(view spoiler)[I was eager to finally meet Evelyn because the first chapters are good at building interest, and I was dying out of sheer curiosity! And now that we met her I want to know why she wants Monique and only Monique to write her story.
What I don't get is why Monique lied to her boss. I mean, I understand that is not a good thing for her job, but it is a once-in-a-lifetime thing and you should catch it! (As Evelyn said more than once), and I think that even if her boss will get mad, she would also understand the situation. Who wouldn't do it??
Anyway, once Evelyn starts telling her story she gets all the attention, the book is captivating and it is quite hard to put down!! (hide spoiler)]

Definitely didn’t expect Evelyn to be old, I thought she’d be young! And she talked about dying whut?

I don’t really like Evelyn so far, it’s annoying how she won’t answer questions and is spinning the story - who says she’ll tell the truth about any of it anyway? It’s not like her husbands will be able to back it up since they’re all dead right? Why has no one questioned that before wtf.

She’s exactly like Don and I don’t get how Evelyn doesn’t see that; she might not hit her but her emotional abuse and guilttripping is the same.

I just cannot like Celia for some reason. Again now, Evelyn does a sex scene in a movie with Don and she can’t handle it?? I mean, Evelyn supports all of her movies but Celia just can’t accept hers and I think that she’s a bitch for it. I don’t get why Evelyn doesn’t see her hypocrisy and Celia's bad treatment of her. Holy fuck okay so first Celia dies, then I really liked her brother & he died, THEN CONNOR DIES OF BREAST CANCER??? Dude wtf so many deaths all of a sudden, the pacing in this book is so off omg. Since breast cancer is hereditary I’m guessing Evelyn's dying of it too?

Seriously, it was Monique’s father who died in the car accident? Loved that her and Celia got married btw that was cute. Ah yeah no surprise, breast cancer indeed. Man, she’s going to kill herself and Monique is just not going to do anything? Not sure how I feel about this.

I don’t think it deserves all the hype tbh, I didn’t love it at all. It was interesting, and the romance between Celia and Evelyn was sort of heartbreaking - but I just didn’t like any of the characters??? Monique didn’t have enough depth to be cared about and the others basically all sucked but for Harry. Poor Harry. Not a happy ending at all, that’s for sure. (hide spoiler)]

I had the same problems with the other book I have read by this author, Daisy Jones & The Six, but at the moment I am liking this one better, at least! :)

And I am not the biggest fan of Celia, but since she is back in the picture I really hope they would have more luck and more happiness this time around.
Rex was interesting, and I liked him, and their wedding was a good thing, even if it was fake. At least this time they both were honest and they both get what they wanted out of it. I really enjoyed this part.
But my interest is not always here. Sometimes is high and sometimes I am just bored. (hide spoiler)]

Yep, I think that I won't read more books by this author, this is the second I have read, and the feelings are the same: not bad, but my interest is there just for parts of them, and I am not really so taken, even if I like the way in wich she tells her stories. I just don't care a lot about them.
