Ace nodded and followed her back outside. He left the door ajar behind them, walking off the porch and looking around. He didn’t see any tire tracks or footprints or anything around the garage or house but he knew it could be cause they were washed away or something. “See anything?” He asked her, not wanting to miss anything.

Hailey scanned around, going towards the little garage that was thee. Certainly not big enough to hold a car or anything, but probably supplies? Hunting supplies? She gave a quick peak inside, not seeing anything too interesting and it didn't appear that any human, or animal worth noting, had been around recently.
"Nope," she replied.

Ace nodded. “Hmmm. Maybe it’s some sort of like safe house or something..” he commented. “It almost seems like too good to be true..” he added faintly, glancing at her. “I don’t think it’s a trap Per-say but something about it seems a little weird.” He told her, waiting to hear what she thought.

"I agree with you, this does seem really good. I'm a bit iffy on it...Let's go look at another couple and see what those are like? Then we can swing back around here and give it a second look, see if anything changed?" Hailey replied with a raise of her eyebrow, asking if that sounded good.

Ace listened and nodded. “Yeah. That sounds good.” He Agreed, glancing at her. “I’ll go close up the house and we can leave through the door?” He offered, moving to head back inside.

Ace flew back down to where the others were, dropping down low before landing. He closed up his wings and glanced at Hailey before walking to join the others. They’d checked out a few other houses and had almost made a decision but they wanted to make it as a group and talk about it together, or at least talk with nick.

Hailey dropped down as well, rolling her shoulders a bit as she tucked her wings in. It had been a few days since she had flown so much so it was just a little bit of a strain. She noticed Nick over pretty much where she had left him and headed over in his direction so she could talk to him about the cabins that they had looked at.

Ace came over to Nick and sat by him as well. He guessed that the three of them would make a decision and then after that, they'd tell the others.

Nick shifted and sat up when he heard them landing and coming over. He was still feverish but not quite as exhausted so he was at least starting to feel a bit better. "Hey.." He greeted softly, glancing between them and offering Hailey a slight smile.

Hailey smiled back at Nick as she came over, sitting down across from him. He seemed to be doing better.
"How are you feeling?" she asked just in case, reaching into her backpack and grabbing a water she had been sipping on, taking a drink of it.

Nick shrugged. "a bit better than I did. I don't feel woozy and exhausted at least." He assured her. "How'd the house hunt go?" He asked curiously. He was eager to get them out of the woods and back into a house, wanting them all to feel a bit safer and have a bit of comfort. Sure, they'd camped out lots of times before but he liked them having some sort of stable shelter, everyone seemed to do much better that way.

"Good, that's good to hear," Hailey replied, assuming that he had been taking the medicine. Nick might be stubborn as hell, but he knew when he needed to do certain things. Most of the time anyways."It went good, really we're down to two places. We needed your opinion on them. One was really good, I mean really good. Lots of food, running water, electricity, big enough to hold all of us well enough. We were kinda getting worried it was too good to be true. there were no signs anyways had been there recently though, outside or inside. The other it closer to the state border, smaller and a bit warn down, but it had a decent amount of food and running water. Electricity but it was one of the ones that ran on generators and you'd have to go out everyone once in a while and pump the thing up. Also no signs anyone had been there."

Nick nodded slightly. He had been taking medicine and had slept most of the day, Faye and Hunt keeping the others busy and an eye on everything for him. He listened quietly to the explanations of both places. "Okay. Well, which one do you personally think is better?" He asked, wanting to hear her opinion first before voicing his own. He didn't like the first one that seemed to be too good to be true for them but thought that they could take some stuff from it and take it to the other one if needed.

"Well I like the first one better in terms on convenience. He did go back and look at it to make sure no one was actually sticking around, you know. And it was still untouched. If there does happen to be trouble we can also get the hell outta dodge real quick, one of us can always be on watch. That would have been what I would want to do with anywhere else we go anyways," Hailey replied to him with a shrug of her shoulders, knowing, at the end of the day, it was up to Nick now. Either would be fine really, the first one was just, you know, better.

Nick nodded slightly. She did have a good point that they always had someone on watch anyways. "Then let's go with that one. The one closer to the border can be our backup plan in case something goes wrong in the first one." He told her, trusting her judgement more than his own right now. He was too tired and a bit out of it with his medicine so he didn't really want to be in charge of decision making.

Hailey nodded her head at his choice, stretching her arms up and over her head.
"Are you up for flying once we get everything together? Or do you wanna take a nap or something?" she asked, not that it was afar fly or anything. She just didn't want him to push himself and end up hurt. Again.

