Nothing But Reading Challenges discussion
Tower Teams VI

Team Severus Snape

Are the books we use for spells used for classes too?

So when you are finished, maybe you could mention what task it could work for too. Than captains will decide where they'll use it
E, do you want me to go back to posted book and see if it fits any of the classes task and add that one too?

That's probably left over from testing the sheets.

Yes, please! :-)
I'm going to do the same with my book as well.
Waiting for an official post about classes to post details here in the thread - I'm assuming there will be a post somewhere.

And I thought the yellow covers for UNO tasks were challenging! ;)
I know o.O The image on Goodreads looks so orange! But it is actually yellow in real life! I'm reading my dad's old physical copy. I ran it through tineye very quickly and that said yellow as well, though of course, tineye needs to be taken with a pinch of salt :-p

LaurLa, you don't know all the characters?? Shame on you.... ;-))"
Yes, it's my shame. I have tried to read all the books and memorize their characters but, alas, by body fails me and I must sleep sometimes. Plus, you know, if they're not a romance, why bother ;-)

I'm excited for the turquoise book though! (Turquoise sounds so exotic, I love how it sounds.)

I normally go for the unabridged version but sometimes (Stephanie Plum novels) I prefer the abridged version.

Unabridged is usually better since that is the complete book. But I guess as long as the abridged version is longer than 3 hours, so basically over the page limit, you should be good to use those, too.

I've looked at the spreadsheet and I'm going to be a tinny tinny bit confused by the classes. Transfiguration I'm not sure what exactly we need. Or the Collect Equipment. Does the item need to be on the cover?
Depending on how this needs to be found. The book I finished yesterday A Hope Divided could cover many things. MC is a healer during civil war, also sort of has prophetic dreams.
Nobody really knows quite what to expect of the classes yet as there has been no official information on them yet. We'll see in the days to come, I'm sure ;-) (Most of what we've added to our completion posts so far is based on guess work hehe.)
I think for Transfiguration, the items are supposed to be on the cover though.
The prophetic dreams would definitely come in handy for one of the classes though, so it's good you've already marked that down in your completion post! :-)
As soon as more information is available, LaurLa or I will give you a shout. I'm curious myself to see what exactly Sonia has cooked up for them!

Where are you finding the list of cover colors?
Sunshine wrote: "I saw that a couple of people finished there books. Are we posting completed books on this thread?"
No, as previously mentioned, we're posting the completion posts in this thread.
The link is saved in the important links on the first page of the thread, so you can easily find it whenever you need to post a completion post.

There's a tab on the team spreadsheet reserved for the classes. That's where you'll find, somewhere down the sheet, a list of cover colours we're going to have to read.
So far all info on classes is unofficial, but the cover colours seem like a safe bet if you'd like to read for one of those already?
Official information on classes and how/what to read for them should be posted in the coming days but getting a head-start on the things we do know can't hurt :-)

Glad you found your way here, Daniel!
Thanks for the link - all you need to know about tower teams, or what you need to read up on, you'll find on the first page of the team thread in the post with the billion links.
Unfortunately, we will not be able to use [book:The Bat|17345209] for this challenge as only books started AFTER May 12th count towards Tower Teams.
If you have any questions, give us a shout! :-)

Someone's asking if anybody's interested for a The Way of Kings BR in the BR request thread. I almost jumped in and say ME!

I have Monte Cristo on my plate already! Haha. Other than that I have Jonathan Strange (another chunkster) and I don't want to commit yet as I'm a very, very moody reader (how I end up reading more than 2 books at once). I have committed to 9 BRs and I don't know how much more structure I can take!

I still wanted Brandon Sanderson to write the sequel to Warbreaker before he continue his Stormlight Archive series... but oh well.
9? Wow, yes, that is quite a bit hehe.
I'm not usually one for this much structure either, which is why I often have trouble fitting in BOMS even though they're interesting and I want to read them. It's just when it comes down to having to read them, sort of, something in me often goes "nope!". (And then there's of course the whole challenge issue that doesn't always help with keeping a timeline of when to read what book ;-))

Count of Monte Cristo
The Bird and Stone
Court of Mist and Fury
Jonathan Strange
Jellicoe Road
Astonishing Color of After
Wizard of Earthsea
Circe
I hope I can stick to this BR !
