Erika Thanks so much

Heli | 508 comments I'm working through the weekend. Tomorrow I'm heading to a family music festival with some of our clients. That should be fun. Won't be able to read much though.

I could read Renegades, but I have one other I need to read first. And this is a big girl book, so it might be a week or longer before it's done. But keep me in mind in case no one else has something they want to read.

✿~Danielle~✿ (dmh1) | 5684 comments That sounds great Kim. There’s no rush to finish soon so read it when you can. Thanks.

Kim Anderson (kimmatski) | 1223 comments OK. I'm on it!

message 956: by SandyL (new)

SandyL | 4747 comments I hope everyone has been having a great weekend! I've been spending most of it with my sister, who is in the hospital. She had some surgery on Friday and we thought she'd be out yesterday, but it looks like not until tomorrow now. She's doing okay. I did some reading for Qudditch, but had to call in a reserve since hospital time made it difficult.

Thanks to Danielle and Emma who are also playing Quidditch - they are doing great!!!

Emma (M) | 1777 comments Being with your sister most definitely takes precedence! I hope she is feeling better and will be out of the hospital tomorrow, it’s always nicer being at home and comfortable.

message 958: by Laura (new)

Laura | 9707 comments I agree with Emma! Being with your sister takes precedence. Glad to hear she is ok but wishing her a speedy recovery.

Definitely more importantly to be with your sister. I’m glad she’s doing ok.

Super, Danielle en Emma. Thanks for playing excellent

Kim Anderson (kimmatski) | 1223 comments Hey Newts! A few days ago Danielle asked if anyone had a YA book they could read that started with R and ended with S (articles count, so it can't start with A or The). I volunteered, but I'm having trouble getting the book from any of the several libraries I have access to. I'm on hold lists. Does anyone else have anything for this? It's for that TWT task where you have to read books in a square. Danielle must have the other three sides covered.

I've got one I can read @Kim. Thanks for the heads up!

message 963: by Kim (new)

Kim Anderson (kimmatski) | 1223 comments Awesome. Sorry about that. Renegades is 550+ pages. With the hold list, I was feeling a lot of pressure that I wouldn't be able to finish before the end and Danielle's three books would go to waste.

message 964: by Laura (new)

Laura | 9707 comments Once I got through the first third of the book I really liked it. How do you like it so far?

message 965: by Kim (new)

Kim Anderson (kimmatski) | 1223 comments Renegades? I haven't started. I'm on hold. When I volunteered to do the task, the library had it in. I went that afternoon to pick it up. Gone. I was hoping to get another copy but it looks like there are several people already ahead of me. Also, 550 pages would probably take me a week and a half to read. Sigh. I miss my job where I got to listen to 8 hours of audio a day. I slayed the challenges. Memories...

message 966: by SandyL (new)

SandyL | 4747 comments I just realized the "starts with R and ends with S" book needs to be Young Adult, which my book is not.

I'll keep looking, but I don't read much in this genre. If anyone else has something.....

I'll be going through what we've got so far and will put out a list of what we still need tomorrow.

message 967: by Emma (M) (new)

Emma (M) | 1777 comments I can have a look if my online library has something. I’ll just go have a look.

message 968: by Erika (new)

SandyL | 4747 comments description

Hi Newts!
We've got two weeks left in Tower Teams and you guys are doing awesome!!!!

