Ace grinned. He nodded slightly. “Okay. Green Beans.” He answered back. He already tried to think of vegetables that started with I but he was drawing a complete blank. Oh well, he figured he had some time and would come up with something soon.

Hunt tried to think of something to use for that one, chewing on his button lip as he tried to think it through. It took him a moment but he finally did think of something.

Ace nodded. “Nice job.” He complimented. He kept trying to think but he couldn’t come up with anything that started with I. He kept thinking, keeping quiet for a few. “Iceberg lettuce?” He guessed.

After games and games later, Hunt was officially tired out.
"I dunno how many more games I can think of. And I've only seen, like, 5 pigeons since we've been up here," he said with a chuckle.

"Well they're not gonna be flying this high," Vince pointed out, raising his hands in mock surrender after a glare from the teenager,"Just saying."

Nick kept quiet as they flew. He glanced back at the others occasionally but otherwise just listened to their conversations. After a bit, he seemed to be a bit unsteady. He’d drift down a few feet and then fly back up and he kinda wavered a bit side to side as wel.

Ace rolled his eyes. “Vic does have a point.” He Agreed. “Plus, Aren’t pigeons more of a city thing too?” He asked as they kept flying. He glanced up at nick and watched him for a moment, seeing something was weird.

"Hell if I know," Hunt replied to him, not yet seeing the problem with Nick, he wasn't paying too much attention to him and more so at the surrounding area.

Zar also noticed how Nick was flying and she frowned, looking behind herself at where Hailey was.
"Hey Hailey, I think something is up with Nick," she called to the other girl.

Hailey, who had been scanning the ground, looked up and looked towards him. She noticed right away that his flying was off. Furrowing her eyebrows, she flew faster to get up to the front of the flock to check on him, wanting to make sure he wasn't in pain.

“You’re supposed to be kinda smart.” Ace reminded him. He glanced at Hailey as she flew up to check on nick, figuring he was probably fine.

Faye glanced at nick when Zar said something. “That’s really strange.” She Mumbled.

Nick kept flying, not saying anything about his growing headache or how he was tiring out. He thought he was flying and could keep going for however long until they all needed a break. He noticed Hailey come up and drifted further to the side to give their wings space.

Hailey flew up next to him, of course not too close. Looking at him she could see that he was sweating and looked paler than normal.
"Nick are you alright?" she asked him, concern written all over her face.

"I'm not that smart though. I'm game smart," Hunt replied with a chuckle.

It took nick a bit longer than it probably should’ve for him to reply. “Yeah. I’m good. Did you want to land for a break?” He offered to her slowly. It was like it was taking all of his energy just to think and get a response. He shook his head slightly but that only made him feel worse.


“dude. You’re part bird. You should really know the habits of some birds.” Ace teased. He smiled brightly at him and kept flying. He glanced around for a place to land, thinking that Hailey would want to take nick down to the ground.

"Nick I don't think you are good, you look really out of it," Hailey replied with a frown, glancing down below them. They were near what looked like a rural town sorta out in the middle of nowhere. Not the ideal place to land, but Nick needed a rest."Yeah let's go down, I think you need rest."

"Oh hush you," Hunt replied with a chuckle, now noticing that Hailey went up to talk to Nick who looked odd. He was flying odd, even he could tell that.

“I’m fine.” Nick assured slowly. He kept flying and after a moment, he just went limp and his eyes fell shut. His wings went limp too and he started falling.

Ace had been listening to Hailey. He glanced up and frowned slightly when he saw nick just start to drop. He quickly dove down to catch him and help Hailey.

Hailey was going to tell him again that he wasn't and insist that they land he could rest. But next thing she knew he was dropping like a rock. Like Ace, she was quick to rush down to him, grabbing him first around his waist with both arms, but he was too heavy to carry in midair, her wings couldn't handle it. Luckily, however, Ace was right there a moment later to help.
"Guys! Get down here, we're landing! Now!" she yelled up to everyone, panic clear in her eyes. Why had he passed out like that?

"Holy shit," Hunt cursed and went down too, Vince following soon after.

"Come on," Zar said to Faye, motioning her downwards. Was was wrong with Nick?

Nick was out cold and didn’t even stir at the sudden jolt of them grabbing him.

Ace put his arms around nick. “I got him Hailey. I can drift down with him.” he assured, trying to keep his wings from hitting hers. Nick was a bit heavy and it was a little hard to hold him but he was mainly there just to slow his fall to something reasonable where they could get him down without him getting hurt.

