I am so so so happy (view spoiler)[we got to see Nancy again! it's so nice to see that she's content and at peace where she gets to be now.

I actually liked that Nadya stayed behind, hoping to find her door easier there. I really hope she can go back. and while Cora thinks her only friend is leaving her it's obvious she found new friends in Kade and Christopher :) (hide spoiler)]

I'm obsessed with Seanan McGuire's writing and imagination !!!!

I never thought about (view spoiler)[ where exactly Christopher's flute came from, I just assumed he got it from his world. I never would have expected it to be his own bone, and that the skeleton girl just exchanged it because it had cancer.

it's so nice that Cora, who was sort of freaking out about all the different worlds that aren't hers or ours, stepped up and saved Christopher. twice, actually. and we found out more about Kade's Prism!

actually I feel like I got way too much information in this part and probably have forgotten half of it already...

like many others who have read this book (view spoiler)[I thought we would see Jack again to sort of resurrect Sumi. I'm glad they were able to find a different way to bring her back though. the Baker seems lovely, and I wonder if we might get to see her in one of the next books!

I didn't think we would get conclusion about Nadya - I thought we just were to assume that she made it back to her world eventually. in my opinion there was no need for the last chapter, but it was nice to still get a bit of a backstory to Nadya :) (hide spoiler)]

I liked book 2 more than book 1, but this one has really drawn me in. And I love the possibility of being able to go to other worlds in this one

Loving this book so far. I was worried that I wouldn’t like it as much because I loved book 2 but this has been so easy to dive into

i just read part one and i love how rini appears and how she just keeps asking why everyone is offended by her vagina lol the first time through i never thought i would read the word vagina so much in just a few chapters

up through the end of part 2 now, i might just finish it all today, these books are just incredibly easy to read.

i like how we get to see several different worlds in this one and also kind of get more into how they work. also so glad that they finally go more into the nonsense/logic thing and admit that you can have logical nonsense because that was like my immediate thought when they first brought up that system.

The diversity in the novels is great. I know it has been said and you are saying again. It seems so normal in the stories that you don't notice it unless you are looking for it.

yes i love how effortless it is. i mean that is the way it SHOULD be because that is how different kinds of people just exist in real life but a lot of authors it kind of seems like they make a big deal out of 'this character is X' like they want a pat on the back but all of seanan's books it's just like completely matter-of-fact

part 3, probably my least favorite bit of the overall story, although (view spoiler)[kade and cora are great when they rescue everyone (hide spoiler)] and i just really love that cora isn't about to let anyone make her feel bad about being fat anymore. honestly i'm rereading this at just the right time because i had to unfollow someone on tumblr yesterday for posting some fatphobic shit and it's been making me mad all day lol

aaaaand done! I really love how easy these books are to read and honestly 150-200 pages is like the perfect length book for me a lot of the time, providing that the author is talented enough to get through a whole story in that time. i do feel like it's kind of weird that (view spoiler)[every single person seems to be finding their doors home, because it was said before how rare that actually is, but seanan generally likes happy endings and i can't really fault her for that lol (hide spoiler)]

I finished today too!
I loved this. My favourite of the three. Being able to see into some new worlds, and find out more about the doorways was great. And the idea (view spoiler)[ that Sumi is back, and that we may get to see more of her is pretty darn cool (hide spoiler)]

I hope she writes 100 of these because there are so many stories she could tell about all these worlds and characters.

And agreed about the length - although it is a bit of a teaser in a way because I always want to know more lol

Rini - I absolutely love her! She is utterly hilarious! I have never seen the word vagina used so many times in such a short section of the book.

Christopher: I love that he kept Sumi's hands. It is odd but so like him.

So far, the book is off to a great start. I love that I am pulled into this author's books so quickly. I have never read a book of his before this month and I am fast becoming a fan.

Nancy - It was nice to get a glimpse of her world with her in it.

Nadya - Although she's not "home" yet, she is one step closer. They are all so sad that they can't get home so it is nice to see progress.

Rini - I wonder how her world figured out how to different worlds with her candy bracelet when nobody else knows how to travel between world at will. I am also a bit curious about why they want to arrest her in her world.

Confection - I love that everything is made of candy, bread or some sugary substance. The soda water is a nice touch. I loved the creation story.

Sumi - It is a nice touch that they have to rebuild Sumi. Now we get a glimpse of these different world.

Part I

I am so pleased we are back to the school and its surroundings. I absolutely loved the set-up for Book 1 and the moors in Book 2 just didn't catch my fancy as much. So definitely a star for the setting.

Plus, I love Christopher and Kade. I am so glad to see them come back and play a role in the proceedings. Nadya and Cora are also interesting, and while it seems like it is (view spoiler)[Rini's story (hide spoiler)], I would love Cora's mermaid tale and her world.

(view spoiler)[The way Rini appeared was indeed funny. Although, she is slightly grating on my nerves with her over-the-top behaviour. And what's with the selfishness? I understand you are disappearing and it sure is scary, but she has absolutely no care in the world for Sumi, and that is sad. (hide spoiler)]
