I agree and also (view spoiler)[ people focus on the fact that she was gay throughout this book “still not sure about her sexuality I haven’t finished the book yet” but I feel like the book is more than that, using her body as a tool, and the abuse and her friendship with Harry, and the sneaking around with other celebs who try to ruin each other and the workers who expose secrets of their employer’s homes.. there’s so much in this book that isn’t about a 70 something year old amazing celebrity who no one knew was attracted to her own sex (hide spoiler)]

Something tells me that she wanted Monique to write her story due to Monique's piece about assisted suicide. It was kinda obvious Evelyn & Celia were involved, but the story is just beginning so let's see how it develops. I have to agree, poor Ernie, I felt a little bad for him. Don Adler, wow, what a piece of crap, throw the whole man away! It's unfair that Evelyn career is going down because he is a selfish a-hole, but I'm glad she was able to leave him (hide spoiler)]

I did quite like the ending, I'm glad Evelyn and Celia got to live together in a more quiet place and at least have the last years of Celia's life to really be together. And her daughter had the opportunity to heal after her dad's death...I also liked the relationship between them and Celia's brother, that he really became a part of their family and someone for Evelyn's daughter to look up to. I did expect that Evelyn would end up taking her own life somehow but still...it hits quite hard especially since we only know that it is happening but we're not there in the scene, I think that somehow makes it more eerie and effective than actually describing it, for some reason. All in all I really loved the writing in this book and Evelyn's character was really fascinating, how she wasn't simply a victim but also a player in the game of Hollywood. (hide spoiler)]
