Has to do with a young boy and a blind green tiger that's telepathic and they end up traveling to the Tigers home world, It was still young and when it got to its home planet it's eyes started to open like a kittens.

Has the boy and tiger getting into a space saucer on the cover. The boys parents took them to the planet.

This book is at least 30-40 years old.
