Hailey glared at him when he said it wasn't bad, because it was. It was far worse than the one she had. She cleaned it up as best she could, that starting to activate it bleeding again, but she did her best to keep that at bay so he would be able to stitch it, which she would not be able to watch. At all.

Nick didn’t move, keeping his face hidden and taking slow breaths. It definitely hurt but he did his best to keep quiet about it, not wanting to worry anyone. He glanced at the wound finally as it started bleeding again. “We can just bandage it. Stitch it later..” he mumbled even though he knew it would be harder to heal then.

"You know as well as I do that that'll be worse," Hailey replied to him with a shake of her head, thinking,"If you can't do it, I can get Hunt over here. He knows how to sew okay and stitching isn't much different than that."

“The last thing I need is him puking on my leg. No thanks.” He Mumbled. He sighed and closed his eyes for s moment before forcing them back open, grabbing the needle and thread that he needed. He got the needle set up and looked at the wound carefully.

"Okay, just tell me if you wanna bow out and I'll go get him," Hailey said, dabbing away the blood. When he got the thread and stuff ready though, and quickly turned her head away, not wanting to watch that. She was more likely to puke on his leg then Hunt was at this point.

“Just go check on the others hailey. I’m fine.” He promised, waiting on her to get up and leave. Once she did, he shifted slightly and pulled the collar of his shirt up over his mouth, biting down on it as he stitched up his leg carefully, not wanting to make a sound or worry the others.

"No, I'm fine. They're just sleeping," Hailey said with a shake of her head, knowing she couldn't do anything, but it made her feel better being back here with him. And that was good enough for her. She shifted her weight a bit and just sat in front of him, looking at the cave wall.

Nick tried to stay quiet as he stitched. It took him longer than it probably should’ve but his hands kept shaking, making it harder to make the stitches neat and tight how he wanted them. He finally finished them off and wiped his bloodied fingers on his jeans before wrapping it up in a bandage. “There..” He Mumbled to hailey

Hailey did eventually reach back to touch Nick's non injured leg, just as a comforting gesture. When he did finish though, she looked over at him and got a rag from inside the kit.
"Your forehead is sweaty," she noticed.

“Hmm. That sucks.” Nick mumbled. His hands shook badly but he didn’t try to hide it, just letting them shake as he put the extra supplies back in their kit. He glanced st Hailey, biting his lip.

"What's the matter? Does it hurt?" Hailey asked, reaching over to help him put the stuff away. He also had lost a lot of blood too so maybe that was making him kinda dizzy, if that's what he was.

Nick shrugged. “I’m just tired.” He explained. He was exhausted, partially from the stress and everything from the day, partially from the blood loss. The pain didn’t help either but it was just sore. It wasn’t quite as painful now.

Hailey nodded and got up real quick, getting a packet of cookies that Hunt had bought earlier that day and some Gatorade that she had been sipping out of.
"Here, drink and eat this and then you're gonna take a nap," she said, offering the items to Nick.

Nick thanked her and took the food and Gatorade. “Can’t I sleep first? Then eat?” He questioned softly, not even hungry now. He glanced to Hailey and watched her carefully for a moment, still worrying about her.

"I know that's what you wanna do, but those will help start to replace all the blood you just lost. You don't wanna sleep before starting that process back up again," Hailey replied. It did help growing up in a lab sometimes, they picked up quite a few things about the human body and medications and such there. She sat down criss cross in front of him, watching him to make sure he ate them.

Nick sighed and nodded. He opened up the cookies, taking one and offering it to her after taking one for himself. She hadn’t lost as much blood as him but she still needed to eat too. So he’d just share with her since he didn’t want to eat at all.

Hailey gave him a pointed look when he offered one to her, but she did take it, not able to deny that she had lost some blood too. Just not as much as Nick had. She ate it slowly, glancing over at the other 3. Hunt seemed to have fallen asleep as well so there was quite a lot of snoring going on over there.
"I'm glad we got them back before anything serious happened," she said, looking over at Nick,"What was that thing about me anyways? What they wanted to do with me and Zar?"

Nick shifted and leaned against the cave wall behind him, eating his cookie. He bit his lip at her question. “I’m glad we got them out too.. they wanted to see what would happen if your and Zars dna was mixed with human dna. Or another hybrids dna..” he said simply, not wanting to say that they pretty much wanted to get the girls pregnant just to see what would happen. That was just too weird and unacceptable for him to think about.

Hailey listened to his words and frowned a bit, thinking about that.
"Huh, that's weird. Why would they want ours specifically?" she said, sorta thinking out loud. It was confusing, but at the same time nothing those wack jobs did made any sense to her. She just accepted Nick's answer, finishing off her cookie.

Nick sighed. “Because you two are girls of around the right age. Because they’re twisted bastards. I don’t know..” he mumbled Tiredly, not wanting to talk about it. He watched Hailey for a moment.

