If only I were a speed reader over one who savors. But, not to fret for it's better to have more choices than not enough. My next fix is due to arrive tomorrow, on Sunday. Can't wait!
How about you? PI's, what are you reading? What's next on your TBR list? Do tell!

Busman's Honeymoon?
In addition to The Appleton Case, I'm listening to Go Set a Watchman, the follow-up (of sorts) to To Kill a Mockingbird.
Nicole, is all of this (your listening) on Audible? If so, I may want to look into that again. I've been trying to do four books a month, one mystery for this group, one other mystery, and two non-mysteries, on CD if possible. Hard to keep up without the listening versions!

Hi Mark - I'm listening to Busman's Honeymoon (it's taking a while because it's an almost 13 hour reading!) and then Mother's Day Murder. Mullings is a lovely trade paperback that Dorothy Cannell signed for me last weekend, and the other three will be on my Kindle. :-)
How do you like Watchman? I haven't read it yet.
Wow, PI's! Trying to keep up just reading your lists! ;-) Busman's comes up quite often. Maybe we should consider it for June?
Love me some Lucy Stone. I was tackling her series and left off somewhere in Paris read; need-want to get back on that series. She never fails when it comes to holiday reads. Always loads of spirit for the occasions. And then there's a new MSW out or coming out, a new Cleo Coyle read, Agatha Raisin soon to release and of course my historical mystery, Dead Bore that's underway via sample pages. Plus, plus, plus all the titles I can't recall or fit in this posting right now.

Nicole, I'm a little more than halfway through Watchman. It is so interesting. Without giving too much away, Scout (Jean Louise) is now 26 and returns home for a vacation and is shocked by the way things are in her birthplace, in Alabama. Time seems to be the early-mid sixties.

Interesting....if I recall correctly, she wrote if before Mockingbird? Or am I wrong?

Tina, I would be up for a future group read of Busman's Honeymoon if everyone else is on board. I'd even read a real book this time and not listen to it, lol!

I do want to read the latest MSW book. A friend's friend wrote (or contributed to) the tome. I'm intrigued.

I haven't read it but it sounds good....and it has a puggle! ;-)

I had no idea!!! Funny!

I love Bed and Breakfast mysteries!"
Ooo, looks good. Earned a great rating, too.

Crooked House was my first Agatha, which I read in high school, and the ending still sticks with me today, lol!
I love the book Crooked House. One of the best! I've not seen the recent movie, but word is that it is pretty faithful to the book. But I always think it is better to read the book first. Welcome back to the reading, LovesMysteries!

I forgot about the Crooked House adaptation. I think I saw it in RedBox so I'll check it out!
I can't recall if I read Crooked House and though I liked the movie enough, it wasn't one of my favorite Christies. Still, anything Christie and I'm there.

NicoleG, PI's, have any of you read The Couple Next Door? It's in paperback and on sale and looked inviting. I figured it to be similar to Woman In/Window.

The ending of Crooked House in the book was very controversial for Christie. They wanted her to change it, but she stuck to her guns.

I would have loved to known the original ending to "Death Comes As The End". I haven't came across it. Unfortunately, Christie changed it based on the opinion of her friend Stephen Glanville who gave her the idea of writing a historical mystery.
Yes, that would be nice to know. As it is, there were so many deaths in DCATE that the murderer is almost the only one left!

Yes, she did. Never thought that would happen.

Anyone here ever read Amanda Quick material? I found her latest intriguing and ordered a copy. I like the backdrop of Old Hollywood and the medium. Two favorites in any mystery.

I LOVE AMANDA QUICK! I haven't read any of her new stuff, but I really enjoyed her older books. Side note: She's also Jayne Ann Krentz (contemporary) and Jayne Castle (futuristic).
Mark Pghfan wrote: "Never even heard of her. Current day writing or older book?"
Pghfan, I'd heard of her but never read her books. This one has just released and takes place in Hollywood, circa 1930's. Sounds good.
There is one book that starts this series but I hear that beginning with #2 is fine. Pretty much can stand alone.

Good going, Nicole. Seems I picked a good title to escape in. Thanks for the 411.