Nick sighed at her. “All I’ve done all day is sleep. I think I’ll be fine to fly a bit. Don’t worry about it.” He reassured gently. “We’ll check my leg and your shoulder once we get there?” He asked faintly after a moment, wanting to check on her.

"Okay, sounds like a plan. I'll start getting everyone ready to go then," Hailey replied to him, giving his arm a little pat before standing up. She stretched quickly before going over to check on and talk to everyone else to let them all know the plan.

Nick bit his lip lightly. He stayed sitting on the ground while Hailey talked to everyone and explained the plan. He packed up his own stuff quietly, not wanting to get up. His leg still hurt pretty bad and he didn’t want to lose his balance of anything.

The others agreed to the plan without protest, trusting them to have made the right call.

It took about an hour to get everyone ready, which wasn't bad. They just had a decent amount to pack and a lot of planning on who would carry what. But soon everyone was on their feet and ready to take off.
"Ace and I will lead the way cause we know where to go. Faye and Hunt, I need you guys to stay on either side of Nick for me okay? Just in case. And Zar you're okay with hanging in the back behind the kids to make sure everything is clear?" she asked, glancing at the girl.

Zar nodded her head, leaning on Faye a bit. She wasn't often in charge of hanging back, that was normally Hunt or Ace or Nick. But is wasn't like she really minded, it's where she needed to be cause if Nick fell, Faye and Hunt would be able to pick them up easier then, say, if it was her and Hunt.

"Alright, let's go then," Hailey replied, opening up her wings and getting airborne.

Faye nodded. She helped support Zar and let her take off into the air first before she even moved. She also made sure the kids got off the ground before taking off.

Ace easily got airborne, following Hailey. He carried his own stuff along with nick’s, not wanting him to have to deal with anything other than keeping himself airborne.

Nick took off with Hunt and Faye, biting his lip. He got up in the air pretty easily and was able to fly fine. He just get a little bit unsteady.

Zar was grateful that Faye was helping her cause her feet still weren't 100%. They had gotten much better but it still wasn't comfy. She sorta hovered until everyone had gone ahead and then followed behind the little ones, keeping an attentive eye and ear out of their surroundings.

"How does flying feel? "Hunt asked Nick when they were are a cruising altitude, seeing that he appeared a little unsteady and if he needed to fly closer to him he would.

Faye glanced back to Zar occasionally once they were in the air and following the others, wanting to keep tabs on her. The past few days had been really stressful and she was still worried about Zar and what had happened while she was stuck in the school again.


“It’s fine. I’m just like tired. And a bit out of it. That’s why I think I’m wobbling.” Nick mumbled. “How far are we going?” He asked curiously, flying a bit closer to hunt.

Hunt nodded at his words, understanding. He wasn't sure how far away it was so he called to the other two in front.
"How far away is it?" he questioned. He didn't look at Ace as he said it though, like he normally would have, instead keeping his eyes on Hailey.

Hailey didn't respond though, wanting Ace to. Those two really needed to get back on speaking terms so whatever was biting Hunt in the butt, he would need to get off his chest sooner or later. And she planned on that being sooner rather than later once they got to this cabin.

Nick glanced forward when hunt spoke to Hailey. He watched her, focusing on Sorta matching his flying with her in hopes that he’d feel less wobbly that way with his focus elsewhere.

Ace glanced at Hailey when she didn’t answer. He spared a quick glance back at Hunt. “45 minutes away maybe.” He called back to him. He wanted to talk to hunt but now wasn’t really a good time as he probably should lead with Hailey and they couldn’t really switch spots with nick, who should’ve been leading.

Hunt felt his stomach do flip flops when Ace replied to him as well, not translating it to Nick, since he was sure he heard his just fine. He just continued to fly along with them, keeping a close eye on Nick.

Hailey smiled slightly to herself as she flew, knowing that now was not a good time for a deep conversation between the two, but even a little bit of communication was good. She did glance back every once in a while at Nick to make sure he was still doing okay, occasionally catching his eyes looking a her, which would make her blush and look away.

Ace kept flying. He stayed up front with Hailey, occasionally moving off to the side and glancing back to check on the others. He was just trying to make sure everyone was okay. He didn’t think about hunt or the conversation they needed to have or anything.

Nick flew quietly, still a little wobbly but not bad. He offered Hailey a tired smile when she looked back and caught his eye. He stayed between hunt and Faye until they got near the cabin Hailey had chosen.

It actually didn't feel like 45 minutes had passed by the time they got to the cabin. And, like when she and Ace had left it, it was still deserted for the time being. Hailey motioned for everyone to drop down and land, her doing so easily.

Hunt made sure to drop down before Nick with Faye so they could steady him if they needed to. Landing could be a bitch sometimes after all.

