Old series, new author and name

A series is being moved from one author's name to another (two different pen names). Same books, different names/author. Is there any way to combine/move/merge the old series with the new so that the reviews can stay? We don't need to hide that the books used to be something else, just add the latest editions as the primary ones with the other editions still visible.

Just to note, only staff or the GR author* can set an edition as primary.

*All books get the author name they were originally published under set as the primary author. So if the original author name is not a claimed profile, then the author will need to contact staff by email to have the new edition set as primary.

What I'm hearing is that once this merging is done, the author will have to contact your staff to make the new edition become the default. Thank you, Miriam, for your advice.