Hailey was even more confused at Nick's words, furrowing her eyebrows. What did them being girls have to do with it? And right age? Now Nick was just confusing her. Shaking her head, she motioned to the drink.
"Drink some of that and then you can go to sleep," she said, getting up from her spot. She went over to where her makeshift bed was and got him a pillow and blanket, since Zar was sleeping in Nick's bed.

Nick didn’t try and say anything more about the subject. He didn’t want to talk about and Hailey didn’t need to know about it. He wouldn’t let her be captured again or anything so it wouldn’t ever happen to her. He sighed when she told him to drink the Gatorade too but he listened and downed a few sips of it. He put the lid back on and set it by the cookies.

Hailey waited for him to be finished and then set the pillow down on a spot that he could lay comfortably in, but so he could also be facing the front of the cave. She figured he would prefer that. And then she put one of the blankets down so his torso at least would be comfy.
"Lay down," she said, moving the cookies and Gatorade down next to the pillow.

Nick watched her for a moment. He moved the pillow so it was right by her before just laying down. “Don’t go far..” He said faintly, looking up st her. He shifted and settled down after a few and closed his eyes. “Wake me up in a bit and I’ll take over keeping watch...” he told her softly.

"I won't," Hailey replied, covering him up with the other blanket that she got for him, nodding at his words,"I will." She had no intention of waking him up of course, he needed more rest than she did. She just leaned back against the cave wall next to him until he fell asleep.

Nick settled down and put his hand lightly on haileys knee so he’d know if she got up. He fell asleep pretty quickly, not moving or making a sound.

"We are going the right way, right?" Victor asked Faye as they continued flying. Hailey had taken the map that they had so they were kinda going off memory. Well that and the towns that they flew down to check out along the way.

Faye nodded slightly. “Yeah. We’re going the right way. We’ve gotta be getting close..” she assured them. She wouldn’t admit her fear that the others had gotten captured or had gotten out and were already on their way back home to them just to not find them there.

Cass didn’t say much at all as they flew. She was exhausted and sore but didn’t even complain. There wasn’t any reason to, there wasn’t anything anyone could do about it.


Nick was keeping watch again, sitting perched up high in a tree. They were starting to get ready to head out, Ace and Zar rested enough that they’d be okay to fly for a while. He looked around quietly.

Victor nodded his head, biting his lip a bit. He was worried about all of the same things that Faye was, but he was also worried that they were going to pass them. Like, they were both taking a slightly different route and they would miss on another. Cause that would be terrible.

Faye looked around again and saw another town that looked familiar. She turned and led them a bit further from it, flying closer to the trees and caves. She was starting to tire which meant the other two were almost definitely getting exhausted.

Nick looked around and tilted his head, thinking he saw something. It looked too big to be a normal bird. He opened his wings and jumped off the branch, flying up higher to get a better vantage point.

Victor looked at Faye when she suddenly changed course a little bit, but he followed, trying to see what it was. When he saw something shoot out of the tree, he was a bit confused. Was that an abnormally large bird? But after seeing a bit more features, specifically that it was wearing shoes, he smiled a bit.
"It's Nick, I think," he said, looking over at Faye.

Faye kept looking around, knowing where they were. This area was familiar, they’d been in the caves before when they first escaped. If they hadn’t gotten the others and were planning to, that’s where they’d be so that’s where she wanted to check. She looked st the figure and watched it carefully. “You sure?” She questioned, seeing a bit of resemblance but she wasn’t sure.

Nick flew a bit closer but kept some distance for a moment. He saw that it was three people and dove back down to the cave to get Hailey. “Hailey. Come on. I think somethings up...” he told her.

"I think so. It's too big to be a bird, it's moving different than a bird too," Victor replied, watching as the figure moved down towards a cave.

Hailey, who had been packing stuff up, looked at Nick when he came in. She stood up and brushed off her jeans, nodding.
"Okay," she said, going to the entrance. She opened up her wings and flew up, following Nick.

Faye bit her lip. “Or it could be other hybrids. It could be a trap.” She said quietly, wanting to be careful. They weren’t as strong in a fight and were awfully close to the facility.

Nick waited for Hailey before flying back up high. He glanced at her and pointed out the other three before starting to fly nearer to them.

Victor looked at her, not even taking that into consideration. But he was so sure that was Nick. When the figure came back with another, he squinted to see who it was.

Hailey followed Nick up and looked at what he was pointing at, seeing 3 flying things. She raised her eyebrow and started towards them, knowing they weren't birds. They couldn't be. She was cautious, fully ready to zoom back down into the cave if needed, but as they got closer, more features were visible and she knew it was the rest of her flock.
"What the hell are they doing here?" she questioned as she flew towards them quicker.

Faye kept in front of victor and cass, watching the figure as it returned with a second person. She was pretty sure that it was them but she would wait and let them come to them rather than flying closer.

