Patrick Jefferys | 5 comments Hi All
I have not spent much time at all on marketing my book but on coming across your site I thought I would make a little effort.

My name is Hugh Patrick Jefferys, Pat for short. I received a 5 star review from a professional organisation. I set a blurb below:

Pat Jefferys, Senior Counsel, having received his Letters Patent from the State President, and a practicing advocate for many years, is remarkably well qualified to present this discourse.

His journey to faith was one of fact-finding; a typical lawyer digging out evidence and weighing it in the custom of the legal profession. Amongst other things, it was a humbling journey as he was moved by his research to wrestle with his preconceived ideas, ideals and beliefs in the face of accumulative new evidence.

In this work, Pat invites you to assume the part of a juror in the case for Christianity. He draws you in, to sit as a dispassionate adjudicator of fact and evidence. The challenge is not merely for the believer and seeker, but also the honest atheist, agnostic and followers of other religions and philosophies, therein also laying a substantive challenge to embrace or evade.

The book is a thorough and a fascinating resource that tackles questions about faith and Christianity through an analytical lens that uses facts, archaeology, science, philosophy, and the Bible to delve deeper into life, faith, and the universe, yet written in an easy conversational style which will take you on a journey through the birth of the universe, reliability of scripture, prophecies, accuracy, and truth. The book also delves into weightier topics and worldviews, with relevance to morality, and in-depth information that allows you to think deeper about Christianity and faith with the goal of providing answers to your doubts and scepticism.
The tone is educational and conversational which allows Jefferys to explain facts and theories with ease, thereby drawing the reader into what is a difficult subject these days. It provides fascinating information, of which most of us are unaware, and invites the reader to accept or reject the material provided.
A respectful work which will not only fascinate the reader but will leave the reader craving for more. It is available on Amazon Books as an e-book or paperback.
Will your judgement support or oppose the legal determination of “beyond reasonable doubt”?

Steve Hallblade | 2 comments Hi all!

It’s so nice to meet you all. My name is Steve Hallblade and I am the author of a recently (May 2021) published devotional, An Alphabet for Change.

This is an easy and accessible read that walks through twenty-six different attributes and practices that we can all learn to mature in our lives. As the title suggests, there is an attribute or practice for each letter of the English alphabet.

The book has a very conversational tone and includes embedded scripture throughout. It would be ideal for individual quiet times, couples, or even small group studies.

I have included the Amazon link below, should anyone have an interest.

https://www.amazon.com/Alphabet-Chang...

Feel free to reach out to me to say “hi” or ask any questions on my Goodreads author page. In addition, if you're on Instagram, I invite you to follow my page:

I am constantly posting to Instagram with excerpts and summary reels to highlight the attributes and practices contained in the book.

All the best,
Steve

We are simply pilgrims here on Earth, traveling through this distant land. However, what does the Lord want you to do while you are still on this earth? Why is Love the greatest commandment? How can you establish a relationship with the Lord and live a stronger prayer life?

Hi James,

If you're talking about my book on the Holy Spirit and Spiritual Gifts from the landing page of this thread, you've probably guessed this topic has been of great interest to me too. I started off with just the first book and it couldn't contain it all. Next, I wrote Book 2. Then, in response to reader and small group leader requests, I added a workbook to go along with Book 1. Still there's no end to these wonders or what could be written!

Stanley Holstein | 6 comments Hi all,

I am Stan Holstein and I love Jesus. I am a member-author. I'm not really new to this group, but didn't know what to do before. Thanks to Marja for a gentle nudge to get me going. I love to read, write, and talk about Christian non-fiction.

I have been reading a lot of seventeenth through nineteenth century Christian writers lately; mainly from books I have found online in the Library of Congress. They write with deep conviction and such humility.

I'm retired now and started writing about three years ago. I have three books, self-published, and am working on a fourth. The writing is challenging; but a labor of love.

The first book I wrote, Hope Through the Truth - Standing in the Gap in America, addresses the hope of eternal life we have through faith in Jesus Christ and the truth of God's Word to guide our lives. As I see the dramatic changes taking place in this land I love; the more I need to be reminded of the hope I have through the truth. This book describes these changes in America, our need for self-examination in the light of God's Word, and a reminder of our certain victory in eternity.

My second book, Twelve Gifts of Christmas - From our Heavenly Father, is very different from the first one. It is not about our homeland or earthly strife; but about our loving heavenly Father. If you were to choose twelve gifts your heavenly Father might place under your Christmas tree in a few months, what would they be? This book is about meditating on everything God has done for us through his Son and the Holy Spirit.

My third book is a Bible study guide based on the Twelve Gifts of Christmas book. Hopefully, the book covers are shown below.