Faye frowned and followed. She moved near Cass and Vince, seeing they both were a little freaked out.

Hailey looked at Ace when he said that and nodded, swallowing thickly, but didn't let him go just yet.
"Land as close as you can to that patch of woods right there. We don't need people seeing us," she said, looking at Nick. She smoothed his hair back gently before finally letting him go, staying along with the two of them though in case something else bad happened.

"What happened?" Zar called up to them from where she was with Faye and the kids.

"I dunno, he just...dropped. We're taking him down there," Hunt replied, pointing to the spot as he continued to fly down, also staying by Ace and Nick in case something else happened.

Ace nodded. He flew down quickly, not wanting to keep nick in the air in case he woke up because then he’d probably jump and fight against him. He shifted how he held nick. “Land first hailey so you can take him and get him on the ground?@ he suggested.

Faye kept up with the younger two and Zar. “He’ll Be Fine.” She assured, both to them and to herself. She flew down and landed off to the side of the others, quickly closing her wings so they could help with nick if needed.

Hailey stayed right next to them as he took him down, taking his suggestion and landing. She would be able to carry him for at least abit on the ground. Folding her wings in, she ooened her arms for Nick.
"Give him to me," she told Ace, wanting to check out what had happened.

"Why'd he fall like that though?" Victor asked mostly to himself. He was worried. He landed with the other girls, reaching over and holding Cass' hand.

Ace handed nick over before landing and quickly shutting his own wings. He reached in his bag and grabbed his water, knowing they had to get him to wake up and some water might help.

Faye looked over at victor. “It looks like he just passed out. He was flying kinda weird and then he just passed out so he dropped down.” She explained softly.

Cass held onto his hand and just watched what happened quietly.

Hailey took Nick when he was passed over to her, holding him a moment before setting him down. She knew it was his leg, it had to be, it was too infected. He needed an antibiotic for it, pain killers weren't going to do much for him anymore.
"Nick, Nick wake up," she said, giving him a few small slaps on his cheeks, nothing to actually hurt him, just to get his attention.

"Oh...that's never happened before," Victor said with a frown, staying close to Cass.

Zar didn't land all the way, she was going to but then thought better. Instead, she hovered a few feet in the air, flapping her wings gently and just enough to keep her airborne. Her feet would hurt too much on the ground.

Ace crouched down with Hailey beside nick. He moved to try something he’d seen on tv once on some medical show. They had made a fist and rubbed against a person’s sternum and it woke them right up. He figured it was worth a try so he did it.

Nick stirred slightly. He grumbled and moved to get away from the touch, not opening his eyes right away. He slowly blinked his eyes open and glanced around slowly.


Faye nodded. “Yeah but he’ll be okay. He probably is just a bit tired or something and that’s what happened.” He reassured gently. She glanced up at Zar. “Want me to take your stuff and set it down?” She offered to her.

Hailey watched what Ace did, seeing that Nick stirred from it. She let out a breath of relief since it seemed he was waking up, watching as his eyes opened.
"Nick...hey, you passed out," she informed him, moving so his head was in her lap so he might be a bit more comfy.

Zar looked at her, biting her lip.
"Can you actually...carry me over to that rock over there?" she question, not having enough skill to land that gently yet and she certainly didn't wanna try to land on a hard rock right now with her feet this way.

“Just taking a quick power nap.” He lied easily, not recalling that he’d just fallen from the sky or anything. He smiled gently st her and groggily looked around.

Faye nodded. “Yeah. I think I can do that..” she landed and held her arms out, reaching to hold her so she could carry her over there without her feet having to touch the ground at all.

"Oh you asshole," Hailey said, but she chuckled after she said it, sniffling a bit. She had been pretty close to tears, her best friend did just fall out of the sky. That was enough to put a damper on anyones day. She reached over and gently ran her hand through his hair, just needing a second.

"Thank you," Zar said, getting as close to her as she dared and put her hands on her shoulders, slowly closing her wings. Once in Faye's arms, she wrapped her arm around her shoulder, glancing over to where Hailey and Nick were."Oh Faye, look."

Nick watched her quietly. “What?” He asked faintly, feeling like he had missed something and it must’ve been important based on how she was acting. He closed his eyes for a moment at her touch, biting his lip lightly.

Faye held her up gently. She glanced over. “So it takes him passing out..” she commented with a smile. She carried Zar over and gently set her down on the rock.

"What do you mean what, you scared the hell out of me Nick. Give me a sec to make sure you're alive," Hailey replied with a chuckle, but her heart was beating about a million times in her chest right now. She hadn't done something like this to Nick since he was a kid and got food poisoning while in the School. She had been very worried about him then too, just like now.

