I didn't have much luck finding a book with a siege. Maybe we will come across something when we are reading. I'm hoping so anyway.

Has anyone read Joe Abercrombie? I have all his books so if there's a book where you know there is mention of a siege, I can read it. Aside from the Shattered Seas trilogy (there was a siege!), I haven't read any of his works yet so maybe one can work for that task?

I'm reading an epic fantasy now, not sure if there will be a siege though. I highly doubt it actually as the MC finds herself left with a few retinue of soldiers.

Mmhh, I think this might be one of those things that'll be easier to find by just reading. High/Epic fantasy is definitely a good place to start hehe. Anywhere where there are battles about territory and wars between factions being fought.

If anyone is reading/plans to read A Reaper at the Gates, that would work for under siege.

Or maybe old historical ones, like The Last Kingdom. The Danes invasion would probably qualify.

I have siege book (The White Queen by Gregory) but there is nio way I'll read it before quidditch starts. First book was very very very slow read for me

Or I could attack HP&DH (😉) if nobody comes with other option

@Annalisa, everything about the series is mixed up in my head now so I can't be sure if what I remember happens in the 1st or 2nd book. But it's definitely a good series to add to your TBR ;)

Anything finished before 31st July needs letters for characters in the books so we can use them for the spell-out.

Everything on or after 31st July can be used for spell-outs or tasks.

Zombie... maybe? Maybe something that happens in the book can be used for one of the tasks. Just browse through and see where it might fit :-) Otherwise, spell-outs!

From the blurb, I'm not so sure there will be a siege. But we can always see later once you're done.

The U would come in handy as well if the book doesn't work for one of the tasks!

V Nerd, can I get some details about your siege situation in Red Hill, please? Zombies are surrounding the house multiple people are staying in?

Yes thats exactly right, they are trapped in a building with Zombies surrounding them and they have to try and escape somehow

But that is in a different part, they all eventually end up staying in one house in the middle of nowhere, but the siege part is when they are trying to get out of the city x

Im reading Kiss of Snow and it just occured to me that it could work for siege. Siege doesnt have to mean a castle being surrounded, right?. It could also mean a serious attack that lasts for some time. The shapeshifters have been under persistent attack from the Psy for a while now. Since I can't remember which book, the villains have been constantly attacking the Dens, trying to weaken them so they can swoop in. Thoughts? Or do we stick with age old definition of castle under attack?
