What is this month's (May's) book? This is my first time participating, and I've looked around and can't find a schedule. Thanks!

OK, cool. Leaving the country in a few days so I guess I will go ahead and order it and hopefully get it once I get back :)
For those who saw Peter's video, I found a playlist of the audiobook of Helter Skelter. I'm not sure how great the quality is or how long it will be available, but if it could save someone some $$ why not? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YDssm...
Hi everyone. I’m new to goodreads and joining the book club. I look forward to Reading along with this group and catching up.
Hello there :) So I just stumbled up this book called "The Sun Does Shine: How I Found Life and Freedom on Death Row" by Anthony Ray Hinton. I think it would quite an interesting read
American Predator: The Hunt for the Most Meticulous Serial Killer of the 21st Century by Maureen Callahan will be released July 2nd, if anyone is interested.
hello, I am new to goodreads and a book club in general, can't read true crime books but look forward to the next schedule.
Hey can we discuss finding another book on Manson?ive read helter skelter which I think is good but it is the viewpoint of the prosecutor. I saw the Tarantino movie Once Upon a Time and I think it will renew interest in manson. And there’s so many other interesting bits of info I found out that aren’t in helter skelter. Would be great if there was another more independent author.
I'll also throw in a suggestion to step back from serial killers and into politics with All the President's Men. It's a book I've personally always had on my list to read. It also has a great film adaptation as supplemental content for the month.
We are intending to explore all aspects of true crime. Right now we are in the midst of the Summer of serial killers . 🙂
Mel wrote: "We are intending to explore all aspects of true crime. Right now we are in the midst of the Summer of serial killers . 🙂"Sounds great!
I think we should read about Griselda or Pablo Escobar’s life! Maybe someone from the Italian Mob as well. Also Stephen King rocks! Any book we pick of his I’ll be down for!
The Good Nurse (I'm new to the communit y not sure where our suggestions should be posted...alot of threads suggesting "suggestions" or next reads) so not sure where the current thread is to post. Thank you for the opportunity to recommend a book. You got me reading again
I'd like to suggest Justice: Crimes, Trials, and Punishments by Dominick Dunne. Dominick Dunne wrote about the true crimes of the rich and famous, very, very thinly disguised as fiction.
He was a prolific writer; you might want to look him up and see what you think.
Killer Across The table was the same author as Mindhunter but a more recent book of his. The audio version was awesome! The narrator is the actor that plays Mindhunter in the show and at the end of the audiobook he interviews the FBI serial killer profiler/ author.
It was I’ll be Gone in The Dark level.
I think She Said: Breaking the Sexual Harassment Story that Helped Ignite a Movement sounds fascinating and is the disgusting true crime story of how the Harvey Weinstein sexual harassment saga was revealed...it’s on my tbr anyway but would be an interesting topic of discussion for the group!
Unbelievable could be a good pick considering Netflix is doing a series based on the case.https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/4...
I’m not sure if this has been mentioned yet, I just finished the latest Crime Junkie podcast and now I’m really wanting to read “on the farm” by Steve Cameron.
I’m not sure if this had been suggested yet but what about Limetown? I’m listening to a podcast covering that story and it is insane what happened.
Radium Girls is an incredible book and what happened to those girls is a horrible crime.Thank you for suggesting it, BB.
I think The Only Plane in the Sky: An Oral History of 9/11 by Garrett Graff would be a good choice for this group.
I want to suggest In with the Devil by Jimmy Keane. It sounds fascinating. It's about a guy who goes into prison trying to get convictions from a serial killer.
All of these are good books. I'd be remiss if I didn't an award-winning, reasonably short, easy read with some big ideas. It's called Never Too Late: From Wannabe to Wife at 62. Never Too Late: From Wannabe to Wife at 62 Take a look and see if it meets the criteria.
Oops! My bad. Marrying Richard was not a crime. Getting married at 62 is not a crime. No criminals were harmed in the making of Never Too Late: From Wannabe to Wife at 62.
Can I suggest: The Murders at White House FarmJeremy Bamber and the Killing of His Family. The Definitive Investigation.
By: Carol Ann Lee
Very creepy but interesting story. Also he keeps trying to get out as well.
Have y’all decided on April’s book? I’m just asking because Amazon is only sending out essential orders and book stores around my area are shutting down. I’d like to be able to place a book order before everything is shut down!!! Thanks!
I think it’s fun to watch the movie after I read the book, looking forward to Molly’s game! Are we doing a group documentary too? I’m down for that too
