MaryEllen (mherrera2nd) | 90 comments Okay, so I'm on page 20ish and the crash just happened. I have to say that the cover kind of mislead me. For some reason I was thinking the book was going to be about a younger set of kids who were related. I thought they were brother/sister - oops, not the case. I also thought they were about 9 or 10 in age - another oops since they are described as around 14.

Even with those misconceptions, I'm liking the story.

Edshara | 43 comments I agree, I assumed from the synopsis that Nick and Allie were related. I’m only on page 23 and so far they don’t read like 14 year olds. I believe I was expecting younger kids too, lol. Looking at the cover again they do look a little older. But I am really enjoying this so far. I was hooked from the opening sentence.

MaryEllen (mherrera2nd) | 90 comments I finished Part 1 this weekend. :)

MaryEllen (mherrera2nd) | 90 comments I'm sorry I missed our Thursday book talk. I totally forgot until I was getting ready for bed and noticed the book on my nightstand. :(

So, what are your thoughts with the first section?

I really like it so far. I love the whole idea about being trapped in an inbetween area. I don't have a problem yet with any of the characters. I can't wait to see if/when they get to their home what they find out. I'm curious to see if they'll find their family or if anyone else in their family died as well.

I haven't started section 2 yet but hope to get to it tonight. :D

Edshara | 43 comments I’m so sorry!!!!! I never got notifications for your posts, on the app or on the computer. I just assumed no notification, no post, so I didn’t check. I’ll make sure to check regularly from now on.

So I really enjoyed Part One too. I like the characters, especially Leif. I will say I found it really sad that they forget their names, but overall I really like the world building. It’s such an interesting story, I’m eager to see what happens next.

MaryEllen (mherrera2nd) | 90 comments Yes, I love the overall world building too and the need for them to keep moving or finding a dead spot. Leif is one of my favorites too.
