kat (wanderfulbooks) (wanderfulbooks) | 2329 comments I think so too so let's use it for TWT. I'm three chapters away from done in case current Maze requirement changes tonight ;)

I Hunt Killers is twisted. lol

Reading a few more pages then am off to bed.

Sounds like a plan, Kathleen!

Lol yes, I Hunt Killers is definitely a little twisted, but quite cool that way.

It's certainly not a fast book but at the same time, it isn't exactly slow either. It's... sort of in between?
I actually like that Toby is a bit of an oddball with some serious issues. It makes a difference to all those kick-ass heroines out there who apparently all know what they want and only have a so-called attitude problem (that disappears a few chapters in) instead of a real one.

❀Tea❀ (ttea) | 9624 comments I'd like to try and get past Fluffy :)

I have 'musical instrument on the cover' - task 1.2.1
and 'song in the title' - task 1.2.4

both can work for 'music mpg' - task 1.2.2

(or I can read something else for it, but don't put me down for it until I'm done with these. Quidditch is approaching *bites her nails*)

I do think it gets better the further in the book you get. Overall I liked the book but it felt like it was missing that something to make it more memorable, more likable. Toby is more of a loner & doesn't have that core support network that most other UF heroines have, & it was a little tiring that she was so closed off from everyone (the love/hate relationships).

I am currently reading the 2nd one - there are 12 in this series so I'm hopeful it will get better! But definitely not like her Wayward Children series.

You are so right, there are too many of those types of heroines! Toby IS different, I'll give her that. Thinking back, she reminds me a little of Kate Daniels in the very beginning because Kate didn't want to get close to anyone either. With that in mind, gotta keep positive that it will soon turn to greatness :)

Hmmm, I think the instrument on cover would be harder to find than song in title. So I'll already put you down for that one hehe.

Quidditch is still a few days away, more than enough time for you to finish this one - or both hehe ;-)

❀Tea❀ (ttea) | 9624 comments You can put me on both. Wait was for third one (tagged as music). ;)

Or if you want to use one of this two for music task, that's fine with me.

Edit: current instrument one doesn't have music tag, but I can switch book. There are lots of instruments on my reader :)

As long as one of them has a music tag, it's all good! :-)

So instrument on cover and MPG music are your two tasks. Then you can still always do the song afterwards?

kat (wanderfulbooks) (wanderfulbooks) | 2329 comments E, I used Ruin and Rising for the multiple people die task. I'm not sure how fast I can read I Hunt Killers. I tried reading it in one sitting bit I just can't. It's messing me up lol. I like it though (is that even morally right???) but it's just not the kind I can read in one sitting.

And then if no one's reading for #7~5.2 MPG War, I'll read for it.

LaurLa | 2378 comments I have books that will coover these:

HP 3 1.2 Read a book with "Night" in the title OR
HP 3 1.4 Read a book with the main character's initials are S.S.
Night Heat (Forged of Steele #2) by Brenda Jackson

If we all agree this would be considered woods, then I can also cover
HP 3 5.2 Read a book with woods on the cover
Shiver (Romance on the Edge, #3) by Tiffinie Helmer

I can also do this one but don't want to hog tasks, so let me know?
HP 7 5.2 Read a book with a sword on the cover
Magic Rises (Kate Daniels, #6) by Ilona Andrews

Also, if someone wants to read a book starting with S, please go for it!

We're probably going to be done with the initial 36 tasks before I get to that one (since I'm reading another book before it), so someone else might as well snatch that one up.

i can help with that! i'm currently reading Stargirl, which i intended to submit for our maze, before i noticed that it needs an odd-number of pages book 😅

Yep, LaurLa is tentatively reading for that one but she also has two others she's reading, so I'm sure she won't mind if Grey Sister is used for the "sword on cover" task.

I'm on the fence about that one. There is a lot of black happening in the middle.

Stacie (thesebooksaremyfriends) Is wishlist acceptable for this: 5.3 Read a book tagged at least 50 times as “wish”

Because I just finished Beneath the Sugar Sky (Wayward Children, #3) by Seanan McGuire and it's tagged 54 times as wishlist

I know it's not one of our first 36 but if we think it works, I can put that in my completion post with the characters in case we get there.

Clarification/Update for TWT tasks:

There has been a bit of confusion but it has been agreed that while our first 9 tasks are the one we should focus on first, we can read for other tasks as well.

We will only receive points once the first 9 tasks are completed, but we can start reading for others, too.

message 1688: by Stacie (new)

Stacie (thesebooksaremyfriends) I'll post it later for that task then!

message 1689: by Annalisa (new)

Annalisa | 1573 comments Good to know. That opens up a lot of possibilities for books. I guess we still need to focus on the first 36 books, but at least I don't have to wonder if what I'm reading will work or if it will conflict with what someone else already read.

message 1690: by Annalisa (new)

Annalisa | 1573 comments I'm going to the library after work today. If there is a specific task that isn't covered I can look for a book to cover it. I'd try and get a book for the maze but I think that would be difficult since we have no idea what is coming next. I guess I should also be on the lookout for books with U. Is there a second letter I should be on the lookout for as well?

Mostly the U, because we need quite a few of those and haven't gotten a lot of them yet.

Other than that... characters under siege hehe. That's the one we definitely still need.
Or if you'd like to look for a bus on the cover? Or a book where a long-lost sibling is found?

Those are the three that haven't really been touched yet.

I'm on the fence.

For me, a siege has always been something that occurs during a battle where one camp is under siege by another one, without being able to get out and rations slowly dwindling etc etc.
Think Red Rising.

message 1700: by Annalisa (new)

Annalisa | 1573 comments Not having read the book yet I'm not sure how this one will go. From past books in the series i know the planet was attacked and cut off because of the attack. As for supplies dwindling I don't know what they lack on the planet. I do know the planet is/will be under attack.
