyone out there together and just all seeming content.

"Yeah. I guess that's kind of a good thing though. We might be moving around a little bit for a while," Zar replied with a small shrug, looking at the others for a moment before turning her attention back to the noodles. She didn't have to watch them too much, they were just cooking noodles after all.

Faye nodded slightly. “Yeah. Probably. But I really wanna just get settled somewhere again. I don’t like the being on the run,.” She admitted faintly to her, glancing around before back at him.

"I know," Zar replied with a nod, looking over at her. She reached over and gave her a small pat on the shoulder and offered a smile."Nick will find us something I'm sure, once he's feeling better. And, of course, we got Hailey until then."

Faye nodded, leaning into her touch. “I know. We’ll get it figured out Like was always Do. It’s just a little weird in the mean time. Cause like they switched who was in charge and then switched back again. I don’t know.” She shrugged slightly and cooked the spam.

"Yeah I know, they didn't have much of a choice since Nick got hurt though," Zar replied, kicking her feet back and forth and giving the noodles another quick stir."And I guess depending on what they wanna do, they might keep it this way again. Who knows? I'm confused as to why Hailey wanted to switch in the first place, but maybe the stress was just getting to her?"

Faye nodded. “True.” She Agreed. She listened to Zar and shrugged. “Yeah. I don’t know. They never really said or anything. I guess we’ll know if we need to. Otherwise it’ll be fine..” She Agreed, glancing out to check on them all.

Zar nodded her head in agreement, looking up at the ceiling and sighing softly. It had been a long couple of days with Nick hurt like he had been. She had to admit she felt a little guilty for that and like it was her fault. After all, it happened because they had to come and save her and Ace from the school.

Faye looked back over to her when she sighed. “Hmm? What’s up?” She asked softly, tilting her head. She wasn’t really worried about nick anymore, he seemed to be doing better so everything would probably be fine.

"Oh nothing. Just...I'm relaxed. You know, being under a roof again for the night," Zar replied which wasn't a lie. She was very relaxed. As much as she enjoyed being outside, she did not enjoy it as much being in a strange place that she wasn't use to where they could get jumped by Erasers any second. So a little bit of protection was much better before she got comfy with an area.

“Good.” Faye smiled and nodded. The spam seemed to be done so she moved it off the heat. “How are your feet feeling?” She asked, thinking that they would probably need to keep an eye on them to make sure they didn’t get infected.

"Oh they're doing better. I can walk now without it being unbearable," Zar replied with a look down at them. It was clear they were going to scar for sure, but they certainly looked better than before.

“that’s good. They’re healing quick.” Faye commented. “That’s really good too. Cause then it won’t be as likely to get infected..” she added with a shrug. She grabbed the spoon and stirred the pasta before fishing a couple noodles out for them to try.

"Yeah I've been cleaning them everyday so I think they're gonna be just fine," Zar replied with a nod. She watched Faye check the noodles, reaching over with her hand and taking one off of the spoon for her to see if it was finished."Seems good to me."

Faye nodded. “Good.” She smiled and tried the other noodle. “Seems good to me too. Do you wanna strain them and add the stuff or should I?” She offered, turning off the stove too. She glanced over at her.

"I can," Zar replied, slowly sliding herself off of the counter. She grabbed the strainer she had found before she started and put it into the sink, pouring all the noodles and water into it. Letting it be for a moment, she picked the strainer back up and moved the noddles around before putting it back in and then adding the cheese. It was a veleta type mac and cheese so no milk or butter was required.

Faye nodded. She moved out of the way and watched Zar strain the noodles and then add in cheese. “want the spam added in there too?” She offered, grabbing the pan to add it for whenever she was ready for it.

"Yeah sure, gimme a sec," Zar said, beginning to mix in the cheese a little bit just to get it started. Once it was decent enough, she nodded to Faye to put the spam in there as well so it'd be kinda like mac and cheese and hot dogs, which they use to make quite often.

Faye smiled a bit and added in the spam when Zar told her to. She then set the pan in the sink and found some bowls in the cabinet. She got down enough for all of them and found some forks as well, setting them on the counter by the stove. “Want me to get the others?”

"Sure," Zar replied as he finished stirring everything in. Taking a large spoon she started diving up the food into the bowls, filling them all up and there was still a decent amount of extra for later.
