I thought I saw you on the street wearing your red "Make Terminal Coffee Great Again" hat.

I think we've all gotten busy doing other things. But I still care about Terminal Coffee. This group has been here for me for 13 years now when I have a question about recipes, literature, or poop.

And to think, they are so often related . . .

Scout (goodreadscomscout) | 3595 comments You guys are doing a great job of addressing current issues.

message 74: by Cynthia (new)

Cynthia Paschen | 7333 comments Jesus Scout, how are you helping us?

message 75: by Scout (new)

Scout (goodreadscomscout) | 3595 comments By addressing current issues.

message 76: by Scout (new)

Scout (goodreadscomscout) | 3595 comments This group has devolved into one that makes lists without any discussion. What did you eat? Your favorite fast food? What's your bedtime? What are you reading? It's all superficial, signifying nothing. A far cry from discussing issues of the day, anything important. The word discussion no longer applies.

Cynthia Paschen | 7333 comments Thank you Phil.
Today the boneheads in the Iowa legislature passed a study bill requiring Iowa public school children to sing at least one verse of the Star Spangled Banner each day, with the option to opt out and the requirement to stand.

I'm the kid who wouldn't stand, and would end up in the principal's office. Fine by me. I was always there for one thing or another.

Cynthia Paschen | 7333 comments You and me both, buddy. Tinker vs. Des Moines Public Schools. Black Armbands forever.

message 83: by Scout (new)

Scout (goodreadscomscout) | 3595 comments Mods Sally and Lobstergirl: You could rejuvenate this group by introducing controversial topics and inviting free discussion and debate. That would be more interesting than this pablum.

message 84: by Phil (new)

Phil | 11837 comments If someone wants controversial topics, I'm sure there are social media platforms that would be a great fit.

message 85: by Scout (new)

message 88: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) Greetings all. Many moons since I last visited this realm. I see some of y’all are still in the windmill tilting business. Some things just resist change. It would be great to spend time with this group once more. Cheers!

Guten Abend Felix. It shows you only have two comments but when I click further, it shows 24,227. Is someone tilting windmills? I guess I'm not paying attention.

The tilted ones cause less lethal cancers.

message 92: by Cynthia (new)

Cynthia Paschen | 7333 comments Nice to see y'all.
I have a question:
What is your favorite analogy?
My long time favorite:
Q: How did your marriage end?
A: I don't know, I think we just stopped watering the plants.

My new favorite is courtesy Iowa Senator Tony Bisignano:
"So, when we start criticizing people who dug the ditch because they didn't dig it right, look at your clean hands. You didn't help."

message 93: by Scout (new)

Scout (goodreadscomscout) | 3595 comments Since you lock your doors at night to keep your family safe, why shouldn't our country lock its doors/protect our borders to keep our citizens safe?