Nick bit his lip. “something must’ve happened.” He said quietly, quickly flying out there with her. H watched the three, looking them over for injuries.

Hailey nodded, doing the same as Nick as she got closer to them, just scanning them with their eyes.

Victor gt a bit nervous when the two figures started closer to them, but the closer they got, the more features were visible and he knew he had been correct.
"Nick, Hailey!" he exclaimed happily, flying towards them as well and going as close to them as he dared so their wings wouldn't get tangled.

Nick followed after them. “Hey.” He greeted, looking them over. He noticed how tired they looked and bit his lip. “come on. We’ll talk in the cave.” He decided, not wanting them all out in the open. Plus, they probably needed to rest.

Faye visibly relaxed when she saw Hailey. “I’m sorry. We got attacked. They found us near the cave. We didn’t know what to do so we came out here to find you.” She rambled off quickly, looking at her.

Hailey smiled at Victor, reaching over and ruffling his hair. She did the same with Cass when she came closer, only softer before listening to Faye's words.
"Hey, it's alright. You found us so that's good. Come on," she said, smiling at her as they started back towards the cave.

Victor flew with them, suddenly feeling even more tired though but that was probably cause his stress and worry had been overpowering it. Now he was just ready to rest.

Faye bit her lip and shrugged st Hailey, still blaming herself. She followed the others back to the cave. She landed and closed her wings, immediately heading over to Zar when she saw her.

Nick let the others fly down first and he followed after them. He landed on the cave mouth and stayed there, wanting to still keep watch to make sure the others hadn’t been followed.

Hailey flew with them back to the cave, staying with Nick towards the mouth of it though to give the others some space and, like Nick, to watch.

Victor went over to Ace when he saw him, reaching out to touch his leg.
"Are you alright?" he asked as Hunt went over to Cass and picked her up, checking her for injuries and also asking if she was okay.

Zar looked up when she saw Faye and her eyes widened, starting to standing right away, wincing from the pain in her feet. She still went over despite that and hugged her tightly.

Nick watched them quietly. “They look to be okay. But that means erasers found them there.. were gonna have to go somewhere else.” He said softly.

Ace nodded, looking up at him. “Yeah. Still a bit sore but nothing too bad.” He assured victor. He smiled faintly at him. He knew it was bad that they were out there but they were all together at least.

Cass set her backpack down as soon as they landed. She wrapped her arms around Hunt when he picked her up, leaning on him. She nodded that she was okay, yawning softly.

Faye hugged her tightly. “I got you..” she assured, frowning st the wince on Zars face. “Let’s sit back down?” She offered gently.

"Yeah. We're not gonna be able to go back home, I bet Erasers have that place surrounded," Hailey agreed with a heavy sigh. This certainly sucked, but it was a possibility that she had considered.

Victor nodded, rubbing his leg gently before taking his hand away.
"They didn't do anything too bad right?" he asked.

"Just sleepy huh? You look sleepy," Hunt noticed, holding her and swaying back and forth slowly.

Zar put her face in Fayes neck as she hugged her, nodding at her words but it was a moment before she actually removed her arms from around her, keeping her hand on her arm. She started back over towards Nick's bed, where she had been before, limping a bit though. They all healed pretty quickly, but her feet were just killer.

Nick nodded. “Well start over. We’ve done it before. We can do it again.” He assured Hailey. He leaned against the wall, giving his leg a rest. It was starting to heal but it definitely hurt in the meantime.

“Nah. Not too bad. And we got out pretty quickly honestly.” Ace replied, shrugging at victor.

Cass nodded slightly, staying in hunts arms. She rested her head on hunts shoulder, closing his eyes.

Faye let her go for a moment. She frowned and sat down with Zar, putting her arms back around her. “I’m sorry..” she said gently.

"I know. It's just gonna be a pain in the ass," Hailey said with a heavy sigh, looking over at him,"I don't wanna go back towards that way and we need to get away from California. Where do you suggest?"

"Good," Victor said simply with a smile, glancing around the cave.

"You can take a nap, it's alright," Hunt said to her, rubbing up and down her back quickly as he continued swaying back and forth with her.

Zar went right back into her arms once they were sitting down, leaning her head on her shoulder.
"Why?" she questioned, looking up at her. She didn't think she had anything to be sorry for.

Nick shrugged. “Up north somewhere. It’s nearly summer. We can use that to regroup and go from there...” he offered softly.

Ace nodded. He glanced over the others. He moved and got up. “Here Hunt. You can let her lay down and sleep.” He offered.

Cass nodded. She glanced over to nick, half wanting to be in his arms but Hunt was close enough. She closed her eyes and it didn’t take long for her to fall asleep.

Faye shrugged. “You getting taken. Taking so long to get you out. Everything..” he said softly.