"Hopefully this will lead to something later," Zar replied, grunting when she was placed on the rock and sighed a bit, smiling softly at Faye,"Thank you."

“No.. what happened?” Nick asked slowly, watching her. He could tell she was extremely worried. He just didn’t know why she was so worried. He bit his lip lightly and stayed looking up at her.

“I sure hope so.. I hope he’s alright first though.” Faye said softly. She gently set Zar down before sitting beside her. She watched Hailey and nick together.

"I just told you, you passed and almost ended up flat on the ground," Hailey replied to him, smoothing his hair back once more before she finally took her hand away,"I think your infection is getting worse. We need to get you some antibiotics before it gets any worse."

"I do too. I hope we can figure out what caused it," Zar replied. None of them but Hailey knew about his wound after all.

Nick watched her. “Huh. I don’t really remember that..” he mumbled faintly. “I’m fine Hailey. Don’t worry about it.” He reassured gently, watching ace as he went to check on victor and cass.

Ace checked on them and reassured that nick was fine.

“I’m sure Hailey will tell us.” Faye shrugged. “This seems even weirder though. Cause she seems to know what’s going on it looks like.” She observed.

"No, you keep tell me not to worry about it, but what if this happens again Nick? We might not be able to catch you. So, you need antibiotics that I will get you, understand?" Hailey said, her mommy voice in full effect now. She wasn't taking no for an answer this time, it was going on too far. She would even get antibiotics for herself if that's what it took to convince Nick to take some.

Hunt looked over from where he was, seeing that Nick and Hailey were talking. So that was good.

"Yeah it does. Those two always seem to know what's wrong with the other though," Zar replied.

“Hailey. It’s not like you can just walk in some place and request antibiotics. You know that.” Nick reminded her. He shifted slightly and sat up, moving and facing her. “I’m cleaning it. Putting the antibacterial stuff on it. There isn’t much else that I can do about it. I’ll be okay..”

“True.” Faye Agreed. “That’s cause they have all sorts of late night talks and whatever else.” She commented. “Plus it’s momma version of Hailey. She can notice most anything..”

"I know that, which is why I'm gonna steal it. All my years at the school has taught me a lot about pills so I'll know which ones to get and how big of a dose you should take. So we'll wait until tonight, I'll go into town, get the pills for you, and me since I'll probably need some too if I don't take care of this before it gets bad like yours too. And I'm not taking no for an answer Nick," Hailey replied to him.

"Yeah they do. And she's certainly in full mommy mode, must be telling him she's gonna do something and certainly not taking no for any answer," Zar replied.

Nick watched her. “We’re still kinda near the school. What if you get caught? If you get arrested or something we’re screwed. “There’s gotta be some better way to go about it.” He Mumbled. He tried to think of some ideas but nothing was coming to mind. Plus, he was just struggling to think. He felt way too tired.

Faye nodded. “Yeah. Except she’s being too quiet about it so I don’t know what he’s being lectured on.” She commented.

Nick sighed. “Antibiotics are kept locked up. SWhich means you’re that much more likely to get caught.. there’s gotta be some better way Hailey,” He argued faintly, his response time still a little bit slow.

Faye watched. “She’ll get her way. Whatever it is she’s after.” She smiled faintly and shrugged.

"It appears to me that Nick is getting his ass chewed out by Hailey," Hunt said to Ace from their spot, wanting to go over and check on his buddy....but not at all wanting to get into the middle of all that. He valued life too much.

"Oh yes she is. I'm not worried about Nick, he's harmless. She isn't," Hunt said, hearing Hailey's words,"Good luck buddy."

"And now they're fighting....again," Zar said with a sigh,"Well it was nice while it lasted."

Nick cursed faintly when she got up and walked off. “Hailey.” He snapped softly. He forced himself to his feet, nearly falling but he kept himself upright until his vision stopped spinning. He followed after her, favoring his leg but he didn’t complain or act like it bothered him. She was more important. “You know I trust you. Don’t play games like I don’t.”

“Yeah..” He Mumbled. Ace nodded and stood to help Hailey. He watched nick when he came after her.

“They fight. And then one runs off. The other follows and then they’re usually fine enough.” Faye shrugged. “Has nick been limping for s while?”

"Oh, yup and there is goes," Zar said with a heavy sigh, use to this by now so it didn't really phase her,"Um I've noticed something up with the way he walks and moves, but I don't know what it is."
