TRI-WIZARD TOURNAMENT TASKS
Please read through the tasks carefully and see which tasks/book requirements you could easily read for.
If you have already planned ahead and know which books you're going to read next, please check which tasks they could work for.
Choose 1-3 tasks/book requirements you would like to claim to read for and list them here in the thread. (Harry Potter book and task + book requirement)
I'll try to keep track on the first page of the thread and then we can see which tasks would work best for the team as a whole.

No. The first 9 tasks we're choosing do not have to be read in order.
They will have to be finished though before we can move on to any bonus tasks we'd like to complete for extra points.

9 tasks?

We have 7 HP books. We pick 3 books.
Within those books, we will pick 3 tasks per book.
Each task is made up of 4 book requirements and those are the ones we're going to read for.

After a bit of digging (I was sure I read something about this somewhere but couldn't remember where), I am happy to tell you that you can actually use this book for the Tri-Wizard tasks :-)
Books started before the tournament but not finished until August can count, since that wouldn't make it a banked book, and because this is an ongoing challenge.

Fantastic!
No need to make it all very fancy, you know, but a proper screen and tabs will do wonders when weeding through a bunch of tasks to see which ones will fit :-)

But to find other books and where they fit the computer with tabs and to side by side pages makes it so much easier. I know my other library books will fit. I'm pretty sure I have a white cover but I'll have to check. I'm going to be reading a lot of mind candy after I finish these last few fantasy reads. I need to start Rosemary and Rue for BOM. Hoping I can finish quickly. Has anyone here read it? Did they like it? I am hesitant because of the Urban Fantasy tag.
I'm currently reading it and am enjoying it so far. It takes some time to get into. The prologue and its consequences are fantastic - rarely seen. But the setting takes some getting used to and the main character is a complex and somewhat difficult person. But I do like it hehe.
And it is a fairly quick read actually so you might be able to pull it off :-)

Cathy,
I'm bringing up the Malazan discussion again hehe.
LaurLa discussed this briefly and she figures that the ebook edition, while that is the ISBN used by Scribd, is probably not the best way to go as the ISBN number is used by various retailers with sometimes somewhat important discrepancies in page numbers (she found another one that was 700-something pages vs the previously linked 500-odd pages).
She suggests going with the current Kindle edition since that is sold only one place and at any given time has only one edition being sold and thus only one page count (even if that page count sometimes changes over time). But the generic 'ebook' is sold at different retailers with different page counts. Since Scribd isn't really a retailer, we don't know where or from whom they acquired their ebook version so can't say with any validity that it's correct.
Sound fair? Kindle edition would be this one: Gardens of the Moon

Alright, let me see what everyone has readily available and then I'll give you a run-down of possible tasks.
Tea can just fill in wherever is needed since she basically has everything :-p
Relax tag: Mods will accept a combined 10 tags for "relax" and "calm" if neither "relax" nor "calm" have 10 tags each. So if you find a book that is tagged 6 times as "relax" and 4 times as "calm", it will be acceptable. Plus, variations on the words are acceptable within the limits of common sense.

Sanah wrote: "So we choose the tasks we can complete and then find a book that fulfills this challenge? Or do captains explain dish out tasks?"
Yes. Just go through the list, see which tasks you could read for - or which tasks your planned books work for - and then we'll go from there.

Kathleen wrote: "Clarification, books we started during TT can be used for TWT... correct?"
As long as you didn't finish them before TWT starts, yes. Basically, read date needs to be August for them to count for TWT.
We aren't allowed to use banked books, which is why all the previously finished and unused books will go towards the Character spell-outs.

Also, I'm sorry, but I'm iffy on those last two BRs of yours since there wasn't a lot of interaction about the books themselves. But I think you already knew that anyway, hence the ? :-)

Yup, I joined the BR too late and no one is really there to discuss with. June really messed up my reading sched *sigh*
I don't know what to do after TT.
Oh there will be SoS Bingo starting again in August/September, so towards the end of TT or after, so you'll have something ;-)
Addition for Relax tag: (again haha)
This is also a shelf that could work. Comfort Read
There are more tags for those, so hopefully something that could work.
Any tag that makes you think "relax / calm" will work. Pleasure, gentle, peaceful, comfort, comfort read... those could all work.

Books #1 and #3 are definitely our choices, so feel free to pick whatever you want from those you can read for. (Just not the "devil" in title because Annalisa is already reading for that.)
Or go for book #4 already if you want, it looks like that will be our third choice, and I know you really want to go for those dragons hehe.
