I recorded the new one but haven't watched it yet since I've started re-watching the first season I'm on episode 9 and then I'll watch the new one.
I'm recording tomorrow's episode and doing a rewatch first. It's been a year and I need to relive it again.
No what I've should have said was that I have it set to record. I'm just a bit excited and didn't realize that it was Saturday LOL
Oh. Well I got busy, so will see it now. I read about the season a couple months ago and know they made some serious changes to this season from the book. Things that don't happen until later in the series. It will get some of the book fans' dander up to say the least.
I am going to do a Season 1 run-through, to savor that again, before I watch the recordings of Season 2, taping as it moves forward.
Well - I'll have to say that it was good to see Jamie again!! I was beginning to think the entire first show of the season was going to end without us getting to view his "awesomeness"!! lol I really enjoyed the show & since I haven't finished book 2 yet - any changes they made from the book can't bother me! haha
Since I watched the On Demand version, I also got to listen to Ron's producer's notes. He wrote the whole segment about Claire's return, which I thought was a huge missing in the book.
I also liked that he reorganized the sequence of events from the book as it was my sole criticism after reading it.
Lastly, he was asked by the STARZ president to make the transition from 1948 back to the 1700s more cinematic. So, he created that "handoff" moment where she goes to take Frank's hand as she descends from the plane and we then see Jamie grasp Claire's hand.

I'm only about 25% into the book but I do remember wondering how did she get back and what happened between then and the 1960's when the book started (I think!). I loved how they showed little Roger a few times. I'm assuming we'll fast forward at some point and see him grown along with Claire's daughter.
I had no problems with hoe this episode was written and filmed. A couple things I missed from the book. Trying not to discuss too much since there are people who haven't read Dragonfly in Amber. But one is pretty innocuous . In the book Claire tells Frank she was in the 1700's and married. She tells him she met his ancestor, Black Jack, "and what a bloody pervert he turned out to be". No biggie I just wanted to hear her say it. But later in the season Bree supposedly secretly follows Claire back to the 1700's. That doesn't happen until Voyager so I am concerned they are combining the two books into one season. That will absolutely force a lot of changes since the two books are about 70 hours of narration and this season is only 13 weeks. It also makes me nervous that they are worried about not getting a third season already.
I'm hoping they DON'T combine these two books!
What makes you think they're nervous about Season 3?

There was just this blurb I read as a tease for this season. If they are merging DiA and Voyager into this season, when Ron Moore originally said each season was one book, then maybe he thinks they won't get season 3 to get Voyager's story told? I can't remember where I read this particular tease but I will keep looking for it.

If you are watching the show you might want to wait a couple months before going forward in the book. I always like the book better, though I am not a fanatic like some fans lol

FYI, I just read a synopsis of Season 2. There are three fewer episodes (13 instead of 16) because they're not breaking up the season. And, it only deals with the second book.

"Brianna has secretly followed her mother back in time to find the father she never met and the family she never knew."
Guess we'll have to wait and see. Ron said he had to cut a lot from book #2 to condense to 13 episodes. I find it difficult to conceive how it could include anything from #3.
I agree. Unfortunately he isn't telling us much, so I guess I just watch for the next 12 weeks to see.
