It's certainly not a short story as it is 11 hour long lol

11 hours for 142 would be.... quite a feat!! ;-) Slowest narrator ever haha.
Well then, LaurLa - this is more your territory hehe. Can you have a look, please? I think the kindle edition is in need of some updating... Thank you!!

There's a second one with a sword, and there's a deadly weapon on cover task as well. I think a sword applies to that hehe.
All good! :-)

Updated the Kindle edition.
Sanah, are you sure that's a wolf on your cover? Looks more like a snowfox to me..?

Thanks for the clarification: Greatly appreciated :)
Always welcome! :-)
Now, which ones do you want to snag?? ;-)
Eta: All the ones you mentioned in your previous post?

My brain gets all jumbled up in Uno and tower rules and I don't know what the rule is here?

Book 1: ABCD
Book 2: DEFG
Book 3: GHIJ
Book 4: JKLA
A B C D
L - - E
K - - F
J I H G
Uno and TT generally has the same rules as they're both operated by a NBRC mod ;-)
◈ No children's books less than 25,000 words.ArBookFind is a great site to double check. If in doubt, ask your captain. Another rule of thumb is the audiobook version should be over 3 hours.
Check if you can verify the word count on ArBookFind. I think that's the safest bet for that series, even if 3 hours is a good rule of thumb otherwise. But since this is middle grade...

No, not quite. We need to match the first and the last letter of the title. Basically, like the title relay, but instead of the last & first word matching, it needs to be the last & first letter.
Example from Task list: (It copy/pastes really badly, so I hope you can still see what it's supposed to be)
Wink Poppy Midnight
Waterfall
The Infinite Sea
Looking for Alaska
WINK POPPY MIDNIGHT

I know, it's a bit of an annoying site lately. I think there was another one but I can't remember the name now. Will see if I can find it again tomorrow in case ArBookFinder doesn't have it. (Getting late here.)

E, easier to say Book 4 in Cathy's example should be AxyJ, not JxyA, l'd've thought? (&Book 3 similarly switched)

Yeah, it's basically turned around from what Cathy wrote.
Book 3 and book 4 in the example aren't exact, but the idea is practically the right one.
It's easier to see with the book titles, hence the link to the mod example.

Book 1: Heir of Fire
Book 2: Heartless
Book 3: Enchanted Chaos
Book 4: Shimmering Chaos
That's right, right????
Never mind, just saw last book didn't have the YA tag...
But idea's same right? Just need to find a different book starting with S & ending in S.
The idea is right, yes!
If you want to keep those books, then yes, you only need to replace the fourth one with something that has a YA tag but also starts and ends with S&S.

Welcome!
And now I'm off to bed and I'll try not to snooze for too long tomorrow morning...... it's become a bit of a habit..... oops
G'Night!

The second book How to Be a Pirate is 27,308 words so I should be good for both books. I've got a few audiobooks lined up so don't put me down for it yet but I'm adding it to my audiobook list.

Thick as Thieves
My Lady Jane
In the Shadow of Blackbirds
Spinning Silver
A Conjuring of Light
A Book of Spirits and Thieves
These Shallow Graves

Annalisa, i was thinking of that series as well when i saw the dragon tasks! i have most of the books from the series so give me a shout if you'd need some help with those!
Stacie, your double L book has a U author, so I'm being mean and keeping it for the characters rather than for the tasks ;-)
But I used one of V's books for the double L task instead.
I do have a question about Lawman Lion though. I'm not sure it'll work for the club thing since it's more a gang rather than a club - I get the impression from the task that it's more a place, like a yachtclub or whatever, where not everyone can get in. But the synopsis makes it sound like it could work for "Read a book where someone tries to protect someone"?

Fantastic, I'll slot it into that task then :-)

As far as I know, yes. A couple of people were wondering about books fitting for that task, but I don't think someone is reading specifically for it, unless I missed it.

Task 5 - The Battle of Hogwarts

(LaurLa) 5.2 Read a book with a sword on the cover

✔(Kathleen) 5.4 Read a book multiple people die
Also, I think I can claim these tasks...

HP 4 3.4 Read a book with a single shoe on the cover (Command Indecision)

HP 6 3.3 Read a book with "Vow" in the title or series name (Final Vow)
