I would love to help out with Quidditch, but as someone who sometimes struggles reading 1 book a week, I won’t be much use for a time sensitive team game unfortunately.

I agree Emma, I'd like to help but as a player who can only read after work and limited when I can read I'm not a good option for a player either! Go Danielle, Sandy and Erika!
No worries @Emma and @Laura! If there is anyone else who MAY be available for at least a 24 hour period, we could really use more reserves. If you sign up as a reserve, your name goes on the list. Then, if a regular player needs to take a break or has an emergency or for any other reason can't read, a request goes out to the reserves to see who can fill in. If you can't do it, no problem. If you can, then great! So fellow Newts, please consider if your schedule allows - it would be a great help! (Please know I'm not trying to pressure anyone - I just want you all to know you don't have to commit to an extended speed reading time to play.)
Doing ok now, was feeling a bit under the weather, so not much reading done the last few days. I have one to post and I’m back in a reading spirit.
Yeah Danielle! Happy to hear you are feeling better!I'm reading HP #4. It's thick! I think your chatty Cathy ( me) disappears during the day for work. Work is much busier now. No time to sneak on GR.
OMG. ... this empty nest is hitting me. My son has one exam left. Prom and graduation are next week, and another bigger welcome package came from college yesterday. Eeeks
Laura wrote: "Any one else not getting notifications today?"I don't use notifications much, but it looks like a lot of people are reporting the same thing, so another GR bug!😒

I've been reading HP#4 for quite awhile now! I'm having a harder time getting into this one for some reason. My goal is to finish it by tomorrow, though, before quidditch starts.
I hope you get to spend some good time with your son before he leaves for university!!
Super busy work week has left me tuckered out but i’m making progress in my reads a bit at time. Finishing up The Fault in our Stars and hopefully getting through Educated before i pass out tonight
Erika wrote: "Super busy work week has left me tuckered out but i’m making progress in my reads a bit at time. Finishing up The Fault in our Stars and hopefully getting through Educated before i pass out tonight"What do you think of The Fault in Our Stars?
Its a favorite of mine!
Anyone else check out the list? https://www.goodreads.com/blog/show/1...
I'm looking forward to reading Hoover's new book.--2nd in queue!
Just finished and I loved it! I actually love that Isaac and the parents get more of a story in the novel. I adore the movie too!
Erika wrote: "Just finished and I loved it! I actually love that Isaac and the parents get more of a story in the novel. I adore the movie too!"I didn't see the movie. Yeah, happy you liked it.
I am legit just reading and watching movies. It has been a lonnnng week and i need the chill time. It’s going to be one of those “if anyone needs me, i’ll be in that fort of books over there” weekends

Quidditch round 2, you ready for the fun? :)
SandyL wrote: "Besides reading, does anyone have any fun plans for the weekend?"work? blah that's not fun on a Saturday! Sunday---reading!
Good luck to all playing quidditch!
I’ve got my son’s birthday this weekend, just a quiet one with family, but it will consume most of my Sunday.

Thanks Sandy, he’s turning two. He and his cousin are only three weeks apart in age so we are having a joint two years old birthday for them :)
Hi Newts!!!We are back from Alaska. I'm beat but it was an amazing trip.
I got my required reading done and will post soon. Just putting up reviews for them first and then will post.
I'll try to catch up on things here and see what else is needed.
I hope all is well and everyone had a great week. :)
I'm still jealous Sassafrass! I hope you had a wonderful time and we want to see pictures! I have another GR friend who is leaving today for an Alaska cruise - I guess this is the time of year for that? How many hours of daylight did you have?
I love reading the GR blogs as I always add more books to my TBR. anyone check out this blog? How many books have you read so far?

I haven’t read any of them
Hey Newts! Anyone drop in and watch the Hufflepuff match? Danielle, Sandy & the other Puffs are doing awesome. I checked in yesterday to watch but not today!
My son looked so handsome for prom. Prom sure is different now then when we went. My son left 1.5 hr into prom. We used to stay the night and dance, dance dance!
Whatcha all reading? Anything good?
I'm buddy reading
and
I’m reading evvvverything because so many good books! I just finished up Educated which was so fascinating and just good. I’m currently working on Unravel Me which keeps making me yell at it and I don’t know how she does it, which I haven’t decided if I like or not. I’ve been following the match and it’s nuts how fast it can all change. Everyone seems to have a blast though.
Lol... I couldn't decide if I liked her or not. I finished book #4 a few weeks ago and was still undecided!

Hi Newts! We're making great progress on our classes - here's where we stand:
Arithmancy - Class Mastered!
Astronomy - We've got one more book needed (we do have several that fit if we get in a pinch, but some we get points per page for this we're looking for the highest page count possible) - Danielle were you working on another book for this?
Care of Magical Creatures - Class Mastered!
Charms - we are stuck on the water making charm. Does anyone have any ideas? A few books we have for part of it are:
* We need to use either the title or the cover for both parts*
One thought - a book with Drought in the title to counter Flood
DADA - Class Mastered!
Divination - We still need 3 ARCs - Erika can you let us know where you're at with these?
Herbology - Still need 500+ page book with brown cover. I'm still reading Game of Thrones, but if someone else has something let us know.
History of Magic - Class Mastered!
Potions - Class Mastered!
Transfiguration - Class Mastered!
I just finished an ARC! I will post in the morning. So we just need two. I don’t get much time to read actual books, so I didn’t want to commit in case I couldn’t finish in time. But I did it!
I started one and i’m hoping to make some progress if not finish it up tomorrow. I have a bunch of others I can read as well.
Quidditch R2 is over, so I’ve had a bit of time to post my books and I should have them all. I will make sure that I have.Edit: I’ve missed one or two. I’ll get them posted later.

I’m glad you have a fantastic time.
Sorry I haven't been around much - quidditch was intense! I'm leaving in the morning for a quick trip to Seattle - just overnight, but I won't have my computer with me. I hope everyone has a great weekend!
Have a great weekend, Sandy.Hi all, trying to get back into the swing of things after my vacation.
How are we doing with spells? What letters are we missing a lot of?

I don't know if this matters, but my book The Country of Ice Cream Star is put in as The Country of Ice Cream Stars, so it may not match up on my shelves.
