Philip (burnnerman) | 5912 comments #622 - You should contact Support and have them move you and your book to a multi-space profile. You claimed the default single-space profile, where all imported books will be placed.

Being that there were that many book on the profile that were not your's they normally would not have given your that profile.

I just created an author's page yesterday. I have only published one book, A Life Less Ordinary. I have been merged with another author with the same name. All the other books (as well as followers and ratings--I am a total newbie) are not mine.

I think you are going to have to contact support to have that edition removed, since it has a valid ISBN and the cover clearly displays that name. A librarian isn't going to do it.

If you tell us the name of your book, or give a link to it, we can move it to a new author profile for you to claim.

If you tell us which book it is we can move it to a new profile, and then you can claim it.

If it isn't on your books it might not make much difference, as any new book of yours would probably have to be moved to your profile anyway. Goodreads uses extra spaces for differentiating same-name authors, so your name will change to having 2 spaces between first and last names. It doesn't affect anything but book sorting.

Thank you. I was trying to do the "join author profile" via the instructions on the help page, but I guess since it was already under someone else, the option wasn't showing up like in the instructions, or I simply missed something. Have a good one.
