Hope it gets better!
It won't XD If anything I'll get so bored I'll stop listening, and then get behind and get confused and continue to not listen :p
Maddison wrote: "It won't XD If anything I'll get so bored I'll stop listening, and then get behind and get confused and continue to not listen :p"lol.
Oh well, I'm almost finished. And even if, after uni, I don't like my job, there's no way I'm going back to a learning institution. I'm so done with learning shit. 16.5 years in a row is enough for me.
Maddison wrote: "Wow that's interesting. Do you want to travel?"No. But I watch a lot of foreign dramas. So I want to learn Korea, Japanese and Chinese.
Plus I want to re-learn French and maybe learn German. :)
Maddison wrote: "Oh wow XD That's a lot."I already know a tiny bit of each. Just want to learn more. :)
Maddison wrote: "Awesome go for it."I've been considering trying to audit. Might take the final steps to do that.
Maddison wrote: "Trying to audit?"It'll depend on when I can go and where also my anxiety. Haven't been in school for almost 10 years. :/

But this there comes a time when I want to clean my TBR, and again I choose the BRs that match my moods. I don't force myself to read smth they I don't want to read :)
Maddison wrote: "But what do you mean, trying to audit?"Just dropping in on a class that is open to audits. My mom mentioned that as a first step for me. :)
Rae wrote: "Just jumping in here!!! go for it Bookbuyer!... *exits stage left*..lol"lol. Thanks Rae! ^-^

Korean is super easy. You can learn it easily. Chinese is hard. Japanese in the middle, but bends towards hard side lol
German IS HARD, French not really :D
I Love languages too!!! in Armenian there is a saying, word to word translation would be 'As many languages you know that's much of a man (human) you are', which basically means you are greater being if you know many languages lol

I completely agree with that order lol. I did take two classes in Japenese though so I at least have most of the Hirigana and Katakana memorized. The grammar really throws me off though. :S
I haven't studied enough German to know if it's hard or not. French is definitely easy. It helps I'm from Canada and took it from grade K-5. :)

I only have two months during the summer to get my reading done in between spring and fall semesters, so I try to squeeze everything into 60 days. When I was a literature major I had so much more time, but as a psych major, all I do is study and write papers. :/

I was the same. I graduated high school in 2005 and went back to school in 2015. I'm graduating next year. I put it off so long thinking I could never get back into the swing of school and decided to just jump in. I'm glad I did. Also glad I could take classes online. That helped so much.

It's really nice that they have so many options now. I think languages would be hard to learn online though. Although maybe they have audio with the classes?
Edit~A wrote: "Bookbuyer wrote: "Edit~A wrote: "I Love languages too!!! in Armenian there is a saying, word to word translation would be 'As many languages you know that's much of a man (human) you are', which ba..."That's true. I took Japanese for freshman and sophomore years in high school and German junior and senior years. My senior year a couple Japanese exchange students came and started talking thinking no one could understand them because no one around was currently taking Japanese.

Yeah same for me when it comes to Russian, like you in Canada, we kind of are born with it as a default language AFTER Armenian lol But to be honest it is a difficult language to learn, so i am glad that I got it the easy way. I want to re-learn Spanish, I forgot it. I want to learn Portuguese Greek Italian maybe French later as well. I tried to learn French but gave up on it lol I'm starting to forget Korean, which is bad :/ but I don't know what to do, I don't like the shows or the music anymore so I could listen at least to these so I won't forget it
✌ Ashley ☠ wrote: "Edit~A wrote: "Bookbuyer wrote: "Edit~A wrote: "I Love languages too!!! in Armenian there is a saying, word to word translation would be 'As many languages you know that's much of a man (human) you..."I took Japanese in Grade 11 and Grade 13? Originally there was only one class but I had to stay an extra year and they had added a second class.
I also took French all four years (There were only 4) and I took Latin for two years.
Wish they had had more language classes considered going to another high school that had different languages. :)
We also had exchange students come in but all they did was be helpful and have to say lollipop and other hard to say words for Japanese people. lol.

There are videos up for every class. You usually get a three our video lecture since the classes are 3 credit hour classes anyway. You have to get the same amount of time you would on campus for instruction. You have to have skype on your computer for language classes to interact with the professor

My high school offered Spanish, German, French, and Japanese. I work there now in the library and this was the last year for Japanese because the teacher is retiring. German was dropped a few years ago because they couldn't find a new teacher. The one I had went to different school to teach German and Russian instead of German and English. So now just French and Spanish. The French teacher is actually from Spain.

French isn't actually that widely spoken in Canada but it is still the second official language. .You could speak to a 100 people in a day and not meet a single person who knows more than a handful of words in French.
Quebec (Province), Ottawa, and one of the Maritime provinces being the exceptions.
Its is really hard to find any good shows after a while. I have watched so many that I eventually have run out. I'm desperately waiting for another good Korean historical drama to come out. I'm very sad not to have one currently.
We should be language buddies! We have at least one or two in common that we know or want to learn.

Haha no I gave up on Kpop and kdramas couple of years ago, but I was a fan since 2009ish, so I came a long way. The repetition of plots and songs just got to me

I always thought everyone in Canada spoke French. Of course, here in America we don't learn all that much about other countries really. Go figure.

Although at least Spanish and French are pretty similar. Sister languages.

Why is uni so boring. I can't even force myself to concentrate. Reading the textbooks are fine, but the lectures are just so droll.
