3. I can still afford food this month

2. My mouse wasn't broken - it needed new batteries
3. If I come last in the writing competition at will be better than not entering

2. The sun is shining so the five I've already done may dry before I have to start packing.
3. The flat smells of fabric softener.

More or less my policy too.
Well, probably a more polite version of my policy.

1. I just got back from a week in Wales - with a suntan as well!
2. In two weeks' time I am off to the Isle of Wight for another holiday.
3. I just finished the post holiday washing and the rest of Saturday is now my own. :D

2. Have done most of the housework so can spend the rest of the evening reading/watching TV
3. Can fit into a pair of jeans I couldn't do 3 weeks ago, so didn't have to buy another pair today

2. There are some rather tasty-looking lamb chops about to go in the oven.
3. I've got a new hardback book to read in the bath and it only cost €5.

2. It's a beautiful 90 degrees (32.2 celsius) here in the Southwest US desert and I love the dry heat
3. I finished another book today and am always happy when I finish one (I'm so far behind)

2) The bolognese I made yesterday turned out to be delicious
3) I managed to get plenty done before an early start at work this morning
I also (as an addition) successfully gained the trust of a suicidal patient and persuaded her that hospital was the best place for her. It's the first time I've been successful at coaxing someone to come (the last one attacked our ambulance with a broom handle!).

After today's shift, this has been a bit of a tough one but I think these positives probably aren't actually appreciated enough:
Day 5 positives:
1) I'm alive
2) I'm healthy
3) I have a loving family and brilliant friends

2. I can hear birds outside singing in the sun.
3. Dave just brought me coffee in bed again.

2. Our walls finally have a "certificate of dryness" following the outbreak of plaster leprosy this winter. I've never had a certificate of dryness before.
3. Black coffee, toasted teacake and apple juice for breakfast.

2. The fragrance from the sweet peas I picked from the garden...mmmmm!
3. Phil washed all the windows inside and out and it didn't rain.

2. Wrote a goodly number of words today
3. Pizza tonight!

2. Buster is acting like his normal self again
3. Homed a cat whose been looking for a home since Mar

Day 6 positives:
1) It's been a beautiful day for a drive around the North East
2) My sister's had a brilliant time playing zoo keeper
3) I'd forgotten how much I love candlelight.

1) Had an unexpected trip over to the West Coast
2) My flat's ready for the inspection
3) I have a restocked kitchen, can't wait to get cooking.

Yet the customer who had just been served dropped twenty pence onto the heap, smiled and left. With twenty pence he had made the day for all of us.

I think it's as simple as being aware of the people around you. It's easy to become self centred and only concerned with yourself.

Started making Christmas cards.
Ordered one of Shaun's sculptures.
I gave a young lad who was begging in the street a couple of quid and suggested he buy a warm drink, a few minutes later Phil was ranting as we saw him going into the bookies, I laughed and said....I hope he wins and I genuinely did.


Updates like 'A copper slug just ate a hole in the copper leaf' or something?

Finally sorted my website too.
I also made some more calla lillies today, but I'm awaiting more wooden bases before I can finish them!
I browsed the internet for similar items, and found some, but they were priced much more than mine. As in £160. Mine are £39.99. I also found single ones selling for over £30
1) I successfully cooked a batch of Bolognese in my slow cooker
2) I'm almost ready for my flat inspection next week
3) I'm in the phone book
