he'a kinda just annoying. The way he thinks he so grand and that Gemma is just a stupid teenage girl.

yea i know. i don't remember a lot about him and i've only read the first book.. so i'm not that impressed with his attitude.. but i guess his character fits in with the attitude of many men at that time...
Oh his character definietly fits in and I think adds to the book and the feel of it. You would have to read more of the books really to get a good idea of what he is like though, there's not much in the first book.
Yea, exactly.. I'm hoping to read the second book soon, but there's so many books I want to read and NOT enough time to read them all :P
I'm into Rebel Angels now. I'm like a little more then half way done

Well not every book is for everyone, so you may not like it.
I finished Rebel Angels the other day and I really liked it. If you ask me, there wasn't enough kisssing in it though...lol :)
Her brother was full of himself. Big time. Jerk. But it wouldn't be historical accurate if he coddled her. So, I am torn. However, I didn't much like the first book. Something was lacking. It has been a while. I might have to re-read to make sure I didn't like it. Something about her not learning about her mistakes and making all the choices because she personally wanted to. Ugh, giving teenage girls a bad rep. Her having all of that magic like that is just scary. Hermoine was responsible and smart. Gemma, ah, can't say that for her. With that said. Now how the hell did they get around so easily. One glass of sherry does not put that big women out.
After all that. I need to defend myself. I give the book 3 stars. It was ok but lacking in a few areas to make it strong.

I know what you mean about Gemma not learning from her mistakes. She always caved way too easily under peer pressure and let the other girls dictate what she did, even when knowing she shouldn't do it. I like a character with more backbone.
I agree, she lets them order her around and pled with her until she does whatever they want
Yea i know eh. I didn't really like that either. She was too much of a pushover, letting the other girls do what they wanted and letting them make decisions for her.
Backbone needed. Maybe she should use her new found magic that she doesn't know how to use to create a backbone for herself.

I'm with you on that. Some books just are inbetweeners more then others. The one that tend to need the .5 are the ones that get rated lower.
I know, I always have books that I like better than the ones I rated three stars but didn't like enough to rate them four either.

I liked Rebel Angels, but then again I liked the first book too. It's not my fav series, but I'll still read the others I think

Same here, liked them but definitely not one of my favs. I did love the covers though.
YEah, the cover's are awesome. :) I liked the Rebel Angels one a lot.

Yup, Rebel Angels is a bit better then the 1st book. I think be writing skills are developing along with the plot.
