Kim (heyitskim) | 224 comments Welcome everyone. I decided to make a separate spreadsheet for our TBR Shelf because I thought having all of the planning and our TBR Shelf in one spreadsheet would be overwhelming. Let me know what all of you think of this idea of having separate spreadsheets for the challenge and our TBR Shelf. It would also be good to see the different categories that your planned books would be apart, in regards to the different rounds. :)

message 21: by Kim (new)

Kim (heyitskim) | 224 comments Also mid-June to late June, I have final projects and exams. So, I won't be as active in that timeframe.

message 22: by Maria (new)

Maria (mariasaleem) | 891 comments Hey everyone! Just checked goodreads after a while so sorry for my checking in late. I'll start reading after the 6th because . . .exams. Looking forward to a fun reading month with you guys!

message 23: by Maria (new)

Maria (mariasaleem) | 891 comments Good luck on your exams, Kim! Also, have the settings for the spreadsheets been changed? I can't seem to edit the second one. And the first one doesn't open at all.

message 24: by Maria (new)

Maria (mariasaleem) | 891 comments I might use Colorado's first description - with M, O, O and N in the title

message 25: by Ashley W (new)

Ashley W (readmewriteme) | 5038 comments Are we choosing states or just filling in as we go?

message 26: by Maria (new)

Maria (mariasaleem) | 891 comments The latter, I hope. Some of the descriptions are really specific and hard

Kim (heyitskim) | 224 comments ✌ Ashley ☠ wrote: "Are we choosing states or just filling in as we go?"

Maria wrote: "The latter, I hope. Some of the descriptions are really specific and hard"

It's more of a plan based on the books we read. We are filling in as we go, things could change. You could decide on what books you've been meaning to read and see which state description fits best or you could pick a state descriptions you want to acheive and find a book.

message 28: by Kim (last edited May 26, 2018 07:19PM) (new)

Kim (heyitskim) | 224 comments I just changed settings of the spreadsheets. I am sorry for making this complicated, I tend to be a planner.

Spreadsheet: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/...

TBR Shelf:

BTW, the TBR shelf is optional to use. I just find it helpful that if someone finds another book that best fits the state description, you could see and plan out other categories that can fit other states description. Hopefully, that makes sense.
Also these plans are tentative, so things can change.

message 29: by Kim (new)

Kim (heyitskim) | 224 comments LOL, I just realized we have to accomplish all of the state descriptions (all 100 state descriptions) before we move on to round 2.

message 30: by Kim (new)

Kim (heyitskim) | 224 comments Maria wrote: "I might use Colorado's first description - with M, O, O and N in the title"

You just gave me an idea.

Suggestionl: Since there are 10 of us, I was thinking each of us could take 5 states to focus on.

I just thought of that, but feel free to read whichever book you want with whichever state category fits best.

I suppose we could. I'll have to look at my books and see which one fits which and we could all discuss them here so our descriptions don't overlap or any of them skipped

Kim wrote: "I just changed settings of the spreadsheets. I am sorry for making this complicated, I tend to be a planner.

Spreadsheet: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/......"

Yeah that's a good way to know our current available options for the categories. Also put these links to the top so others who face a problem with the previous sheets might benefit from these.

message 34: by Maria (new)

Maria (mariasaleem) | 891 comments The thing is, I have to read books I left off in the middle due to exams and other stuff. So they would only count for the pages, not the categories, because I'll be continuing them where I left off.
So I might not use the "M, O, O and N" letters category yet . .

message 35: by Adam (new)

Adam | 18 comments Wow so that would be ten books to read in June.. yikes lol I was happy with 2 for California lol.

message 36: by Maria (new)

Maria (mariasaleem) | 891 comments Yep. That's why most of us are in Just For Fun, I guess. 'Cause it's all chill and read as many books as you want 😅 But I think while some of us read few books, others among us might be faster readers...so it would balance out?

message 37: by Kim (new)

Kim (heyitskim) | 224 comments Adam wrote: "Wow so that would be ten books to read in June.. yikes lol I was happy with 2 for California lol."

Same. The last challenge I did I only read one book, but I was with people who are fast readers.

Very true. If I had all the time in the world, I would be reading more books than I do. But, it's more relaxing and fun with Just For Fun teams.

Just read however many books you want, it was just an idea I came up with. I'm sorry if that idea intimidated you. I just find myself overplanning.