Here are the tasks we still need books for:
*Read a book with a gate on the cover - Laura
*Read a book with "Witch" or "Wizard" in the title - Laura
*Read 2 books with similar covers - Linda
*Read a book with a cat on the cover - Laura
*Read a book with a cauldron on the cover
*Read a book with "Death" in the title - Claire
*Read a book with a snake on the cover or "Snake" in the title
*Read a book with a sword on the cover - Danielle
*Read a book with a bus on the cover
*Read a book with a main character whose initials are S.S. - Danielle
*Read a book with a balloon on the cover - Danielle
*Read a book with time travel
*Read a book with a clock on the cover - Claire
*Read a book with "Time" in the title - Sandy
*Read a book with a wand on the cover
*Read a book with "Death" in the title (yes, another one)
*Read a book with "Dragon" in the series name - Danielle
*Read a book with a dragon in the book - Danielle
*Read a book with your favorite romantic couple
*Read a book with a couple dancing on the cover
*Read a book with a single shoe on the cover - Sandy
*Read a book with someone swimming on the cover
*Read a book with "Maze" in the title or series name
*Read a book with a riddle in the text
*Read a book with "Spider" in the title
*Read a book with a key on the cover
*Read a book with "Order" in the title - Danielle
*Read a book with a club-like object on the cover
*Read a book with a necklace on the cover
*Read a book with "Silver" in the title
*Read a book with something broken on the cover
*Read a book that starts with U - Claire
*Read a book with "Love" in the title - Emma
*Read a book with chocolate on the cover - Sandy
*Read a book with a bottle on the cover
*Read a book with a heart on the cover
*Read a book with a white cover - Emma
*Read a Title Relay of 4 books

So, as you can see we're in pretty good shape! When you make your completion post, if you can put any tasks your book fits, that helps in case I need to move things around. And since we're getting down to the wire, if you claim a task but it looks like you can't finish, please speak up as early as possible.

I'll figure out which letters we still need for character spell-outs and let you know later today or tomorrow (I know we need Y's!!)

Great work Newts!!!!!

Emma (M) | 1777 comments I have nearly finished Love in a Cold Climate and will be done later today. It fits ‘Read a book with Love in the title’.

message 975: by Emma (M) (new)

Emma (M) | 1777 comments I will also finish later today Curing Affluenza How to buy less stuff and save the world by Richard Denniss which fits ‘Read a book with a white cover’

message 976: by Erika (new)

Erika I’m reading New Life, No Instructions by Gail Caldwell, I believe that qualifies as a white cover

message 977: by Claire (new)

Claire | 273 comments I will read for a book starting with U and death in the title. As I really read for this challenge, I’d like to claim them now. I have no problems with ‘first read’ principle, but find it extremely annoying if I go out of my way to read a book I’m not really wild about and see it is not needed.

Laura | 9707 comments Hi Newts! How is everyone doing? I've spent a rather lazy day reading. It's been rather nice recharging back up!

I've got a few other books I need to finish first, but I'm good with starting to put something together. I never know where to start with these!

Laura | 9707 comments I remember we read Never Never for the Wobble challenge.

Easy titles to build off of are best.

message 990: by Laura (new)

Laura | 9707 comments My current book works for witch in title or a cat on the cover

message 991: by SandyL (new)

SandyL | 4747 comments Erika wrote: "That shows what we need for a relay?"

Sorry - we need 4 books that connect to each other ....

The last word of the first book needs to be the first word of the second book...the last word of that book needs to be the first word of the third book and the last word of the third book needs to be the first word of the fourth book

message 992: by Emma (M) (new)

Emma (M) | 1777 comments I am reading two books at the moment I could potentially use for a relay if there are other books to fit:

Wake in Fright
Final Girls

Yeah, we did that chain too.

message 994: by Erika (new)

Erika It can be a variation right?
I’ve got The Girl in the Garden or Girl Waits with Gun to go off Final Girls.
I’m thinking Gun would be easier to jump off.

I don’t think so, I think they must be exact words.

Erika Oh! I do have a Girls I’m reading. Legit right next to me and I forgot about it.
Girls Made of Snow and Glass

✿~Danielle~✿ (dmh1) | 5684 comments I’ll be finished this evening with book for sword on the cover.

My next 3 books work for MC whose initials are SS, balloon on cover and cat on cover.

message 999: by SandyL (new)

SandyL | 4747 comments @Laura - I'm using your The Witch Squad for "gate on cover" - are you planning on reading another "witch" in title or cat on cover book or should I take your name off those tasks?
