A girl who can see strings attached to couples and uses her ability to help them find their soul mates- romance?

There's this book that I read back in middle school and for the love of me I can't remember the author or title.

It's about a girl in high school who has the ability to see strings attached to two people who are dating or have feelings for each other. It runs in her family. The red string means they are not meant for each other and the silver string means that they are soul mates. She spends her school year helping people get attached to whom they belong to. At the end of the book she ends up with a silver string that's attached to her best friend.
