Lol no loved the water scene. Actually the biggest fight was between Jamie and Jenny. There was conversations between Claire and Ian, Ian and Jamie and Jamie and Jenny that they switched around and the whole Granny at the mill is changed but everything that happened in the book eventually happened in this episode. I was really worried about how the heck they were going to manage that in less than a. Hour. Oh, and I loved the water scene. That was almost a full frontal we received of Jamie Fraser.
Speaking of frontal nudity...were we seeing Black Jack's penis??
I'm not referring to a fight between Claire and Jenny, just her coldness toward Claire. That's what I don't remember. I recalled the fight between Jenny and Jamie.

I thought the same thing. That was either his penis or a good visual effect. I think she was colder to her at the beginning then when Jamie was taken they had no choice but to bond.
I was wondering the same thing!!! Black Jack's pen...well, you know! It was clearly depicted - now whether it was fake or not, I don't know.
Then I thought, if they can show BJ's, why not Jamie's??? He covered up with his hand. LOL

Well I for one was happy to NOT see any nude women body parts tonight. They've had their turn. It was time for the men. Although I could have done without seeing BJ's junk!
LMAO! Especially poor Claire! She's been nude every week and I'm sure she was glad for the break.
I looked at some #Outlander tweets and many felt like you, Sandr re BJ's masturbation.

I loved this episode. And I kept saying Jamie move that hand! Didn't want to see Black Jack's either...Loved it when Jenny was laughing at him.
Oh I agree. This is the perfect Jenny. Ian as well. And yes the visual of BJ trying to get it up was very disturbing. I really wanted Jamie to move that hand. But it was very clear he was nude under that water...the shot went pretty low. This time Claire got a nudity break because poor Jenny had to show her ta ta's lol
Whew. Got through this episode three times today lol. While there was significant changes to the original storyline, the integrity held in this episode. Just the stuff with the Watch was new. DG posted it was half the same and half different. She was right. I can't believe we only have 5 more episodes this book. There is soooo much story left.
I was thinking the same thing, Dawn...wondering how in the world they can get the rest of this book in that time span.
I was leery going into this one, knowing the tough times ahead. Now, next week will be even harder.
In Moore's commentary, he said he put the Watch in there to contrast McLary and Jamie. Both were former soldiers of similar intellect and took two different paths, one Jamie could have taken but didn't.

Oh no doubt they will be pushing us through it. At least next season is already approved and we know we are going on to Dragonfly in Amber.
Oh I missed that commentary. That explains a lot. I just wasn't getting it other than to hurry along the capture thing. I wanted that original reason to be there but was not devastated by the changes.
Okay...I really missed seeing Jamie in tonight's show. :(
And either I'm really forgetting how this part went in the book or there were some changes.

I was actually really surprised that they changed very little. The relationship with the gypsies wasn't as acrimonious in the book, and Jamie's capture didn't have anything to do with the watch, but the rest was pretty spot on.
Guess I need to reread. It really lost me for a bit. Maybe because I was expecting some of the prison scenes tonight, I guess. And I thought Claire killed the redcoat in the book...
Oh...Thanks! I knew you'd know! :)
After the first few seconds, it was really more than I needed to see...I got the point. And the crow eating the dead guy's eyeballs - yuck!

Yea, but it was the guy who set fire to their hay, so it couldn't happen to a nicer guy. The scene in the book with the milk was more about their conversation. But they needed a boob count for this episode right? Lol
Uh oh, we need to watch our comments until then lol. I just realized we only have two episodes of this season left. If you think the breast milk scene bugged you, these next two weeks just might be harrowing to you Sandra. I snuck a peak at the previews and it looks like they are focusing on the rescue next week and then in the last episode we will see the torture/rape through Jamie's eyes in the last episode. I am not ready for it to be over!
It's not that it bothered me, Dawn...I just thought it zeroed in on her breasts a little more than was necessary to get the point across. Once it's clear what she is doing (& they made sure of that) then all I needed was the conversation taking place between her & Claire.
Can't believe there are only 2 more episodes. I know what's coming up & those scenes are necessary to the story. I am assuming they will be very realistic which may be hard to watch but again, they need to be included & real. I think it will add a big dose of hurt & reality for them to reveal what happened to Jamie by revealing it through Jamie's eyes.

I have to admit I'm really not looking forward to that but am anxious to watch it because Moore has done such a great job with the series.
I suspect, based on the flogging scene, that his recollection is going to be very intense and graphic. It was a particularly difficult thing to read, let alone watch. But I agree, it will have to be very real for the storyline. I agree about the focus, but it seems we must see breasts in almost every episode. People actually comment when they don't show any lol.
DG said they started shooting season two last Thursday. I am really hoping they don't split it up again.
Yay (to season 2 filming). I'm hoping they don't split it either, at least not for an interval as long as that for this season.
These next 2 episodes I'm sure will be really hard to watch. I had a hard time reading them...So glad they're filming the next season. Guess I better get that book finished...lol.
According to someone on FB, there will be 13 episodes and they will air consecutively. Yup Karen, you should get the book done lol
I finally finished the episode and agree with you, Sandra, about the breast milk scene. Once it started on one and then began on the other, I was thinking "enough." And, yes, Dawn, they had to maintain their boob count:)
Dawn, I'm not remembering Dougal being so doggedly determined to get Claire. But watching it is so different than reading it. Yes, his endgame is Lallybroch but I think Claire is a close second.
In Moore's commentary (always at the end of the On Demand segment), he indicated they didn't depart from the book except for the details regarding Claire and Murtaugh's gypsy routines.

I am not sure in the book he was so intense, but he made the moves after the gathering and again after the wedding. The scene in this last episode was almost spot on. I think Dougal really thought Jamie couldn't be saved and he wants Lallybrook. But I agree, he always wanted Claire as well. I didn't know he had a commentary after the on demand showing. I wait and watch it on tv. Now I may have to watch it early lol.
I had taped this episode and noticed the absence of the commentary. Accessed the on demand episode and just fast forwarded to the end:)
Omg! That was one intense episode. A change in the actual facts, but stayed true to the facts in this oRt if the book. Whew crazy shit.
OMG is right!! Very dark & intense. I think I held my breath through most of it! Wow - what great acting.
In Moore's commentary, he said he let the actors rehearse those scenes on their own and figure out their own way. All three delivered incredible performances.
Had to turn my head away from the nail scene.

Hard to believe it's almost over. What a ride - but a short one! And as bad as I hate Randall, I'll have to admit that he did a great job in those scene .Definitely a cruel, sick man. So sorry he got his hands on Jamie again.

How horrific that scene was! They did a marvelous job acting. I found myself drawn up, tense, & eyes on the screen while he was going.
