Outlanders Series Buddy Read - Beginning Aug. 2014 Spoiler Zone
I liked the tease. So, we know they will have the prison scenes because he talked about the song and dance troupe they go on.
He really is a creep - of course, we already know just how sick he is! I just can't believe the season is already over. :(
Yeah..all the way into Next Spring! I'm hoping to get another couple of the books read by then. I'm stalled in the middle of Dragonfly...not because I don't love it but because my reading time is almost zilch right now.

Yeah, that's my plan, too. I'm going to try to get two read during that time. I'm up to the fourth book.

Listening is so much better than reading when it comes to these books. I have read some of a couple of them, but listening is so much easier and more enjoyable. I listened when I could and loved every second.
Anyone besides me suffering Jamie withdrawal symptoms?? Saturday night & no Outlander continuing! :(
*sigh* Yes, there is that...I've seen it a time or two, or four, or ... well, you understand! But dang, it's disappointing to know there's nothing new coming until next April!
They roped us in like cattle! Hooked us with Jamie's gorgeous eyes & smile & maybe, well- his body - not that I've noticed, of course!...got us addicted and then left us hanging. It was a conspiracy! lol

I'm just 'fessing up...it's always been that kilted body for me:)

LOL! He is a thing of beauty, isn't he?! Man, Sam nails this role - he is Jamie. I'm not sure I'll ever be able to accept him in another role.
Me either. It's nice now to have him in my head as I continue listening to the books. He's it for me.
I've had to shelf Dragonfly for the month but I will return to it and continue over the winter. And you're right - that's a vision I can live with!
DG just announced she has signed a six-million dollar deal for book 9. Sigh...hoping it does not take another five years. I turned off my Starz this month, so no re-runs for me. I figure they will do at least one marathon in late March, so I'll pay again then.
I am making myself relisten to In Death all the way through so that is what I am doing today. Up to Portrait. Will catch up and pass the BR this week lol. By make myself, I mean every book in order...not skipping around. I caught myself missing some books that I liked a lot because in my weird memory, they weren't in my fave list.
This journey through the BRs of In Death is a reread in order for me also, Dawn...and I'm listening to most of them. I had never done that before. And I have also been guilty of just jumping around rereading my favorites.
I didn't start along with all of you, so I spent the past two weeks just listening to these books. After Portrait, I will be up to where I was when Ai jumped in, so I may go straight to Visions, but since I am doing nothing else right now, I might as well just keep going in order. I am getting to the point where I do my most skipping. Like Fantasy, etc...I generally ignore.
Because of the Outlander Series on Starz, I re-read all 8 books. And then I started them all over again lol. I never do that. But the characters in the series are so good, and such great casting, I read Outlander with those characters in mind. I probably had the biggest problem with Caitriona Balfe as Claire, but she has grown on me. I really enjoy the chemistry between Sam Heughan (HAWT!!) and Cait. But of all of the characters, Tobias Menzies has impressed me the most. What an amazing actor! He truly deserves an Emmy. I am enjoying that the series shows what is going on with Frank during the story, which the books either ignore, or mention casually. I know the author, Diana Gabaldon, puts a lot of effort into the research she uses, and I have taken the time to really read, to savour, the books. In the past I rapidly read the books, and often skimmed over her details. Now I have slowly read the books for pure enjoyment. Great books, gret t.v. series!
Wow Debra...that's amazing - rereading all 8 books. I'm on my first time and am 1/2 way through Dragonfly in Amber. I love the TV series & am very impressed with the filming & casting. Looking forward to its return.
Well, after all that voting on People's Choice Awards, Outlander was nominated in Sci/Fi movie category, but none of the actors.
I think it was Sci-Fi Fantasy...still bizarre. I wrote the series in in other categories, as well as the actors.
Yes you are right Jonetta. I did as well. This series seems to having difficulty with a genre niche. Even the books. Ie: Best Romance, which I do not see it as at all. I mean, there are romantic relationships, but I really do not see them as a typical romance. But then, I am not sure I see the BDB as a romance either.
That's the conundrum with Outlander...it's in multiple genres...historical fiction, historical romance, time travel (which I guess is fantasy or paranormal)..and for TV, that would include drama.
Feast your eyes on this: Sam...Jamie...whatever you call him, he is gorgeous!! (And so is she) I am so ready for more of the Outlander television series!!
Meantime, I'm getting back to the books trying to finish Dragonfly in Amber by end of Dec.

I couldn't find anything new...

There's a part where Randall is holding Claire against him (his chest, her back...yes, they are clothed), then it switches to Jamie sitting on the ground, thinking.(I think). It's a really short clip and then shows it's coming back on April 4. I'll try to pay more attention next time it's on.
Lol Sandra..,they are releasing a new one on the 4th of every month until April...Facebook and Twitter. You really need to connect to Social Media!
