Tim | 8539 comments He said he was paying it forward too. :)

message 83: by Jim (new)

Jim | 21812 comments When travelling about I will occasionally stop at one of the burger vans at the side of the road for a bite of dinner. At one, I was in the queue waiting to be served. One chap had just been served and the second customer stepped forward, with a handful of change he dumped on the counter. A breakfast cost £3.50 and there was only £3.30 there, so, tattooed, pierced, unshaven and smelling of engine oil, he asked that the chap serving just give him a bit less. One didn't have to be a cynic to jump to the conclusion that he wasn't short of money because of what he had been giving to the widows and orphans.
Yet the customer who had just been served dropped twenty pence onto the heap, smiled and left. With twenty pence he had made the day for all of us.

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments I like to look for opportunities to do a bit of kindness. It's as easy as letting a tired, harried Mum in front of us in a queue or reaching a high shelf for an OAP. Just holding a door for someone.
I think it's as simple as being aware of the people around you. It's easy to become self centred and only concerned with yourself.

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments Sounds
1. Dave's laughter.
2. Water running into a bubble bath
3. A popping cork.

Philip (sarah) Willis | 4630 comments The smell as my banana loaves baked.

Started making Christmas cards.

Ordered one of Shaun's sculptures.

I gave a young lad who was begging in the street a couple of quid and suggested he buy a warm drink, a few minutes later Phil was ranting as we saw him going into the bookies, I laughed and said....I hope he wins and I genuinely did.

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments Which sculpture did you order?

I can't decide which I want. :(

I hope the lad won, too.

Shaun (shaunjeffrey) | 2467 comments Positives: sold three calla lillies today (thank you Sarah for being one of the buyers).
Opened a shop on Folksy
Finally sorted my website too.

I also made some more calla lillies today, but I'm awaiting more wooden bases before I can finish them!

I browsed the internet for similar items, and found some, but they were priced much more than mine. As in £160. Mine are £39.99. I also found single ones selling for over £30
