Help! Cannot remember this book name!

It was set on a ranch in Australia - I remember there was a very intense scene in a barn when the woman ran out into a serious storm to check on her animals and the man was frustrated. Likely from the 70s or 80s. I must have read it a hundred times in high school and cannot for the life of me remember the title. It seems like she was running the ranch or trying to. I'm sorry this is so vague! But its been driving me crazy for years and I finally found a spot where maybe someone can help me out!! Thanks in advance!
