Cathy M. (mccathy77) | 5976 comments If it helps, the dragon/title is bronze/brown & Tineye only reads it as 34.4% brown.

No worries though, I'm going to start it today so I can get to the Neptune book!

Stacie (thesebooksaremyfriends) Wait for LaurLa but I say yes it qualifies as turquoise. I see turquoise and gold.

You can't have something needing monsters and not have Dresden :P
And audiobooks are great :)

They aaaaaare!! James Marsters is fantastic as Harry. I know there are some people out there who don't think so, but I think he fits!

If you're up for more Harry, I'm sure we can use him for DADA, since this one went to Astronomy ;-)

I think new book should be out soon

Something that can be killed with poison - I didn't want to use Cress so we didn't have the same combination twice.

I feel like there is a book somewhere in the completions that has something that can be killed with poison though.... need to go back and check.

We have a sword available for doing some defence so that could be used. Unless Stacie is absolutely set on reading her zombie book? Then we aren't going to axe that one.

ONE slot for DADA is still open, so whatever you feel like, basically!

Tea, could you please shelve the same edition as the one you posted? Or you know, make it match? Thanks!
The book on your TT shelf doesn't show an actual cover for the Brunetti book.

Lost and Found Sisters (Wildstone, #1) by Jill Shalvis --> The Emperor of All Maladies A Biography of Cancer by Siddhartha Mukherjee

Beach hat to crab?

Might that be an idea?

Stacie (thesebooksaremyfriends) I kind of love that idea.

Stacie!

Do you still want to read Feedback?

I found a book in our list that could be used with Kathleen's sword book so you don't have to read just for TT if you don't want to.

message 762: by Stacie (new)

Stacie (thesebooksaremyfriends) I do want to read it and can move it up the planned list. Quidditch reading is putting me behind but it's all good.

I know. Because book I've read doesn't have cover on GR. Cover is wrong edition just to show what it looks like
I could switch to audio version since I've listen most of it if you want (and that is again another cover)

message 764: by Eldarwen (new)

Eldarwen | 13645 comments Mod
Oh no, you don't have to move it up the list. Plenty of time to read it! :-)

I'm just going through our read books at the moment and one of Jamie's jumped out at me as a potential monster book.

message 765: by Stacie (new)

Stacie (thesebooksaremyfriends) Go ahead and use that one and then we'll see if I get to Feedback?

I'd question the 50% too. Right off that's what I wondered... the book gives the impression of turquoise because of the contrast and being so bright, but actually, it bleeds to quite dark around the edges that I think would take away from it being 50%. Sorry to be a spoilsport :-(

ETA: but maybe our crab can transfigurate into a dragon?

Sometimes I really hate the million different versions on GR, especially when none of them match your book haha.

Nah, just leave it as is in that case :-)

Thanks though!

Looks like we still need items for our creature - what about using the pinchers for that?

message 769: by Eldarwen (new)

Eldarwen | 13645 comments Mod
Other option:

In the Black Dagger Brotherhood series, there are monsters - and I'm not just talking about the vampires. Lessers are killed with a blade stabbed through the heart...

So we could use the lessers as monsters and use The Emperor's Blades as the defence.

(And then the zombies with the sword. And there's something around for poison, I'm sure. And more blades haha.)

V_Nerdbooks | 5079 comments Just posted a couple in the completion thread E, one of them was a Chick-Lit if that helps?

message 773: by Eldarwen (new)

Eldarwen | 13645 comments Mod
It does have the chick-lit tag, but is it fluffy? I remember Scott's other series being less fluffy but more sex-oriented. I'm thinking Kinsella or Evanovich (Stephanie Plum) for fluffy chick-lit - something along those lines.

message 774: by V_Nerdbooks (new)

V_Nerdbooks | 5079 comments Ah right no not fluffy then, i just saw the MPG and got excited 😂

I knoooow - I do that, too. Or I see romance and think "oooh fluffy!!" and then it doesn't have an MPG of chick-lit but something along the lines of drama haha.

Ok, to be fair, I may be a little strict on these classes guidelines, but honestly, we have a lot of time to read for them all, and I don't want us to earn negative points in case the class master thinks we failed the test ;-)

Annalisa | 1573 comments I just started an audiobook. I'm not sure I have the right edition but it says 7pages. The actual book has 231 pages or there about. Is it an issue if I shelf the book with a low page number marked? I could pick one that doesn't have any pages.

kat (wanderfulbooks) (wanderfulbooks) | 2329 comments I read a "moon" book if you're diversifying our astronomy books. Also, in one of my current reads, a character mentioned poison as the surest way to kill a troll. I cam quote it if you want and then you can decide E. I'll post tomorrow. Just got back from a mission trip. I thought I could catch up but barely had time to read. Will catch up on Hello Stranger and Ready Player One soonest!

No, that's fine. You can shelve the audio edition.

For the page number, we're just going to use the default edition of the book, which I assume is the 231 pages you mentioned :-)

Defence needs to be in the title, so unfortunately the poison mention in the book won't work :-)

Ready Player One is on hold for most of the people in the thread as we all have books to finish up, so don't worry about that one. Hello Stranger is moving faster with Lisa already being finished. I'm tryyyying to get there tonight as well, or wanted to, but then realised I'd have to read 200 pages tonight and I'm not sure that's going to happen.

message 788: by Annalisa (new)

Annalisa | 1573 comments I'm only about 2 chapters into Hello Stranger. I'm hoping to finish it tonight or tomorrow night. Might not happen though. I also, have Artemis to finish before I start Ready Player One. It might be this weekend. I seem to only have time for audiobooks when I'm on my way to places or doing housework. It's frustrating.

Haha, yeah my reading time has been eaten by Quidditch announcements, so I'm going to try and not be announcer for the next round and read a little more instead. ;-)

I also want to finish Red Rising this week, also a BR, that started on Saturday that I haven't gotten very far in yet.

I blame Kathleen. It's all her fault. She dragged us into a million BRs by telling us about all the wonderful books that were going to be read ;-)

Cool!

What I meant was, since you were looking for a creature to kill with poison, maybe one of my current reads with trolls could do? It mentioned that these trolls can be killed with poison.

I'm just really, really curious to see what the book is they have to read. It's a position I wouldn't mind playing, if I knew it was a book I had access to but that is a very big if.

kat (wanderfulbooks) (wanderfulbooks) | 2329 comments Yeah, if they don't have a good library and had to buy the book. And if it weren't something you don't usually read. Hard job, being the seeker i think!