Ace stayed up in the air a moment longer, following everyone else down once they’d landed. He immediately went up to the house, checking to make sure it was still empty and Undisturbed.

Nick flew down with them, landing a bit unsteadily on his Okay leg. He put his hand on hunt’s shoulder and steadied himself before putting his other foot lightly on the ground, hiding a wince.

Hailey let Ace go check the house out, staying with the others to ensure everyone landed safely, especially Nick and Zar. Thankfully, Hunt and Faye were both their to help them.

"There you go," Hunt said as Nick lowered himself down slowly, keeping his hands on him as he helped. He wasn't carrying him, but he was supporting him as much as the other would let him.

Ace came back a minute later. “Still all clear and quiet.” He assured, waiting on Hailey to agree so they could lead everyone over to the house and start getting settled.

Nick stood steadily on his own feet after a minute. He thanked them and waited quietly on ace to return.

Hailey nodded, waiting until everyone was down on the ground and walking, or next to someone who was helping them walk, before motioning her head towards the cabin.
"Come on guys," she said, leading them.

Hunt let Nick walk though he still kept an arm around him, not touching him, but hovering just near him in case he started to fall or something.

(Finally on break. Then an hour and a half and I’ll be off work)

Ace went with Hailey. He helped lead the way to the front door and pushed it open, having left it unlocked earlier in the day for them when they thought they’d be coming back.

Faye moved by Zar, making sure she was okay walking for a bit on her feet.

Nick mumbled a Thanks to Hunt, keeping his wings open slightly and using them to help him balance as he followed behind them all, trying to hide a limp.

Hailey went in once Ace opened up the door, watching everyone else go in as well, patting the children's shoulder as they passed by her. She knew moving around and being in this situation must be tough for them.

Zar looked at Faye when she came over, offering a smile and holding onto her arm.
"My feet are feeling better, but they still hurt a bit," she told her, glad when she entered the house.

Ace smiled a bit. He told the kids to go look around and pick a room for them. The house had 4 bedrooms so they pretty Much could just have a pair Of them per room, giving them each a bit of their own personal space.

Faye nodded slightly. “That’s good. Well sorta. You’ll be able to get off them for a bit.” She walked inside with him.

Nick told Hunt to go ahead and head in. He then went and hobbled his way around the perimeter of the house, just checking it out.

Zar nodded her head, coming in as well. She glanced around it a bit, it seeming like it was nice enough. Noticing a couch, she started right over to it so she could sit down, still much preferring to be off her feet for the moment.

Hailey noticed that Nick didn't come in right away but she didn't go out with him. She didn't need to be with him 24/7, even though she wanted to to make sure he was still doing okay. So she refrained, looking as Hunt came in and started scoping out the house as well.

Faye followed her over to the couch. “Here. I’ll take your bag and go pick a room for us. Hunt and ace probably need to sort out whatever’s wrong and then most of us should probably eat and get some rest...” she said softly, holding her hand out in an offer to take her stuff.

Nick explored the perimeter quietly, glancing over the house and getting an idea of the exits and whatnot. He then made his way inside, glancing around for Hailey. “We need to check your shoulder..” he mumbled softly when he saw her, coming over.

Hailey was just walking around the house as well for a little bit until Nick came into the cabin. She nodded her head at his words.
"Okay, we can do that and look at your leg too," she replied.

Faye checked on the kids who’d chosen a room with two beds and they were getting settled. She went and glanced through the other rooms before picking one, setting hers and Zar’s stuff down. She came back to Faye after a few.

Ace glanced at Hunt before going and sitting on the couch with Zar, unsure about talking to hunt.

Nick nodded. “Lead the way to where then. I’m out of energy to explore in here...” he mumbled, favoring his injured leg and watching her tiredly.

Hailey nodded and went to the section the rooms were at, having already chosen a room for her and Nick. it just made sense after all, there were 4 bedrooms so the children could get one, Faye and Zar one, Hunt and Ace one, and her and Nick the other. The unfortunate thing about their room was there was only 1 big bed. But that was fine, there was also a recliner over in the corner that she would claim.
"Sit down," she told Nick as she got the first aid kit out of her backpack and started opening it up.

Zar waved at Ace when he sat down next to her on one side, then smiled at Faye as she came back and sat on her other. Of course, she favored Faye and leaned closer to her.

Nick quietly followed her to the bedroom she’d chosen, not really paying much attention. “Let me check your shoulder first.” He decided faintly, glancing at her. “My leg is fine enough for a bit.” He added, reassuring her. He watched her for a moment before reaching to take the first aid kit from her.

Faye loosely slipped an arm around Zar. “We can go lay down if you’d rather.” She offered softly.