When Susan introduced herself before, she mentioned one of her books, The Holy Spirit Spiritual Gifts: Amazing Power for Everyday People. Some years ago, Jim Cymbala, pastor of Brooklyn Tabernacle in New York City, wrote a book called Fresh Wind, Fresh Fire. It is about the working of the Holy Spirit in an entire congregation. It struck me as a genuine 20th century miracle.

I am interested in hearing from any of you about the your book recommendations and anything else related to Christian non-fiction books. If there is anything I may be able to do for you, please let me know. Thanks for having me.

The twelve gifts of Christmas book sounds like a great gift for any family member or friend. We could do a Christmas book section, why not.

When it comes to Jim Cymbala's book, I read it. An incredible testimony of God's power indeed. I love to read books by the old revival preachers such as Finney, Wesley, and Wigglesworth. They inspire and encourage me!

Joseph Patrick | 7 comments Hello Stan,
I recommend my book for review in exchange for one of yours. Mine is called: "Seven Churches on Trial: A Revelatory Review of Church History."
It is based on Chapters 2 and 3 of the book of Revelation. It demonstrates that the historic Asia Minor churches bare characteristics resembling all churches throughout the history of Christianity including our present age. The book is written in a way and manner that models Jesus' critique of his church therefore some controversial criticisms are expected.

Katherine Bradbury | 7 comments Hi! My name is Katherine (Bradbury) Barclay and I just found and joined this book club a few days ago. I hope this book club is still viable as the most recent posts are several months old.

I just published a Christian Non-Fiction memoir, “Triple Exposure, You Are What You Hide” by Katherine Bradbury. I was engaged to Roger D. Edwards, a top brass United States Navy Captain who committed brazen and egregious crimes. I worked with the Marines and the FBI, as well as against the Right Reverend Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Maryland, Virginia, to make sure the captain didn’t do it again.

The book has a 17 photo gallery at the end but don’t look at the pictures first or it will give away some of the story. It’s available for purchase on Amazon, Barnes and Noble, Indigo.ca, and any international online bookstores. I would love to get some reader reviews from this group after they finish the book. We are just finishing up the audiobook and it will be available as well very soon.

May the Lord bless each reader!

Kenneth Litwak | 4 comments Hi, my name is Kenneth Litwak (Polish for Lithuanian Jews living in Poland). I'm not Jewish, since my mother wasn't. I am a trained academic, and most of what I have published is academic. However, I want to use my scholarship to serve the church. (I never obtained my goal of a full-time teaching job, which is a constant spiritual issue for me.) My first non-academic book, The Gospel in the Marketplace of Ideas, was co-authored with Paul Copan, known for his books on apologetics. I am almost finished with a final author edit of my first solo book. I haven't decided on a title yet, but it's about learning to pray Scripture, specifically, the Psalms, the prayers and prayer teachings of Jesus, and the prayers and prayer teachings of Paul. One thing I want to find, or create here, is a Christian nonfiction critique group. I've been in two critique groups, but everyone else wrote fiction. I don't have a novel in me. :-) I started a website over a year ago, kennethduncanlitwak.com. I haven't tried to go further with publishing my book because I can't even seem to get sign-ups on my mailing list or subscribers to my blog. So, I'm not ready to publish, but I'm not at zero either, and unsure how to go forward. My background: 30 years as a computer programmer, and then 7.5 years as a reference and instruction librarian for a seminary. I retired in May, 2023. I have other book ideas as well, but I'd like to get the first one out the door.

Unveiled Sky A Divine Revelation is a captivating narrative nonfiction memoir that chronicles the extraordinary journey of a modern-day mystic, set against the backdrop of a serene 40-acre organic vegetable farm in Avondale, Colorado. Guided by the triune essence of God, the Father, the Son, and the blessed Holy Spirit, the memoir explores the transformative power of a mystical awakening and the profound connection between mind, body, and spirit.

Larry David | 2 comments My name is Larry David. I'm a former Army Ranger and a lover of Jesus. I wrote a book this year out of obedience to the Lord. I kept putting it off not believing I could write a book and give Him all the glory. On March 29, 2025 I finally gave in and after 5 or 6 hours threw in the towel. I told the Lord I wasn't capable. The next morning at church our pastor preached a message and three times said if God is telling you to do something do it. My wife looked at me and told me to get after it. On March 30th I prayed and felt the Lord tell me He would be with me all the way. He was. On July 27th I held my first printed copy and released my book on Amazon on August 1, 2025. First time author, self published did my own proof reading, copy editing, and even designed my cover. No promotion and the book has done very well. God is faithful.
