Halfway through june and I've earned 3 books this month already :)
First DNF of the year today. It's been so long since i DNFed a book, i don't even remember the last time.Denken ist dein Feind was just too weird for me and didn't possess any redeeming qualities that would have made me want to read on.
Only 2 pages short of earning book 4, damn it! 🤣

Earned this month's 4th book, but already bought 3 new ones 🙈 they are for work though, so i do have an "excuse" hahaThis brings my count back up to 9 books that i bought, but still have to earn.
Last day of the month and i earned my 5th book for june :)"Only" 8000 more pages to catch up with all my purchases... assuming i don't buy any more books in the meantime haha

I decided to add another layer to this challenge: i will earn a new book for every 5 physical books that i get rid of!I hardly ever give away books, so this also works as an extra incentive for me to part with the ones that i didn't enjoy and/or know i will never reread :)
(Since i started counting at the beginning of 2018, I'll include all the books I've gotten rid of so far.)
Since January, I've removed 27 books from my shelves at this point, which means i only have 3000 more pages to read until i catch up with all my purchases!
Got rid of 40 = 8 books earned!

It's been a while since I counted. I'd say around 900? And constantly growing... Definitely way too many books 🙈

About a quarter of them are unread. I've gotten sooo much more restrained with book buying already though, and the unread portion is getting smaller and smaller :)AND if I keep getting rid of books, I'll soon be subtracting from my collection! I bought 32 and got rid of 27, so i actually added only 5 books to my shelves this year!
900 is a lot! I probably have 300-400. And I'm paring it down as well, getting rid of things that I don't want to read again. Good luck with clearing yours out!

I haven't made a "proper" book purchase in forever and i felt like it was time for one! I used various websites, so I'll be getting lots of packages over the next week yay. The Gentleman's Guide and The Darkest Minds series are preorders, arriving in September and August respectively.
Finished another book just now and I've officially read more books in 7 months than i read during all of last year 💪2017 felt like one giant reading slump and I'm tentatively optimistic that it's starting to get better :)

I've also read The Unexpected Everything and Amy and Roger's Epic Detour by Matson. I liked both, but not as much as Since You've Been Gone. Plan to read her others at some point.
I'm curious if I'll agree with you once i get around to reading them :)

Unfortunately that can take a while sometimes...But i put everything down and started reading The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo and I'm absolutely loving it :)

I was home sick today, and spent the day playing Pokémon and finishing The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo. I didn't want to stop reading, the story captivated me right from the beginning!
Finished the outsiders by s. e. hinton and loved that one too! A really powerful story.
Earned my 4th book in july by (fiiiiiiinally) finishing the mark of athena!
"only" 11 books left to earn... I'm not sure I'll manage to do that before the end of the year 😅
