I wish we would have gotten more time with The Haunter. I know he was bad but his part was interesting and I like how he ended up in a barrel. Lol
I was a bit confused, at first, as to why Leif and Nick couldn’t get out of the barrels. Then I realized its for the same reason Allie couldn’t get through the steel door of the factory. Lol, when I finally got it, it was like a lightbulb came on!!!
I know we’ve left her behind for now, but how do you feel about Mary? I’m not her biggest fan but at the same time I get were she’s coming from. I believe she does some of what she does to keep everyone safe, at the same time I think it’s partly to keep everyone dependent on her.
Can’t wait to read Part 3!

I feel SO bad for Leif and Nick! Poor things locked in a pickle barrel. Hopefully they'll get out in Part 3 because I really like the interaction with Allie and the boys.
I'm kinda torn about Mary. I can understand where she's coming from but I feel like she's holding something back. I'm curious to find out if there's a twist to her character or story. I did like the backstory about her brother. That was so sad. I wonder if we'll ever find out what happens when you sink...do you just get stuck like the kids in the barrels or what happens?
I haven't been able to read all week because after work I've been helping out with VBS (a summer program for kids held at church). It's a week long event so I won't be able to talk tomorrow. However, this format seems to be working with communicating our thoughts about the book so I hope you don't mind if we skip Thursdays online discussion.

I can’t wait to find out who or what The McGill really is and all the things it can do. Allie’s reactions with Leif and Nick are great and I think they all do better together, so I hope she can rescue them.
No problem with skipping Thursday, I can understand with you helping out with VBS. I enjoy this format, b/c I can message you while it’s still fresh in my mind.
