Fabulous!! Thanks :-D
Astronomy books are rewarded 0.02 points per page so your 678 page book is going to give us a few more points than the books we currently have slotted in for that class.

Yes, we did!! :-D
Classes Mastered:
Astronomy
Charms
Defence Against the Dark Arts
Divination
Herbology
Transfiguration
======
What is left:
Arithmancy:
- Kathleen is almost done with her chunkster for 901+ pages.
- LaurLa will read hers in July.
Care of Magical Creatures:
- one more book for the body (Natasha mentioned the possibility of a horse?)
- a name for our fabulous creature (yes, we do get points for this)
Potions
- cauldron (Em is currently reading for this.)
- scale (Cathy has one coming up for this.)
======
Astronomy can still be buffed a little! So if you have a book with a celestial object other than sun/moon/stars/neptune/northern lights in the title with a lot of pages... ;-)

And of course, we need to write our History of Magic essay (7 books).
Annalisa and Kathleen, would you two like to work on this together?
Also, V Nerd, you used to be good with writing gory stuff for our massacre challenges... want to join these two for a bit ofcrazy creative writing?
Kathleen should be back from her trip soon, I think?!
So anything not marked as used and without a note next to it is up for grabs and you can juggle those around as you see fit. I trust you to make it awesome :-)
(With LaurLa being on vacation, this is your moment to steal aaaaall her books :-p)

Thanks! :-)
If you can't find one, don't worry about it, I have a few horse books lying around. I'm sure I can squeeze one of those in somewhere :-)

Yep, U/I/X are all marked on the spreadsheet - there is a note in the I column. There aren't that many, and for most of the I's, it's pretty obvious since it's the title.
Thanks :-)

Hahaha, now that is a good question!
Honestly, I kind of love that idea :-)
And asteroids have been approved as celestial objects. Besides in the description of the class itself it says that the homework assigned by Professor Sinistra often included learning the names of stars, asteroids.....
I'd say, go for it!

(It's been reeeeaaaaally long since I've studied this so I might be completely wrong!)
Hmm, if you put it that way. I only know there are various particles involved in their occurrence.
But I guess the fact that it is an occurrence rather than a more permanent thing like starlight.. (Yep, thinking out loud here.)
Mmhh, sorry Stacie, but Tea is right. Might be better not to go with that one.

Hey Tea,
for One Foot in the Grave, could you please add Ian Flannery as a character? We need the I for the spells hehe. And this is the book where Cat actually meets Ian.
Thank yoouu!

Done. :)
As I said it was supposed to be quidditch book so I wasn't keeping track of who is in the book.
Great!
Yeah, that's why I read over the list and went back to my own review, which didn't mention him, buuuut that's what amazon's Look Inside feature comes in handy for hehe. Couldn't quite remember if it was this one or next. Since Ian isn't in all of them, I think?! And I wasn't sure how long it's been since LaurLa read them so .. yeah ;-)
I'm starting to ramble, so I should probably head to bed haha. And try and read a few more pages in Red Sister - so so far behind and the new BOM started today *sigh* so slow, so slow. And instead of reading Red Sister yesterday as I actually wanted to do, I read Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, which I shouldn't have done. It upset me :-p At least it's another book crossed off the TBR and an additional BR.
Right, REALLY going to bed now haha.
G'night!

great! then it will be next on my reading list after my cauldron book :)

No, sky doesn't work as it isn't an actual celestial object.

Or maybe Gemina is a celestial object. That's 659pages. I think I may have checked because being set in space I was hopeful the title would be a space object.

The Luminaries in hardcover is 848 pages. Will luminaries work for astronony?
Wikipedia says...
The luminaries were what traditional astrologers called the two astrological "planets" which were the brightest and most important objects in the heavens, that is, the Sun and the Moon.
Annalisa wrote: "I was hoping I would find something naturally. However the only book I have is Seduce me at Sunrise and it is only 360 pages. I'm guessing it should be longer than that. Is there a celestial object..."
Unfortunately 360 is lower than most of the books we already have (if only very little) so the sunrise one wouldn't improve the points for the class.
Feast or Crow.. not that I know. There's a raven constellation (Corvus) but that isn't the same despite crows being mentioned in the explanation somewhere.
Gemina won't work either, I don't think. The constellation is Gemini so unfortunately not the same.
But this is all just after quick checking and (very) minimal memory of school.

Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follett is huge. I'm not sure I would volunteer for it. I think I may have come across a few more with earth in the title as well.
We are looking for over 500page books, right?
Hello!
Just popping in to say Earth totally works
other historical fiction : The Sunne in Splendour
or how about dubious philosophy novel: Atlas Shrugged (Atlas is a moon of one of the gas giants)

Hey Natasha,
Ella Enchanted and The Tale of Nefret were both used for Quidditch, right?
Could you please post a quick completion post for all your Quidditch books? Just read date and page numbers.
Thanks!

i've found that the full moon is sometimes also referred to as crow moon or full crow moon. this might be reeeaaally stretching it, though? would it be okay to read The Feast of Crow even though there's only crow in the title, or should the title contain the complete term?
ETA: also i'm not too sure since the term is referring to a phase of the moon... and not the name of the moon itself. i'll try to research some more.

No, no 120 points needed. It's a formula copy/paste thing that didn't get changed.
We only need to read 7 books.

Don't think that would work since, as you said, it's a phase of the moon and not the actual celestial object itself.
Besides, if it did work, I think you would need the actual expression in the title and not just a part of it.
Nice try though! :-)
