I wthink so too.

You tell me? You've read it - I haven't :-)
But since it's Percy, I'm assuming that would work! I'll just need to know a little more to put for the reason.

All yours! I can't find a big clock.

Then, will this work for a car on cover?
Trail of Lightning (The Sixth World, #1) by Rebecca Roanhorse
And this for keys on cover?
Bitterblue (Graceling Realm, #3) by Kristin Cashore

E, there's been a load of chat about car v pick-up truck in the RoR - pickup truck has been nixed as "car on cover" (possibly this very book was the example?) You might want to double check...

message 2079: by Eldarwen (new)

Eldarwen | 13645 comments Mod
I thought pick-up truck had been accepted as a car on cover?! Since a pick-up, in my book anyway, is still a car, if a bigger one. Guess I read that wrong.... bloody hell, I'm starting to be tired of the back-and-forth.

BRB with an actual response, Kathleen!

And thanks, Cat :-)

message 2080: by Eldarwen (new)

Eldarwen | 13645 comments Mod
Sorry Kathleen! Pick-up truck is not a car, so you'll have to find something else.

Speaks volumes about how tired I am. I remember reading that paragraph where the mod jumped in and it did not register. At all.

3 more days. Only 3. Then I'm finally on holiday and can sleep and recharge. So desperately in need of it!

Where are you off to? Have a fab time! I'm looking forward to the bank hol on Monday - love a long weekend :)

message 2082: by Eldarwen (new)

Eldarwen | 13645 comments Mod
I'm not even going away, I'm just going to stay home, chill, and sleeeeeeeep. And most of all, not deal with stupid work people for two weeks. Haven't had an actual week off since beginning of February and I'm at the end of the very thin line haha.

Will be off to London later in September though for a long weekend :-)

Oh bank hol for you on Monday, that's awesome! Long weekends definitely are the best!

message 2083: by Cat (new)

Cat (cat_uk) | 10094 comments Mod
wow! no proper break since February? that's cutting it very fine for your sanity - at least in my experience!

chilling & sleeping sounds perfect too - minimal thinking required, which can sometimes be a downside of holidays - all that thinking about packing, then travel (airports - shudder!) & so on

This is our last bank holiday until Christmas now :( I'm going over to my sisters for a family BBQ on Sunday which will be fab - catch up with the siblings, niblings & my cousin & his girlfriend, with good grub too!

message 2084: by Eldarwen (new)

Eldarwen | 13645 comments Mod
That sounds amazing! :-) A good BBQ will also get my mood up hehe. I had one last Saturday with friends and I felt incredibly energised afterwards. (That feeling has long since vanished haha.)

We have one more bank holiday before Christmas - November 1st. But I have more days off planned for the next few months so I won't be running on empty like this anymore. Because you're right, it's been no good for my sanity hehe. (Even less for my patience!)

The thing with the packing... I actually do enjoy it but I'm always sitting in the plane, absolutely certain that I forgot something though I rarely seem to actually forget anything haha. Just an annoying feeling. Airports are loud, blergh, but people watching can be so fun! ;-)

message 2091: by Stacie (new)

Stacie (thesebooksaremyfriends) It's disappointing because I loooooved Uprooted but this had three povs, all in first person with no warning about switching except a wagon wheel graphic and I got annoyed. Add nothing going on for 150 pages and I was done.

Stacie (thesebooksaremyfriends) Kathleen wrote: "Noooo, I was looking forward to Spinning Silver too!"

If you can handle slooooow and multiple POVs with little warning, etc etc, I'm sure it's fine. I just don't have the patience for it. If it were one or the other, I'd probably stick it out. But at both? That's a nope from me.

LaurLa | 2378 comments Characters Spell-out Update :-D

Primary Characters - DONE (and in spreadsheet)
Major Characters - DONE (and in spreadsheet)

Characters - letters still needed
D - 6
L - 4
N - 8
R - 8
S - 4
T - 1
U - 2
Y - 5

With this many letters still to find and a decent chunk of TWT Tasks to finish, this weekend I will go ahead and place the Character level letters in the spreadsheet so we can tell which letters are most needed to complete a word so we can focus there the last week of reading. We get negative points for not completing a word, so if too many letters are missing it's better to not attempt the word.

In the meantime... READ READ READ!!!!
