Beautiful illustrations, brightly colored/neon fairies that gather in a treehouse at night , protect the forest from darker fairy-like moth characters who are more sinister. Lead dark haired moth-like fairy is the antagonist. 1980’s/1990’s children’s book, but the fairy characters look older (not child-like). Hard to remember as I used to read this book over 30 years ago.

No, unfortunately. The characters are each a bright neon color, work more as a team.
Was it a picture book or a chapter book? Were there any humans in the story?
More picture book, I don’t think any humans