Ace glanced at Hunt, wanting him to talk to him. Ace just didn’t want to make the first move.

"Okay," Hailey agreed, not too worried about checking his leg. from what Brandie had told them yesterday, as long as they cleaned up and he took the medicine she gave them then it should be getting better. She sat down on the bed and removed her hoodie so he could get to her shoulder.

Zar looked at her and shook her head.
"No it's fine. I feel like I've been sleeping too much recently," she replied.

Hunt could practically feel Ace looking at him, the tension in the room was pretty strong. Clearing his throat awkwardly, he decided to check out around the house as Nick had done a little bit ago, exiting out the door.

He gently shifted her shirt aside so he could get to the bandages and look at her shoulder. Nick sat on the bed behind her and undid the bandages, glancing over the wound before grabbing a bit of stuff to clean it up and rewrap it. “It looks good. It’s healing up pretty quick.” He noted softly.

Faye nodded. “Okay.” She Agreed, staying close to her. “How do your feet feel?”

Ace frowned and watched him go. He got up after a minute and went outside after him, wanting to attempt to sort whatever this was out before it kept eating at him. He liked being close with all of them, Hunt even more so than the others. So the tension and just lack of contact was starting to get to him.

Hailey let him do what he needed to, trying to forget about the fact that, for the moment, they were alone in a room. Memories to the other night when they almost kissed came back and she blushed softly, turning her head the other way so he, hopefully, wouldn't see.
"God. It should be 100% pretty soon," she replied.

"They still sting a little bit, but I can walk on them," Zar replied, watching as Ace stood up and went out the door behind Hunt.

Hunt didn't notice that Ace had followed him right away, he was just walking along the edge of the woods. He thought he had saw something and leaned forward a bit to get a better look, only to have a rabbit jump out from the bushes and scare the piss out of him.
"Ahh! Motherfucker, piece of crap!! Ah, Jesus!" he cursed as he tried to return his soul to his body as he watched the bunny hop away,"I oughta cook you!"

Nick nodded slightly. “Good..” He Agreed, glancing st her and thinking he saw the blush but he wasn’t sure. He didn’t pay it much attention though, more focused on getting it clean and neatly rewrapped for her.

“That’s good. They’re getting better at least..” Faye commented softly. She stayed close to her.

Ace followed him out of the house, keeping quiet. He watched him walk around, jumping when he started cursing before laughing a bit at him. “You’d cook the poor little bunny? That’s mean..”

Hailey was relaxed as he worked on her arm, well, relaxed as she could with the memories of the previous night invading her mind. She really was trying not to think about it, glancing back at Nick when he had rewrapped it.
"Alright let me look at your leg," she said, standing up from the bed.

Hunt was surprised to hear Ace speak, turning his head to look at him. He blushed slightly, still trying to calm down his quick heartbeat.
"It deserves to be eliminated from the food chain if it's gonna go around scaring things 10 times it's size," he replied.

Nick nodded. “Okay.” He Mumbled. He kicked off his shoe and shifted back on the bed, propping his foot up for her so she could look at the gash on his leg. He glanced around the room quietly while she took the bandage off, thinking.

Ace pouted. “He was probably just looking for food. Or going to his home bush.” He reasoned softly. “And this was their home turf first..” he added, not sure why he chose to take the bunny’s side but whatever. He looked back up st hunt. “I’m sorry..”

Hailey waited for him to do so before she unwrapped the bandage she had on and began her normal cleaning process with the leg. Thanks to the medicine that Brandie gave him, it was really starting to heal up better now and didn't look quite as gross and uncomfortable.

Hunt frowned a bit and straightened up, looking to him when he said those last words. Running his fingers through his hair, he scratched the back of his head and shrugged his shoulders.
"For what?" he asked.

Nick glanced at his leg once she unwrapped it. “It looks better at least.” He said faintly. “Hopefully that’ll mean it’ll stop hurting soon too.” He commented softly. He sat still as she cleaned it for him and bandaged it up again. “Thanks.”

Ace shrugged slightly at him. “Whatever I did wrong. I don’t know what went wrong but it’s no longer right between us anymore.” He said quietly. “I don’t like it though.. whatever tension is between us..”

"Yeah it's a hell of a lot better, thank God," Hailey replied to Nick, cleaning it and then beginning to rewrap it. She glanced up at him and nodded, offering a small smile."No problem. Did you take your pills recently?"

Hunt bit his lip as Ace explained to him, shaking his head and shifting his weight nervously.
"It wasn't....it wasn't you. It was me just....thinking about...stuff. I'm sorry, I shouldn't have...taken it out on you," he replied to him, knowing it was dumb. It wasn't Ace's fault that he was attracted to him.
