It's time to vote for our September Classic Selection!

Please select a one book from our Classics Bookshelf and place your nomination here.

Please refer to our Books Already Read shelf so that we don't nominate previous selections.

Let the nominations begin...

Tony Villatoro (tonyvillatoro) The Scarlet Letter

...because it's been on my shelf and I haven't gotten around to it.

message 3: by Diana S (new)

Diana S The 39 Steps (Richard Hannay, #1) by John Buchan The 39 Steps by John Buchan

message 4: by Julia (new)

Julia (juliastrimer) Waiting for Godot by Samuel Beckett. We haven't read a play since I've been in the group.

message 5: by Martin (new)

Martin Saldivar I would like to recommend George Orwell's 1984. Being new to this group I'm not sure if this was nominated previously but this is definitely a book that I will be reading soon.

message 6: by Eugenia (new)

Eugenia (medetomasi) | 25 comments I agree with Julia, it would be a good idea to read a play. I'd like to nominate Death of a Salesman?

message 7: by Elsbeth (new)

Elsbeth (elsbethgm) I'll second The Scarlet Letter. It's also on my TBR.

that's OK!

message 12: by Greg (new)

Greg I nominate Carmilla by Le Fanu. I've never read it, but I've enjoyed several of Le Fanu's short stories. His wonderfully lush writing style appeals to me, and this vampire novel predates Dracula by 26 years. It was written in 1872.
