Yes, I sure am intrigued and enjoying it so far. I had no idea what this book was about. All I saw was "Amy Harmon" and I was sold.

Up through chapter 25
I feel bad for Lark because she really does (view spoiler)[care about Tiras, wants to be a good Queen, and wants to help him with his changing. I can imagine how frustrated she'd be wanting him to be a man, home with her as much as possible, and yet he stays a man but gone taking care of business. (hide spoiler)]

Kjell (view spoiler)[is more caring than I originally thought too. I think he really does love Tiras and is only trying to protect him. (hide spoiler)]

Gwyn (view spoiler)[is somewhat of a comfort for Lark because she is also a teller and has gifts. I'm glad she was able to tell that Tiras has a gift but it's actually more than that. I hope that helps him. (hide spoiler)]

Lark (view spoiler)[I am so freaking happy that she got her voice back and that she had little Wren! She sounded just like Lark when she was a little girl. (hide spoiler)]

Tiras (view spoiler)[ I was so sad when I thought he'd died, but at the same time (since I'm a hopeless romantic) I thought he'd somehow come back. I think his "death" was inevitable and necessary so the people of Jeru could see that Lark was able to be queen. She found ways to be there for Jeru. (hide spoiler)]

Boojohni (view spoiler)[ was so loyal to Lark. I loved his character so much. I hope he's in book 2 (hide spoiler)]
