Nothing But Reading Challenges discussion

Team Severus Snape

Mmhh might be a little hard to catch up with the BOM to read at the same pace as them but as long as you can still participate in the discussion here and there even while you're behind, it's all good :-)
It sounds like an interesting book! I hope you'll enjoy it!

Mmhh, same for me. I used to read more of them and I regularly spy a few that get my interest but then I just don't read them.

Hmm, maybe we should see about reading a historical fiction in June or July? See if we can rope some more people from other teams into a BR?

I wish they would let you reply to a message from the phone app but they don't. Also, links would be nice.
I knoooow, it's why I hate using the app. It's really terrible.
I'll do a compare books thing and see what pops up. Or I'll just browse your shelves. Will be back with a suggestion or two in a bit! :-)

Oh, oh, Annalisa, I saw you have the Kate Daniels series by Ilona Andrews on your TBR shelf - read read read! They're awesome! Also, BRs for TT ;-)
Another series you have on your TBR shelf that is really good is the Black Magician by Trudi Canavan. I can only recommend it. YA but not quite the typical kind. It was well-written.

Hahaha :-p
I'm going to finish up my Dead Witch Walking today, which picked up its pace more from the middle onwards though the beginning may just have seemed slow to me because I didn't get much reading time last week.
After that, I'll try to finish up Mockingbird as quickly as possible. Quite an interesting read.

Second series I think you may have suggested last year during uno. So many suggestions on there I haven't gotten to yet.
Quite possibly! I regularly suggest that one as it doesn't seem to be one of the more popular choices of series to throw around as recommendations.
Mmh, the first Kate Daniels is a bit slow with setting the world and introducing the characters and all but the series gets better and better. Then again, I love everything they write. The Hidden Legacy series was fantastic!

Well GR seems to think we should be reading fantasy instead of historical fiction ;-)
The two books that popped out at me and that I also actually have on my physical shelf are Hello Stranger ad Moloka'i.
Other books I could suggest are: The Shadow of the Wind Labyrinth Nefertiti Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell
The last one is also a BR here that Kathleen is participating in. Start date is, I think, June 22nd.

Oooh awesome! I'm pretty sure someone will want in on that one. How long can you keep it for? Because I actually still need to read Devil in Spring *grin* but that won't be a problem. They're quick, entertaining reads. I like the characters.
That'll be enough time, I think :-)
Shall I go post in the BR request thread to see if somebody wants to join book 3 and 4?

I missed this....
Reading what?

Yep!
Anything you started after the countdown went to 0 - midnight UK, so sometime in the evening for you on the 11th - you can use. If you want to be on the safe side, anything started from the 12th onwards.

Hello Stranger as a buddy read.

I think I'm going to have to start making a list of what to read when hahaha.
I just signed up for June's BOM for Red Sister and volunteered for DQ. We'll see if I'll get them.
The book sounds quite interesting! I haven't read his Prince of Thorns yet, which has been on my shelf for years now, almost since it came out, oops, but oh well.
And honestly, could the paperback edition not have had a few pages more to push it past 500?? *shakes head*

Annalisa & Kathleen!
We have our reading partners for
and
:-)
Sally and Lisa from team Luna Lovegood are going to join. Well, Sally and I will be reading book #3 and then join you guys for book #4.
Start date for book #3 will be May 27th and start date for book #4 will be June 3rd. Unless Sally and I can't get to #3 on time, then we might push it back a few days, but we'll see when the date gets closer :-)

Stacie, dear, while you're updating ;-)
Don't forget to put all the books on your TT shelf, please! And then give me a link - thanks!

Stacie,
Sin at Sea doesn't show the same number of pages you mentioned in your completion post.
Is there another edition you could shelve? Or do we need to bug a librarian to fix the page numbers in case the page on GR has it wrong?
Eta: because the 152 on the GR page give us 5 points, the 168 you mentioned give us 20 points ;-))

It helps that GR shows who of your friends has marked a book as TBR ;-)
I'm keeping an eye out on the BR folder. As soon as the threads are up, I'll link them here!

It only starts June 16th, so we have a bit of time before it starts.
