HARRY POTTER #7
Task 1 - The Seven Potters
1.4 Read a book with a number in the title
And then I can take the double l's in the first book if no one minds.

Book 1 - 2.3 Read a book where the main character is a musician
If 2,
Book 2 - 4.3 Read a book with Death in the title
If 3,
Book 3 - 5.1 Read a book a wand on the cover
Book 3 - 5.3 Read a book with "Death" in the title
Will grab others after I find appropriate books.

Sure thing!

It's books #1 and book #3 for sure! The tasks are yours.
The third choice is still pending but will be either book #4 or book #7.

As for book #7 - it's starting to be a toss-up between book #4 and #7 as there are a lot of tasks that seem doable but we don't have 3 chosen for either book yet.
VOTING TIME, otherwise we're getting nowhere.
For our third book - do you want to pick tasks from book #7 or from book #4?
(Hint, that might help in the decision hehe: Stacie is reading a book that fits for book #7 ;-))

Not to worry!
To make your life a little easier - look at book #3 as your priority (since you've already done #1).
And then whatever book will be chosen between #4 and #7.

Book 7 preferable :)
Since I'll finish Rosemary and Rue in August as well (latest on the 2nd since that's the BOM deadline), and it fits for the MPG Paranormal task (book #3, task 3), do you mind if I claim that one, too?

Annalisa wrote: "Are you enjoying Rosemary and Rue? I read the first bit last night. It is very different from her other books, which I mostly loved."
It's the first one of hers I've read and so far I'm enjoying it. The main character is different from the more generic fantasy characters and so far I'm enjoying it, at almost half-way through.
The character dynamics are a bit odd though and hard to figure out at times.

After we finish these initial 36 books we can fill in the rest of the tasks for all the books or just the books we selected?
I'm going to try and read Rosemary and Rue before the book of the month ends, not sure I will get there or not. The fact that it is different from other urban fantasy you have read makes me inclined to give it more of a chance.

After those 36, we can read for whichever tasks from whichever book we want. Those will just be additional points.

I'll go see which tasks it works for since there's now 3 of us reading it hehe. I'll let you guys know and will claim the tasks.
Rosemary and Rue works for:
HP#1
Task 1 - 1.3 Read a book with “troll” in the title or text (there's mention of a Bridge Troll in the first chapter)
HP #3
Task 3 - Write a Report on Werewolves
3.2 - Read a book with MPG Paranormal
HP #7
Task 4 - The Missing Mirror
4.1 Read a book where the main character "goes home again" (you mentioned being able to read for this one anyway, Kathleen)
3 people reading, 3 tasks - that's nice!
Eta: there may be more options but I'm not through yet. Maybe Cathy can help, since she's finished it already. :-)

What do you think?"
Mmhh, could work for an eerie cover. Not necessarily scary, but it definitely has that eerie, devious-deeds-under-cover-of-night kind of cover hehe.

TRI-WIZARD TASKS
Due to books being read and fitting certain tasks, we'll go with what works best for those since we'll want to make as much use of all our books as possible.
We're reading for:
Harry Potter #1
Task 1 - Defeat the Troll
Task 2 - Get past Fluffy
Task 4 - Escape Devil’s Snare
Harry Potter #3
Task 1 - Ride the Knight Bus
Task 3 - Write a report on Werewolves
Task 5 - Defeat Dementors
Harry Potter #7
Task 1 - The Seven Potters
Task 4 - The Missing Mirror
+ one more you can decide on :-)
======
I'm keeping track in THIS POST of all the claimed tasks so far.
(Several posts above, I've made note of all your options as well as all the tasks for all the books.)

Reminder for BRs
Countdown
You have another 8 hours to finish any BRs you're currently reading and also post them.
Any books finished or posted after this countdown has gone to 0 will not be counted towards BR points.
Thanks, guys! :-)
You have done incredible with all those buddy reads!!

I'm sorry guys, I feel like I'm spamming you today buuuut, it's necessary haha.
TRI-WIZARD TOURNAMENT - MAZE!!
Information on the maze is HERE.
Please head over to The Dungeon to plan for the Maze - together with the other Slytherin teams as the Maze is a House effort.
If you do not want to participate in the maze and would rather focus on the other tasks we have, that is absolutely fine as well since those need doing, too - just let us know please! :-)

Yes, everything will run sort of parallel.
Books read for the Quidditch match however will not be used for tasks or for the Maze - unless you start them but don't finish them during Quidditch.

Now need to read thru all these posts & the tasks still open. I don't have anything to read now except I Hunt Killers. I feel so lost without the BRs! Have no idea what to do with myself.
Have I told you lately how much I love you, Cathy? You're a rock star!! All those BRs and fat books :-D

But can I just say how tired I am?? I usually do my reading at night after the hubby goes to bed (besides audiobooks) so I've been staying up really late to get these books read & BRs done. Tonight I'm getting some sleep!
And now I actually DO need to get some work done... it's already noon!
Oh wow, can imagine!! Get some well-deserved rest tonight!!
As for work.. tomorrow is another day ;-) That's what I told myself today repeatedly haha.

So, E, if I have too many 'read' books without dates and not on tt shelf, it's not my fault! :P
❀Tea❀ wrote: "E, do you want us to mention triwizard tasks book fits when we are done if tasks are unclaimed or from currently not picked books and options?"
It might be good to mention here in the thread which task you're going to read for, at least for the first 36 books, so we aren't reading for the same task twice.
After that, feel free to do as you see fit. If books work for tasks, all the better, and if they don't, then they can be used for characters.

I'm going through shelves again and GR is doing weird shit with previously read books, too.
LaurLa,
Undeniable disappeared off your TT shelf. Can you add it again please? Thanks!
V Nerd,
updaaaaate! Your shelf numbers are making me nuts haha, because the discrepancy to the spreadsheet is too big.
Natasha,
apparently we missed a book from your TT shelf and there's no completion post either. Could you add a completion post for Soon: An Overdue History of Procrastination, from Leonardo and Darwin to You and Me, please? Or was there a particular reason why that one wasn't taken into account that I can't remember anymore?! Thank you!
Stacie,
we apparently also missed a book from your TT shelf and there's no completion post. Could you please add a completion post for Next to You? Same goes for Let's Talk About Love
Thank you!

It is entirely possible that my tired and muddled brain missed yet another completion post. If so, please feel free to shout at me.
I'll read the shouting in the morning ;-) It's midnight and I need to get some sleep before I have to get up in less than 6 hours again, blergh.
Good night everyone, and thanks for all your hard work!! It is much appreciated :-)
