The prevalent and pervasive Art of Exaggeration accelerates with each moment as each ordinary person, such as myself, strives to cover-up their inadequacies. In order not to admit that they, don’t know, or, couldn’t say, they go to great lengths to bluff their way into the eyes and ears of the public. To hide their simple thoughts they exaggerate . . . habitually, grossly, and to the general public, impressively. This has become standard practice, not just ‘normal practice’. It is the standard of professionals of every suit and acts as a camouflage for they who just want to ‘fit in’.
The young are especially prone for in any medium of popular culture one can easily find extreme examples of hideous and false exaggerations. When a pop-singer emphasizes her sexiness, or when a camera-director provides the most exciting fight scene that generations ago would have been mere slap-stick the public falls at their feet just as they fall for all exaggerators, politicians etc., in any walk-of-life.
I claim without giving specific examples that this is the case in every sphere of our common lives. It takes just one honest person to say so, even if you have to take my personal observation as a fact. Those who choose to be different, understate.
