At least my oldest likes to read. He's my beta reader for some books I'm not sure I want to read. lol

He's eleven. He loves fantasy. We share books now. He also like dystopian. His favorites are all the Rick Riordan books, Hunger Games, Divergent, but he'll read some other books if they catch his interest.

I don't think I've had any friends that have been more than 5 years younger than me.
I just realized that we don't even know your name but 'Bookbuyer' is used so naturally lol like it's your real name.
He really does love to read. HE has ADHD and when he was little and got super hyper we would put him in a corner with a book. We told him it wasn't a punishment. It would just help him sit still and keep his brain busy. We started that summer before kindergarten when he was four. By the time he started kindergarten, he was reading Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing and Ramona and Goosebumps. By first grade he was at a 7th grade reading level. Now we have trouble finding books that hold his interest at his reading level without to much graphic violence or sex.

I talk to people a lot younger than me on here. But here age is not usually a thing. I usually have no idea how old someone is if it's not stated on their profile.

He always steals mine. lol. He goes through my library books as soon as I get home. He has a card as well, but rarely uses it. He's lazy and lets me pick whatever since he isn't picky.

It would just help him sit still an..."Same with me, I was 6 or smth and I was reading all the brutal historical Armenian books or the sad Armenian stories that were assigned to my sister who was older than me. and for years I couldn't find anything to read and I hated books, I was like there is nothing to read, who would waste their time on this, until I came across Harry Potter I was 10 I think by then and fell in love with it. but after that again i started to hate book until i read the Twilight NO JUDGING yes I loved it and I was 13-14 thank you very much, and then again hate it, until in 2012/3 found this book called kissing booth and again fell in this cycle this time For EVER!

But there's also a lot of others like that. In YA books it seems like possessive-type boyfriends are common.
Confession I ave read the first three Harry Potter books repeatedly but only skimmed the other four. I really need to actually read them.

He has a kindle and gets a lot of ebooks from our library, but really likes holding the actual book. He gets distracted with his Kindle. Like if the physical book isn't in his hands he starts thinking about everything else in the room.

I was like that for a long time. Hopefully he grows out of it since ebooks are the way the market in trending towards. Still love a good physical book though. My goal is to own a million of them by the time I die. :)

Haha niiice!! Many people don't realize that Edita is my real name. In Armenian though we love to change each others name shorten name or add something to show familiarity. So that's why I write Edit~A, A is there but not really, cause while I love my name I hate when people call me Edita sounds too formal, while Edit is the version that is used mostly. But that's for Armenian or Russian speaking people, cause in English edit is just weird lol it's just like my sister calls me 'copy paste edit' I didn't realize that it'd be hard for people here to pronounce my name, so I started to use my sister's nickname for me I was like it 'edit, just with a, just like copy paste edit function' :D I asked couple of them to call me edit but they said it's just sounds wrong lol so i have to deal with that A now

Right! I love Netgalley. As he gets older his ADHD gets better so probably in a couple years, he can handle it. Plus at our high school, every student gets an iPad to do work on, so he'll have to get used to that whether he likes it or not.

It's just so ingrained in our culture now with the copy/paste/edit thing. It would be like calling someone Apple (which is also an usual name.).
